Lynn Jr. looked on as the ambulance ran off with her little brother's body. That pale body that showed signs of numerous beatings caused by everyone except the sisters who ran away. Not like she could blame them for seeing how cruel and heinous they truly were to him. She could barely stop her tears from flowing seeing how she began this entire thing due to those softball gods.

Sighing, she turned around and saw her parents talking to the police. She could tell that things won't end well for them seeing how the police looked at their parents with disgust and anger. She could see the never ending tears from her mother's face and the ashamed look of her father. They knew better. She knew better. But instead of using common sense...they decided to kick their brother outside and treat him like an object.

As she was reflecting about this entire situation, she was unaware of the commotion coming from the crowd watching this entire thing. Reflection that stopped once her older sister, Lori placed her hand on her shoulder shocking her out of it.

"Lori? What's going on?" Lynn said before her older sister pointed across the street to see an angry Ronnie Anne who had tears running down her face. Next to her was Clyde McBride who looked ready to cry since this was his best friend. Both sisters looked at each other and slowly approached the duo who quickly noticed them coming.

"YOU..." Ronnie Anne shouted before she was held back by Clyde who on longer looked at Lori with love in his eyes. He hated her now since she was part of the reason that his best friend was lying on a body bag.

"So now you feel guilty?" Clyde said which made the girls flinch. He didn't sound like the cheerful boy who would often hang out with them and their brother. He sounded like someone who hated their guts.

"Listen, we made a mistake however...." Lynn started to say before Ronnie Anne interrupted her.

"A MISTAKE?! YOU KILLED MY FRIEND FOR SOMETHING FOOLISH LIKE BAD LUCK AND YOU HAD THE GALL TO CALL THIS A MISTAKE!!!" Ronnie Anne said.

"We can still make this right if we can..." Lori started to say until Clyde interrupted her with hollow laughter.

"You killed my best friend. The only person who stood by me through everything. You can't possibly expect me to find someone else who would fill the hole that you craved in my heart." Clyde said.

"Clyde.." Lori said. Clyde looked at her for a bit before tearing himself away. This was the woman who he loved and wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Yet she was also the woman who killed his best friend and he couldn't live with himself if he moved past it. So with a heavy heart, he told the Louds his feelings on the entire matter.

"I'm not finished. I used to think that you would own up to your mistakes and try to make things better. However, that seemed to be a mistake. You didn't just kill my best friend. You killed my brother. You have his cold blood on your hands and no matter what you do...you can't ever make up for what you did." Clyde said.

"Can't you find it in your hearts to..." Lynn started before Ronnie Anne shouted again.

"NO. DON'T YOU DARE TRY TO GET SYMPATHY FROM US! YOU KILLED OUR FRIEND AND WE WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU." Ronnie Anne said before Clyde dragged them away, but not before glaring at the girls with all the hate that he could muster.

"I can't believe this." Lori said before her little sister Lola rushed towards her with tears in her eyes.

"Lola? What's wrong?" Lori asked.

"Th..They're arresting Mommy and Daddy." Lola said causing the sisters to look over towards their other sisters who were trying to stop the police from arresting them. The other police officers slowly pulled out their tasers and were about to fire until Rita spoke.

"Girls. Enough." She said which caused the rest of the sisters to look at her.

"But, you're getting arrested for something that...." Lana said before Rita continued.

"Don't try to excuse what we did. We killed our own blood due to our superstitious nature and are paying the price for it. Please let us atone for our sin by letting these men take us away." Rita said. The daughters reluctantly agreed and watched their parents get carted off to jail. Slowly the sisters looked at each other and wondered how one mistake was all that it took for everything to unravel.

A mistake that cost them everything including the respect and admiration of the boy who was like a second brother to them all. The sisters could no longer hold down the tears that rushed out of their eyes. Since this was the beginning of a life of hardship and their path to redemption may not be close in sight.

If only they heeded Leni's and Lucy's words than none of them wouldn't be in this position right now. But, it was safe to say that they royally screwed things up for themselves in the long run.

Hope you enjoyed the chapter...Bye 👋
