I pried my eyes open. My vision was blurry, but soon cleared up. I was laying on the ground. My hand was in front of my eyes. I heard a song in the distance. I couldn't make out what it was. I sat up. My head starting pounding with the slight movement. I quickly sat up against the wall and realized that the room I was in was full on cement. I looked to my left and saw what looked to be a cell door. Bars. I looked even farther to my right and saw a little square opening. I let my body fall to the floor once more and crawled to the opening, hoping someone was on the other side.

"Hello?" I said, weakly, looking through the square.

"Charlie?" It was Damon.

He propped himself on his stomach and stared into my eyes.

"Where the hell are we, love?" I said, doing the same.

"We are in cells, sweetheart. I hope it's not what I think it is,"

"What do you think it is?"

"Well, if I'm not mistaking, we are Augustine Vampires now."

"You mean the Augustine?"

"You've heard of it?"

"I knew someone that was in it,"

"Who?"

"Enzo,"

"No way,"

"What?"

"He was my cell buddy when I was here before,"

"Now way," I mocked.

"What? I was here..before. I was actually here for awhile."

"Great, it's good to know how long we'll be here,"

"Where is your brother?"

"I don't know, love. Do you think if I did I would ask for his help?"

Just then, a scientist came and stopped in front of my cell door with a clipboard.

"Look at you," He smiled, looking at me." An original vampire. There are so many tests we could run on you. I'm personally excited."

"Leave her alone, nerd." Damon said, standing up. I did the same.

"Damon, shut up. I can handle myself,"

"I know you can." He said.

"Alright, Debbie and Gale, I need you to get both of them set up on a bed," The scientist said.

Before Damon or I could say anything, vervain darts were shot into our necks.

When I woke up, my vision was blurred again, until it cleared up. I heard the music much louder. I was moving. But I was tied down to something. Something that was rolling. I looked to my side and saw Damon was right next to me. His eyes were open, but he was weak. I could tell. He mouth the words "Hang on,"

There was a song playing on loop. Walking After Midnight by Patsy Cline was playing. The beds stopped moving. Damon and I appeared to be right next to each other.

"Now," The scientist said, holding up a stake. "First experiment."

He stabbed the stake into my heart. It hurt like hell, but it didn't kill me. And he saw that. Damon was flinching at the sight of my pain.

"Leave her alone. Come on. Everyone knows that a normal stake can't kill and original,"

"No," He said. "But a white oak stake can,"

He happen to have one on the tray sitting at the end of my table. The scientist started jotting notes down. Moments later he put the clip board down and started to check me out.

"Why am I in here anyway?" Damon said. "You know I'll hate you even more every time you do anything to her. Don't touch her again,"

"Let's just say, you're here for entertainment." The scientist smiled before taking off my daylight ring. "How long can an original survive in the sunlight without a daylight ring?"

"Don't do it." Damon got angrier and angrier by the second.

The scientist ignored Damon and ripped the curtains open. Every inch of my body started burning. I tried to hold in my pain, but every second, it got worse. I cried out in pain and begged for the scientist to stop. But he wouldn't stop until I was dead or until he was satisfied.

"Stop it!" Damon started wiggling as hard as he could as to try and break free.

"Hey," The scientist gave a signal to the other scientists and they hauled Damon away.

"Wait a second!"

"Damon!" I screamed through the pain.

The sun continued to rip through my skin as the heartless doctor watched.
