I watched as mama danced with a stranger, she wore the brightest smile ever and I haven't seen her eyes twinkle like that in over years. After dada passed away mama hasn't been herself and she never looked at another man again, I assured her that I was fine with her moving on because I knew she was lonely. I knew she longed for a man of her own but perhaps she felt as if though she'd be betraying dada even when I told her that he'd want her to move on.

I loved joy on mama, it warmed my cold heart. I'll be honest though, I was supposed to be cold but I still feel like my old self. Aside from hunting, I'm still just Nicolene.

I leaned against the door frame of the entrance to the hall where all the cruisers were dancing their hearts out. Aviana stood next to me and I could sense her smiling.

"Good evening, " she greeted. She must have just woken up, probably already fed as well.

"How do you do, Aviana?"

I glanced over to the vampire, she dressed her thin lips in red which really complimented her pale skin. She smirked and looked into my eyes, "anxious. We must get you to train and most importantly we must have you turn humans already so that they can start training as well, "

I nodded my head, it made sense. "I have no idea what to do, with whom to begin, "

She sighed and observed me, "why don't we start with the captain? It's a start, isn't it?"

I shrugged and glanced over to where Grant was chatting with a woman. "Do you think I should change him too?"

Aviana shook her head, "I don't think so. I don't think you should be turn both your mom and Grant,"

"Why not?"

Aviana shrugged, "maybe we'd need them in their human state in the future. Right now they have the advantage of walking out in the sun and perhaps they could be our eyes and ears during the day,"

I nodded that made sense. "So... you expect me to just walk up to the captain and bite him?"

Aviana chortled and placed her hand on my shoulder, "why not?"

I wanted to tell her how wrong that is but she walked off before I could even open my mouth. I wasn't in the mood to dance or socialise so I decided to head back to my room. I stepped into the hallway and approaching me was the captain. He looked dashing in his bright white uniform and his hat. His golden buttons reflected marvellously off from him. He stopped every now and then to converse with those around him while wearing his bright warm smile.

I slowly walked towards him debating on whether or not I should stop and say hi. I've never been a strong speaker, I've always dreaded doing speeches on high school and if it wasn't for marks then I'd choose not to. My palms would become really sweaty and I would stutter. And eye contact only made it worse so I try to avoid that as much as I can.

We neared each other and the way he looked at me I could tell he was going to introduce himself. "Hello, dear, "

He spoke, his voice symphonic. I must admit he is rather handsome, he has faint lines when he smiles and has a neat but thick black moustache with traces of white hairs. He sparked me his friendly smile that made his pale blue eyes twinkle.

"Hello, sir... Captain, " I mumbled and wiped my open palms against my yellow dress. I was nervous what could I say? He's not only a man of power around here but I'm supposed to be getting him on my team.

He chuckled, "sir, captain, Sir Captain whichever you like, "

I looked at the man before for a few short seconds before I giggled. He has this energy that instantly calmed me.

"Tell me, " he continued, "are you enjoying yourself?"

I nodded my head, "yes Sir Captain, "

"That's good to hear and by what shall I call you?"

"N... I am Nicolene, Sir Captain, "

He reached out his hand and gave me a firm shake, "it is lovely to meet you daughter, "

I gave him a small smile, "Sir... I..."

"Yes?" He raised one of his bushy eyebrows curiously.

I looked around us and there were two cleaners walking off in the distance. I watched as the turned a corner and disappeared and grabbed the captain and pulled him into a supply closet where I cupped his mouth to muffle out his screams. I penetrated my fangs deep into his veins and drank. My venom pumped into his body as he became weaker. I listened carefully to his heart rate because at this point I wasn't just poisoning him with my venom, I was feeding. His struggles became weaker and so did his heartbeat and I twisted his neck and instantly killed him.

Aviana didn't even bother to knock she just entered my room with a two-litre bottle filled with blood. This was our new norm, the way mom and Greg, humans, just watched her come in and didn't even find it strange.

The captain laid on the floor unconsciously, he must wake up soon because the people are beginning to wonder.

Aviana lifted the bottle up to show us she brought the blood and diverted her eyes to the lifeless body on my floor, "for when he wakes up, "

We nodded our heads and heard a limp murmur emerging from the captain's mouth and all eyes fell on him. He laid on his stomach and was trying to first get a sense of himself and his body, to feel his limps again. His hand stirred weakly as he tried to get up. We didn't even bother to help the man, he gained some strength and rose to his feet.

He scanned the room and each individual in it before dusting himself off, "what happened here?"

His small eyes were blood red and his skin a ton paler than the day before and yet he doesn't know this yet.

"Answer me!" He demanded.

I was a nervous wreck, confrontation, the literal worst. I felt the blood I drank this morning creeping back up and so I cupped my hand on my mouth.

Aviana rolled her eyes and folded her arms still clutching the blood. "I'll jump right to it then, right Captain?"

He nodded his head and stared curiously at her.

"Nicolene over there, I think you've met?"

He gave a firm assuring nod.

"Well... She and I are vampires and we turned you into one as well, "

He shook his head and looked at me. "No, "

"Yes!" Greg bawled.

"Those... Fictional, "

I nodded my head, "yes they are or at least that's what I believe before I was kidnapped and taken to the Count Dracula's castle to be fed on, "

The terrified look on mama's face said it all. She didn't want to hear what happened to me, she doesn't want to know how I became what I am because it cuts deep. And frankly, I don't want her to because I don't want her to hurt.

The captain held his head and winced in pain. The migraines that come with changing is the worst and most intense pains ever and the only way they can go away is if he feeds.

"Sir Captain, you have to drink that blood Aviana brought for you, "

"No! I will not be apart of your cult, "

"Captain... You must, or else the migraines will worsen and you will die, "

"If I'm a vampire, aren't I already dead?" He asked Aviana.

"Yes, but you won't stay undead for long unless you drink, "

He shook his head. He really doesn't want to believe us.

"Sir Captain... How do you feel? What do you feel? How's your hearing or sense of smell? Trust me, drink that blood and you will know for a fact that everything that's happening to your body and your sense... Is very much real, "

It seemed as if he was listening to me. He focused on himself and I know that he must have heard the blood as it travelled through mama and Greg's veins. Or the chatter of those outside. He must have felt this bitter cold that just can't go away. Feel the strength, feel this big difference.

He looked at Aviana and just knew that he craved that blood. She handed him the bottle and we watched as he slowly opened it and just kind of stared at the thick juicy contents. He looked at each and every single one of us before he took his first drink of what he will now always need.

Hey, guys, I'm curious. I was wondering if all my vampire queens should be queer or not or is that a bit too much if all of them are? Or d'you want Nicolene to be queer or not? Lemme know and thanks for reading.
