"Hey! What are you guys doing?" asked Alvin, packing his guitar away after selfish Brittany's solo.

"Alvin, I worked SO hard to land this spot as the lead. And Simon worked equally hard with me to perfect this duet," Jeanette answered, with a determined look on her face. "Do you think I would really let that all go to waste?"

"I say, you go, girl!" Eleanor encouraged. "But, um, how are you gonna convince Taylor to let you guys perform? I mean, you know her..."

"She doesn't control us, Eleanor. Simon and I will march right up to that stage, set up our instruments, and sing so hard it'll rock the audience, and even bossy Taylor!"

The Chipmunks were shocked at Jeanette's sudden change in personality. Most of all, Simon was himself surprised.

"I-I mean..." She cleared her throat. "If all that's okay with you, Simon?"

"Absolutely." He smiled. "WAIT: just one thing... after Brittany's whole episode, we don't have the music sheets for the song you wrote!

Jeanette frowned at this sudden realisation: he was right. They couldn't perform the song she wrote.

"Aw, man!" she sighed. "Well, we're just gonna have to sing a song that we already know without the sheets. Like... oh, let's sing 'Home'!"

"Great idea!"

"I support you with this, Jeanette," said Alvin. "I 110% support you!"

"Me too!" squeaked Theodore.

"Alvin," Simon sighed. "110% isn't mathematically possible! This explains why you got an 'F' in math-"

"Simon! Jeanette was having a moment here! Ugh, you totally ruined it for her."

"We'll be in the front row, sis," Eleanor smiled. "Cheering you two on."

"What do you mean, in the front row?"

"What, do you want us sitting in the back?" Alvin asked, slightly annoyed.

"You won't be in the audience at all."

"So you're saying... YOU DON'T WANT US TO WATCH AT ALL???"

"Relax, Alvin. It's 'cause I want you all to be onstage with us! I can't leave you guys out on the side, not performing when you were BORN to PERFORM! You'll be background singers for me."

"And this is why you're completely different to Brittany," said Eleanor.

"Ooh, speaking of our self-centred princess, are you, um, gonna... talk to her? About the whole deal with the letters, and t-" Alvin continued.

"I'll deal with the pink little criminal later," she hissed.

Woah! What happened to the shy Jeanette we know and love?

Jokes aside, it was show time!

Jeanette adjusted her guitar strings, and Simon fumbled about with his microphone.

Simon turned to his duet partner: "Ready, Jeanette?"

"We EARNED this," she beamed. "Also, thank you for doing this with me. I chose you for a reason, you know?"

"Anytime, Jean."

The three background singers, Alvin, Theodore and Eleanor, whispered: "You've got this, Jean!"

Simon softly whispered to his partner: "Showtime."

The curtains suddenly opened, revealing a cheering, excited audience.

"Good evening, everybody!" Simon boomed on the mic.

"Are you ready to Munk It Up?!" Jeanette followed on.

"YEAHHH!!!" the fans roared, chanting 'We love you guys' towards the duo.

"After short notice, we've decided we're gonna sing a song that we ALL know and love: 'Home'! A song to show how much we love Dave! Where are ya, Dave? Ladies and gents, let's give a shout out to our Dad!"

"WHOO! WE LOVE YOU, DAVE!"

Dave was somewhere out there in the crowd, unaware of all the drama between Brittany and Jeanette. All he knew was that his children were about to sing a song showing their love for him. He gave a smile from the noisy crowd.

"Go Jeanette! And Simon!" Dave could just about be heard over the screams.

Well... Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls, buckle your seatbelts, 'cause here it is! I present to you, "Home", sung by lead singer Jeanette, and co-star Simon. Includes background singers Alvin, Theodore & Eleanor.

The blinding spotlight shone on the nerdy duo.

Jeanette was usually pretty shy, but she took a deep breath, and let her beautiful voice lead the way...

Jeanette:
"Oh, you shine bright,
Brighter than all the stars,
Brighter than fireworks..."

Simon:
"So, I give you all my love."

Jeanette:
"And you're perfection,
Even in your mistakes,
Give affection,
Even when your heart aches,
When I'm away,
You're who I'm thinking of,
Because..."

All:
"You are my home, home, home!
Wherever I may roam,
You are the place where
I can rest my weary bones.
You are my home, home, home!
You are my home, home, home!"

Simon:
"You're a diamond..."

Alvin:
"(brightening)"

Simon:
"Brightening my cloudy skies..."

Theodore:
"(sparkling)"

Jeanette:
"Sparkling all through the night..."

Eleanor:
"(light)"

Simon:
"Light me up like fireflies."

Jeanette:
"See you shining,
Even in the darkness,
Stand beside me,
When I don't deserve it,
That's why I say,
I give you all my love,
Because..."

All:
"You are my home, home, home!
Wherever I may roam,
You are the place where
I can rest my weary bones.
You are my home, home, home!
You are my home, home, home!"

Simon & Jeanette:
"You're my number one,
There's no doubt,
And we stick together throughout,
Like boy [and girl] scouts, we about,
All for one 'til lights out,
So Dave, where you at?,
Wave your hands, front to back,
Everybody take a look around,
At my dad, out in the crowd.

Alvin:
"(oh)"

Jeanette:
"I love you, Dave!"

Dave bellowed from the crowd: "I LOVE YOU GUYS TOO!!!"

Alvin, Theodore & Eleanor:
"(oh, oh, oh)"

All:
"You are my home, home, home!"

The deafening crowd were a herd of lions cheering for their favourite singers.

"You're amazing, Jeanette!"
"I love you, Simon!"
"You should sing more!"
"Simon and Jeanette forever!"
"Step out of Britt's shadow!"
"You're the best, you guys!"
"I knew you'd do great, nerdy duo!"
"Alvin, you'd do better off as backing vocals!"

Ouch! to the last sentence, but nevertheless, the crowd could never be happier.

The Chipmunks went back to the studio, high-fiving each other at their "big success".

"Alvin, you do pretty good as a backing singer," Eleanor explained.

"Yeah," he sighed. "I guess I don't ALWAYS have to be in the spotlight. Though I kinda miss it."

Simon and Jeanette tried to regain their breaths after that huge performance.

"Jeanette, you did-"

Simon couldn't even finish his sentence. His sister had embraced him tightly.

"Thank you," she said softly.

Some time had passed, and the Chipmunks were getting ready to pack and head home.

"There's one thing I have to do first," she whispered, and she quickly left the room.

"Got ya!" she said, verifying Brittany's location from her phone.

She found her sister weeping in a corner backstage. Did she seem genuinely sorry for her little stunt?

"B-Brittany?"

As soon as her ocean-blue eyes met Jeanette's chocolate-brown ones, she hastily stood up.

"B-Britt, I-"

"Before that caring heart of yours tries to forgive me, lemme tell you something. I AM A HUGE JERK, WHO'S DONE A JERKY THING. Sorry ain't gonna cut it, so, what do you want?"

"Huh? What do you mean-"

"I'll do ANYTHING to make it up to you."

Jeanette had the chance to ask for ANYTHING from Brittany. If Alvin was in her place, he'd take full advantage of that's But of course, typical Jeanette, she went for the smallest favour.

"Just, please, could you go back to being the Brittany with a heart of gold again?

"Your wish is my command."

"Yes! They made up!" a voice called from behind the costume cupboard.

"HUH?" the two sisters blurted out. Was someone watching them?

A figure emerged from the cupboard, noticing that their cover had been blown.

"Cookies to celebrate, anyone?"

Could you guess who said that?
