Jaemin was listening to Renjun's story about something– he didn't really pay attention honestly. "Can you not overthink about sending him a message?"

Snapping him out of his thoughts, he fumbles to hide his phone back in his jean pocket as if he was caught by a strict teacher in class.

"I wasn't–"

"You literally stared at Jeno's contact and hesitated to type something." Renjun points out with a blank look, his monotone making Jaemin cringe.

"Was it that obvious?"

"Really obvious, babe." They both snap their heads up to see Jeno's friends. Amy smiling teasingly.

Jaemin opens his mouth to say something but got beat by Patrine. Already knowing him well enough to sense he was going to start rambling his defense between him and Jeno.

"We know what happened, he told us." Surprisingly she smiles sweetly, to which Renjun fails to hide his confusion as he rarely sees her like this.

"Just to reassure you, we're not mad. Just... Disappointed." Hakim sheepishly scratches his nape as if he was the one on the spot instead of Jaemin.

"I know... And I'm really sorry about that." Jaemin couldn't stop apologizing, even to Jeno's friends whom he knows cares for him a lot and can be defensive.

He understands, Jeno did nothing wrong. But was just accused of badly.

And Jaemin made the mistake Jeno has warned him since the beginning; He assumed and believed the rumors too quickly before finding out the whole story.

"You made the same mistake as I did, Jaem." Renjun has told him after their discussion. "But you're more lucky as you still have a chance to fix this, he gave you a chance because you realized straight away."

"Your ego is not as high as mine thanks to him. So all I can tell you is to not throw this away, because I know for sure he would never do that unless you're the one who breaks it off."

Being supportive yet also pointing out Jaemin's obvious mistake; to which he is thankful for, he doesn't want the elder boy to sugar coat it.

Jaemin tries so hard to be patient, but as mentioned before, it's hard to wait.

Amy hugs him, giving comfort and reassurance that it will all be okay. "Both of you just need a breather from all of this, especially the gossips." She mumbles against his shoulder.

"Yeah, he was already stressing out about them at the party. He knew it would happen– just didn't expect... You know..." Renjun nods in agreement.

Jaemin harshly rubs his face with his hands, a groan escaping his lips. "No wonder," muttering under his breath as he feels a gentle pat on his head.

"It's okay, Jaem. He knows you didn't mean to." Hakim tells him. All he received was a small nod in defeat. "Don't give up, lad."

"Yeah, as far as I know, he feels bad about it too." Amy spoke up, "he asked me if what he decided was too harsh or being dramatic."

"He didn't break up though, he just said they needed space to think more clearly." Hakim furrows his eyebrows.

"Exactly, still, he felt bad." Gesturing at Jaemin, Amy then shrugs her shoulders.

"How is he now? Like, besides that." Renjun asks, feeling more welcomed into the group when they didn't attack him.

Patrine already knew anyway, then Hakim kept pestering Jeno about his sudden recent absence or late attendance.

Surprisingly, Amy only knew because of the couple (which is very late). Not the other way around. Low-key, Renjun is thankful for that since she can be... A blabbermouth to Jaemin.

Patrine adjusts her hair tie when she felt it getting lose to keep her neat ponytail intact. "Well, recently he has been checking up on his parents."

"Huh? Why, What happened?" Jaemin asks in the next second.

Biting her inner cheek, she sighs. "I asked if I could tell you, he said I can." Jaemin gesturing for her to continue, impatiently waiting.

"It's nothing serious but it is still reasonable for him to be worried about." She starts off.

"They were supposed to come back home from abroad about a week or so ago, probably around the same time he and Renjun started talking again."

Renjun instinctively perks up at that, "but their plans kept getting cancelled for a lot of obvious reasons. Then it also has been raining heavily there so of course they couldn't come home immediately."

"Jeno has been anticipating for their arrival, he misses them so much. Hence why he was so down everytime they call him and update him about the situation."

"But they're okay, so don't worry about that." She finishes her explanation with a faint smile adorning her face.

Jaemin rubs his temples. "Now I feel bad."

"Oh goodness," Renjun pinches the bridge of his nose. "Jaemin..."

"I can't help it, he was already stressing out about other things and then here I am, disappointing him even more."

"Jaemin, don't think so negatively. It will only make things worse and scarily enough, make it happen." Hakim scolds, frowning deeply.

They all nodded in agreement while staring at Jaemin who sighs loudly.

"This really sucks." Renjun snorts at him as he tears his gaze away from his book.

Initially, they planned on studying together at Jaemin's house. But when the blond haired boy saw Jeno walking into the library with Haechan, Renjun was dragged along with him.

Speaking of Renjun, he might act like Jaemin is the only one suffering here, but he is also miserable because of a certain tanned male from across the room.

He tries to hide it by teasing Jaemin's own love life. But of course, the younger boy knows him well enough too.

"Shut up, Jun. I can call Haechan to come here any second."

"And I shall do the same with Jeno." He remarks.

Jaemin pouts, "oh please do. I want him in my arms again, and kiss him, and squeeze him and–"

Renjun rolls his eyes and flicks his forehead, hearing him in pain afterwards. "What's even stopping you? It's been two weeks."

"You guys told me to wait." Jaemin deadpans.

"Until you have your shit together– which you kind of do." Renjun emphasizes, "honestly, you should make the move now like I told you."

"You're mainly just saying that because I'm annoying you with my slightly better love life obstacle." Jaemin quips, having Renjun scoff in annoyance.

"Whatever," he grumbles in defeat. "Just do it now or never."

"What if he isn't ready? Like– I could be desperate." Jaemin stresses, glancing at his lover who was too focused on the... Journal?

Oh goodness–

"You are desperate, and as far as I know, Jeno has been ready. You're acting as if he's a virgin or you guys haven't fucked yet." Renjun rants, getting even more annoyed.

"But–"

"Jaemin," he drawls his name warningly with glaring eyes. "Stop overthinking negatively and get your man back before he doubts your love for him too."

"Shit– you're so right." Jaemin gasps, sitting up more straight before smirking, "oh by the way, Haechan has been staring at you too."
