Jeanette was busy sorting out the complex, tangled wires of the television, trying to get it to work.

"Jeanette! I have a HUGE problem down here! It's an EMERGENCY!" Brittany shrieked from the kitchen.

"Oh, gosh! Uh, coming, Britt!" she blabbered in response.

Jeanette raced down the creaky stairs over to the couches, only to see an aggravated, pink Chipette.

"Well, you took your time," she snapped.

"Sorry... I... I was getting the movie to -"

"Would you cut the excuses and get over here?"

Jeanette sighed. "What's wrong THIS TIME, Britt?"

Brittany looked like she was about to faint. "THERE'S. NO. INTERNET!" she gasped, pausing generously between each word. She lay down on the couches, resting her feeble arm on her forehead.

"Alright, Britt. So, uh, lemme get this straight." Jeanette pushed her purple glasses higher up her nose. "You called me down all the way here... for THIS?"

"Can you fix it?" Brittany begged Jeanette, completely ignoring her protesting.

"Well... of course I can! The question HERE is... should I?"

"Why shouldn't you?"

"Well, Brittany. In case you have forgotten, the Chipmunks are coming for a sleepover tonight. And I need to get everything ready before they get here!"

"Excuse me?" Brittany retorted in her sassy attitude.

"Alvin and the boys will be here any minute-"

A loud knock came at the door.

"... speaking of the boys," Jeanette finished, gesturing to the door.

She walked over to the door to open it, and as soon as she laid her hand on the door handle, another complaint arose from the Chipette's bedroom.

"Jeanette! My headphones are broken again!" Eleanor boomed from the Chipette's bedroom.

"You've GOT to be kidding! Uh, coming, Ellie!"

Jeanette, once again, dashed up the stairs, dropping on her knees and gasping for breath as she waddled over to her sister.

"What's the prob-"

"Every time I try to play my TuneDune songs' playlist, the sound just comes all... you know..."

"Croaky? Glitchy?"

"Yeah!"

Jeanette sighed. "Give it here, Eleanor. See, all you have to do is adjust the volume button, and in your phone settings, tap on sound and -"

"Jeanette! I'm only gonna say this once: get down here now! I NEED INTERNET!" Brittany screamed at the very top of her lungs.

As Jeanette went to the stairs, Eleanor grabbed her wrist.

"No need to go down there, Jeanette. Britt's just being... well, a brat, you know. Just stay up here and help me."

"I CAN HEAR YOU, ELEANOR!"

"My music-"

"... is not as important as my internet!"

The poor Chipette watched the pink- and light green-clad girls fighting back and forth.

"Am I the only one who acknowledges we have a sleepover tonight?" thought Jeanette.

Multiple knocks came at the door.

"Huh. Maybe... they forgot?" asked Theodore.

"Or... they aren't at home?" Alvin suggested.

"That's impossible! It's so unlike them to-"

And as Simon made his proposition, a purple figure appeared at their front entrance, facepalming herself, and opening the door.

"Finally..." Alvin groaned. Simon elbowed him. "OW! WHAT WAS THAT FOR-"

"Hey, Jeanette!" Simon and Theodore squeaked in unison.

"Hey," she sighed, looking exhausted already. "I... uh... guess you'll be wondering what took us so long to answer the door?"

"And... I suppose YOU'LL be wondering why we're a half hour later than usual?" Simon replied.
