"I knew I smelled humans," said Lesley the daughter of the people who own the motel. "It won't be long until the whole town finds out. We have to act fast,"

Her dad Sean agreed, "I wonder if they can shoot. We should get them stakes and guns loaded with wooden bullets. Those kids are too young to die now. Thank you Audrey for telling us,"

Audrey left their office to go back to Corey and Anika to make sure that they're safe. She passed by the man who taunted them and he looked so smug. It made her stomach turn.

"Hey there, Mr Sean. Now what will we do with the humans?"

Lesley shook her head in disbelief, "we're not doing anything,"

This upsetted the man. "They're our food. We cannot just leave them to walk out of the town unharmed,"

"But we will," told Wesley, Lesley's brother.

"Don, they're our responsibility. They came into this town not knowing it's secrets..."

"... so you expect them to leave knowing it?" Don shot back.

Sean didn't reply. It could be dangerous for humans knowing their secret and to know exactly where their town is. Hunters could storm in and kill them all in broad daylight, which comes against the idea of the town's intentions.

A vampire town to keep vampires safe. A haven. But with them here their haven could be compromised.

"Listen here, Don, you leave those humans alone. Understood,"

Don grinned and shoved Sean with his pointing finger against his chest, "you don't own me. Got that? And fine. I'll book a room, think I'll sleep right here. You won't deny me service right?"

It was silent. No one stired. Don had this proud smile on his face. He has them now and if the owners won't help him he'll help himself. His goal, to get to those humans one way or the other.

Sean felt defeated. He knew the type of person Don is. He has left many to lose their businesses and he wasn't planning on losing his only way of income. "Fine,"

"I want a specific room though," Don added taunting Sean.

All Sean could do was agree.

"We have to get to the others," Corey said pacing up and down in their room.

Anika nodded her head. "True... true but the professional said we should stay in the room,"

Corey stopped pacing and looked at her friend. She's known Anika almost as long as she's known herself so she could tell that Anika was terrified and normally she'd be brave enough for both of them but how could she be that now in this situation?

She stopped pacing altogether and sat down next to Anika on the bed. She didn't have any words of encouragement and just places her arm on Anika's shoulder and looked at her. "I don't know how to protect you this time,"

She said in a low voice. Anika nodded her head and tears came down her cheeks. "I know... and I don't want you to worry about me in any way. I'm not your child, I'm your best friend,"

Corey chuckled and pulled Anika in for a long passionate kiss. They pulled back when they heard a knock on the door. Corey cleared her throat. "I'll get it,"

Anika nodded her head.

It was Audrey and she grinned and helped herself in, "the owner said he'll do his best to help you guys. I think we should get more vampires to help you guys. I have to go again but I'll round up as much good vampires that I know of,"

They nodded their heads, "just don't take too long,"

Audrey gave Corey a small smile and a nod to match it, "I'll try my best,"

Corey grinned and locked the door after Audrey and walked up to Anika. There's only one way she could think about that would help her get her mind of everything happening. She stood right in front of Anika then started taking of Anika's top with a playful grin on her face she leaned forward making Anika move upper on the bed. They made eye contact and started stroking each other on the parts they like most of each other's body which left Corey's hand on Anika's hips and Anika's on Corey's arms. She leaned into Anika and they locked lips.

Mr Sean looked at Don as he unlocked the door. He didn't want to but he gave the key over to Don who couldn't stop smirking. All that was on his mind was the warm sweet fresh blood pouring uncontrollably into his mouth. Since he's moved into town fifteen years ago, he hasn't had blood directly from a human's veins and he was going to enjoy every second of it. He looked up into Mr Sean's sorrowful red eyes but couldn't care about his feelings or the human's life. He cleared his throat. "Aren't we forgetting something?"

Mr Sean sighed and looked up into Wendell's cold eyes. "You have my permission to enter, Don,"

He was delighted to hear that invite, letting out a soft laugh as he helped himself into the room. Mr Sean followed shortly.

Don looked around the room. There was a double bed dressed in grey and white. Four pillows. Next to each side of the bed was a small bedside table. On the left side of the wall was a large landscape painting of horses drinking water from a stream with a dresser beneath it and on the right side was a large window. Dark grey curtains drawn closed. A medium sized flat screen tv hung on the wall opposite the bed and underneath the tv was a small dark brown coffee table with two remotes on it and a couple of magazines.

"The bathr..."

"... no need for that," Don angrily interuptted Mr Sean. He turned around to look as him who was still standing at the door, "you and I both know that's not why I'm here,

Mr Sean nodded his head.

"You can leave and let me be,"

Mr Sean stood at the door for a few seconds. Afraid to leave because he knows the second he leaves Don he will strike and he can't help but feel that it will be his fault. He slowly turned and closed the door behind him. One thing on his mind. He has to warn whoever it is staying on the floor beneath Don.
