1 month passed

Ever since (y/n) it Rhode win his little spar with Tex. He started to get praised by the other freelancers. He didn't want the attention but now he has to live with it. It also got him to go on more dangerous mission from the director. Though Carolina was getting distance from him. He wondered why,still he talked to wash,York,North and South a lot and been given them a few tips. Also he is getting close to Tex. When they spar or just talk he notice that she acted different with him than anyone else. The day came where the board was getting updated. (y/n) is walking down the hall with Wash.

(y/n): So what is going on that the Director had to call us?

Wash: Oh right, well one a month they update the board to see who is there best. I know you'll get the number one spot.

(y/n): I don't care for all of that. All that matter to me is looking out for my friends.

Wash: Whoa, Rhode you are the most selfless person I have ever meet.

(y/n): Well during time of conflict it is good to have a few friends who you know will go down to hell and back with you. I look out for them and they will for me am I right.

Wash: Totally.

(y/n): Wash do you know why Carolina is ignoring me?

Wash: Maybe,  it might be her competitive side. She has a habit of trying to outdo Tex. Since you beat her.

(y/n): She sees me as a threat.

Wash: Sort of.

As they made it they were in rows and the director spoke.

Director: As you all know today is the day where the board is updated. Now let's see the results.

The board started to move and soon it stop to reveal who is number one.

1. Rhode Island
2.Tex
3. Carolina
Etc. (I don't remember all)

(y/n)'s pov

I look around and saw some North, South, York, and Wash coming up to me.

North: Congrats pal.

South: Yeah what he said.

York: Rhode you are just full of surprises aren't you.

Wash: He sure is. I'm glad to be fighting with you.

(y/n): Thanks guys. In all honesty I never wanted to top spot. All I cared about is helping my friends.

North: Well spoken Rhode

Tex: I'll say.

I turn and saw Tex was in front of me without her helmet and with a smile.

Tex: Rhode, you better enjoy it while it lasts for I'm going to take it from you when we face off again.

Under my helmet I had a bit of a smirk and replied.

(y/n): Well see.

I look at where Carolina was and saw that she was looking at me with anger and jealous. After the announcement I went to talk to Carolina.

(y/n): Carolina wait.

Carolina: What do you want?

(y/n): I want to know why you are not talking to me?

Carolina: Tell me you said you were my friend.

(y/n): I am.

Carolina: Then why did you stabbed me in the back. You only got close to me just to get a chance to be number one.

(y/n): I never wanted it.

Carolina: Don't you say that. You have no ideas of what I lost.

I soon was gripping tightly my fist and walked up to her and said.

(y/n): I do and not everything is about you. I have to see the men and women observe with and called friends die in front of me. I lost all my family in the war and lost two of my closest friends. Don't you dare say that I don't know what loss is!!

I marched off before I saw her shock look. I turn my head and say.

(y/n): If you want the spot then you have to pass through Tex and me and we will not make it easy for you. Tex also has her eye on the spot.

I left to my room and took off my helmet and rubbed my eyes. During the time I am getting close to find out all the crimes the Director and Counselor did. Also I made a list of those who I want to get them out. But it might be difficult to convince Carolina the others Will Not be so hard. As I was thinking.

(y/n): *though*If I can't help you as a friend then being your rival will help you grow stronger.

Them unheard a knock on the door and saw  Tex there with a concern look in her face.

Tex: You alright Rhode?

(y/n): I don't know, Carolina though that I just used her to get to the spot. But I never did.

She walked towards me and sat on my bed and said.

Tex: Yeah she let's her competitive side make most of her judgements. Also I over heard of what you lost.

She came close and gave me a hug.

Tex:I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your family and friends.

I return the hug and replied.

(y/n): Thank you Tex.

Tex's pov

Why am I this soft on Rhode. I don't know and I don't care. He is not like most of the guys who have try to hit on me. He respects me and never does anything to offend me. When I got to know him more I saw a man who would stand with you. As I saw his eyes I can see the emotions he hides. Pain,sorrow,and guilt. I never knew why until I overheard him yell at Carolina. I got a bit teary of hearing he lost his family and those he considered as friends. When I hugged him and he returned it I felt safe and protected with his embrace. Then my heart started to thump more.

Tex:(though) Why is this happening to me. Am I falling for Rhode.

York: Hey Rhode are you al....

We saw York coming in and we just look at him and back then we let go.
I was rubbing my arm and said.

Tex: I'll talk to you later Rhode.

(y/n): Alright see you later.

(y/n)'s pov

After Tex left I look at York.

York: Sorry if I ruined it.

(y/n): It's alright you were just concern and it's understandable.

York: Thanks for not being mad. Me and the others were worried about you Rhode. Do you want to talk about it.

(y/n): No I just want to be alone in my thoughts if that is alright.

York: I understand and Rhode. Me, Wash,North and south are here for you my friend.

I nodded and he went off.

Timeskop 2 months later.

During the time things went in though Carolina tried to beat (y/n). She gotten beaten. Then they went to study about AI and Maine got a AI known as Sigma. (y/n)  didn't trust the AI and could some negative energy out of it. Then a few day later came his turn to receive his own AI. He went to the operation table and it took three hours and he was left to rest and when he woke up he was surrounded by his friends.

Wash: You alright Rhode.

(y/n): Yeah just a bit of all head ache.

Tex: Good to know we can't have you hurt now do we.

South: Oh my does our Tex have any feelings for Rhode.

Tex: What makes you think that?

South: Well you do spend the most time with him and seem to be a bit to close.

Tex: I only see Rhode as a friend who I can trust my life with and he knows that I'll do the same for him.

Underneath her helmet she blushed and sight to know that it wasn't noticed.

York: Yeah well how does it feel.

(y/n): Nothing different except a ringing.

??: That would be me.

The AI appeared to be a large man clad in Spartan armor and said.

Bravo: Hello I'm Bravo your personal AI Rhode.

(y/n): Nice to meet you.

Then the director came and said.

Director: Good to be you alright agent Rhode. Once you have recovered I want you and Tex to go to my office. I got a mission for you two.

(y/n)/Tex:understood Sir.

He left and it left him wonder what was the mission.
