He's a intelligent know-it-all asshole who thinks he's always right.

Nagisa Shiota is his name.

I am Kayano Kaede.

The catch, you say?

We are both sworn enemies who hate each other.

I guess it was fate for us to dislike each other...a lot.

But I'm completely fine with it.

Because there's no such thing as an unfair rivalry.

There may never be peace between us.

And that's how I like it.

I sit next to that girl in class.

Kayano's her name.

I'm Nagisa.

But I really mean it when I say that she doesn't pay attention.

She thinks she's so cute.

Hah. She should know that looks aren't everything.

She says I'm intelligent, but I don't get why that's a bad thing.

Sure, my social skills could use some work, but...

She really doesn't know what she's getting into.

I doubt the class knows why we're "enemies".

But that doesn't really matter.

All that does matter is that we hate each other.

And I mean it when I say that also.

As for the rest of the class, er, the "side people"...

We don't know the reason to why they fight.

We're the ones who live in peace.

Every day, it's an ongoing war for the two of them.

Plus, we don't know how to make it stop.

Maybe just a tiny bit of us want to do something about it.

But I doubt that we'd grab their attention anyway.

You could say that Kayano and I are friends, and the same goes for Nagisa and I.

But both of them together?

N-o-p-e.

It'll never work out.

But anyways...

I'm also one of the side people, but I'm fine with it.

What Kanzaki says is true.

Those two are completely in hate with each other.

I see them shoot dirty looks at each other, glaring, but never a smile.

Unless it was an evil smile, but that doesn't really matter.

I wanna do something about it.

Those two are my friends.

But somehow they dislike each other.

I don't understand why they can't just live in harmony like the rest of us during the school day.

Did I mention that they're also extremely competitive?

Whenever we have P.E., all they want to do it best and one-up each other, like their lives are on the line.

They've never said sorry to each other.

It's like they fight for pleasure.

Or maybe just glory.

It's a little confusing.

Simply put, they'll never be in love with each other if all they want to do is argue and bicker every single school day.

Huh, I've never thought of the two, dating each OTHER...

Nah.

It'll probably never happen.

Sup.

I mean, hey.

Well, I'm just another side person.

Honestly, we still do play a part in this class.

It's either to support Nagisa or Kayano.

There's no in-between.

I stay pretty neutral.

It'd be unfair if I supported Kayano more than Nagisa, or vice versa.

I do think that we, the side people, should do something about it.

We're, like, the bystanders in all of this.

Well, on the very first day of school...

Nagisa and Kayano were good with each other.

Kayano was the one who gave him his signature pigtails.

But, one day...

Everything changed.

They had shifted gears, and turned against each other.

It was probably only for a week or two that they were friends.

They don't understand that we're all supposed to be a team.

on the same side, but they're on different ones.

I wish that they'd just make up.

That's the only thing that I want.

Ahem, how should I start this?

Well...

I'm also a side person.

Besides Nagisa and Kayano, we're all the side people, which is a little unfair.

It doesn't mean that we don't matter.

We care about the two of them.

They're students, like us.

With the same tasks.

But...somehow they saw flaws in each other...

And now they're on different pages of the same book.

The side people are on the same page.

Every time you see them argue, your heart hurts a little.

Because you're used to knowing that we're all teammates.

They're against each other, like fire and water.

It drives us CRAZY.

All us side people have done is sigh and move on.

We can't bring them together.

But I see a little hope.

Because opposites attract...

I'm neutral, aka, a side person.

The rivalry between Nagisa and Kayano has been going on for a little while.

Probably a few months or so.

Honestly, I'm sick of being one of the side people.

I've done nothing but sit and watch them go back and forth with swear words and insults all day.

The Kayano I know isn't truly harsh.

And the Nagisa I know isn't mean, either.

I just don't know what happened.

In fact, I thought that they'd be cute together.

I even considered bringing them together.

But not like this.

Seriously, their fighting doesn't get much done in class.

I think it's pointless.

It's not just me that I want to do something.

The whole class is annoyed as well.

I'm thinking about scheduling a class meeting (excluding Kayano and Nagisa) so that we could talk about it elsewhere.

I don't know.

But I guess all is fair in love and war.
