It was late at night. About ten minutes after ten. By the sound of it, the adults were still partying. It was hard to tell whether the other kids were up yet or not. It didn't really matter to Tiny. He stared at the ceiling of the attic, lost in thought. Laying beside him on the old couch they had found up there, Hu rested his chin on his master's stomach.

All was silent up in the attic.

Sighing softly, Tiny looked over at the window. The night sky was pitch black and free of clouds. He could see the stars shining brightly out there. His brown eyes fixed on the biggest and brightest star, he took a deep breath and let it out slowly before he declared quietly, "I wish my whole family would just disappear..." Staring at the star a little longer, he reached up and turned out the light. He then closed his eyes. Moments later, he was fast asleep with Hu curled up beside him.

Hours passed. It was now four or five in the morning. The sun wasn't up yet. And the wind was howling. The branches of a nearby tree were being shaken up pretty violently. One would think that it was gonna break at any moment. Whoever was thinking that was thinking the right thing. A few more shakes and there was a loud crack. A split second later, the branch crashed down on the power lines, damaging them badly.

All of Illumination Avenue experienced a blackout another second later.
