"You're here!" Jeno says filled with enthusiasm, despite who it was, he was glad that the person turned up.

The elder boy drops his backpack on the grass and sits down across from Jeno. "Don't ask why." He grumbles to his ex boyfriend.

The brunet boy raises a brow but respects his words, not questioning his sudden agreement to be present on his generous offer.

"How are you today, Injunnie?" He gently starts off the conversation first.

"Don't call me that." Renjun snaps back right away, teeth gritted tightly.

Jeno bites his lower lip, attempting to keep the smile etched on his face. "I guess we should get straight to it then." He mumbles.

"I never cheated."

"Bullshit." Renjun deadpans.

Sighing, Jeno was not surprised even in the slightest bit– actually, who would at this point?

"And why is that?" Asking regardless of Renjun's attitude towards him right now, he tries to maintain calm and collected.

One of them needs to have at least some sense in them left in this confrontation.

"I fucking saw it."

"So what if you saw it? What actually matters right now is if I had kissed back or not, which I did not and would never do that if I am in a relationship."

"Then you're a hypocrite for saying that because guess what, you did kiss back while we were still together." Renjun sasses, visibly stubborn.

"Why? Was it you who was forced on a kiss? Then got the title as the "toxic person and slut of the school" for having these hookups and forced relationships?"

"Jeno, it was obvious you kissed back. You didn't even push him away!"

"Renjun, are you serious right now?" Jeno's goal of maintaining to be calm was already going downhill.

As much as he cares and still respects his ex boyfriend, he can't tolerate with this kind of attitude. Being framed as the bad guy? Hell no.

"I was pinned against the locker by that aggressive guy, I rejected him when he tried to get with me, but obviously he got mad because he did that."

"How would you feel if you were accused as the cheater when you couldn't do anything at that moment– and you didn't even kiss back!" Jeno states.

"I don't believe you."

"You never have and probably never will!" Jeno exclaims in frustration.

He's at his breaking point. And if he's being honest with you, he's actually disappointed with himself for this.

He really didn't want to fight with Renjun, he had hoped it'll go smoothly and Renjun would finally get his right senses back together. But unfortunately for him, it didn't happen.

"What the hell are you saying?" Renjun furrows his eyebrows, forehead creasing as he clenches his jaw.

Jeno takes a deep breath before spilling everything he had bottled up.

"You never listened to me when we were dating, you always wanted to be the one who's right, always bossing me around and telling me things I often overthink every day."

"Jeno, you got a C on a Math test. Are you kidding?"

"I tried my best, babe."

"You're dating me, a straight A student. You should've listened when I offered to tutor you."

"Hey babe, I can't make it to our date tonight..."

"Are you serious, Jeno?"

"Injunnie, I'm sorry but–"

"I spent all this time preparing everything and you just bailed on me last minute."

"Babe–"

Before Jeno could continue, the call ends. It has him sighing as he stares at himself in the mirror.

He couldn't go out with his boyfriend tonight, there were some plans that have changed and apparently, his parents are coming home the same night.

He was just informed an hour ago, hence it was last minute.

Was he a bad boyfriend for canceling his date with Renjun and instead choosing to see his parents the second they step in their family home after five months?

"Why?"

"You look horrible, have you even seen yourself in the mirror, Jeno?"

"I think I look okay..."

"We're going to my cousin's birthday party, not a strip club for fucks sakes."

"I'll go change then..."

"Now you're being a brat."

"I'm just saying I'm going to change, like you wanted me to."

"Use your brain, Jeno. Jesus Christ."

"Babe, why didn't you answer my phone call last night?"

"I fell asleep."

Renjun didn't fell asleep the night before, in fact, he was up until 4 am. Out with some friends, not including his lover.

"Why were you with Hakim?"

"I was helping him with–"

"I don't want to hear it. For now on, stop hanging out with him."

"Huh? Why?"

"Stop asking and just do as I say, Jeno."

"....okay, babe..."

"I love you, Injunnie." Jeno said with a sweet smile adorning his pretty face.

However, the elder boy continues to scroll through his phone, pretending he didn't hear anything.

Much to Jeno's dismay, he didn't dare to bother as he was afraid Renjun was doing something important.

"I had continued to love you despite all of those shit, and you dare to say I was a toxic person to be with. Tell me what you've done for me, Renjun."

Jeno says with a brow raised, as if testing Renjun's mind right now.

"For the love of God, you even gaslighted and brainwashed Haechan into avoiding me and going against me– when I never did anything to him, he did it for you though. Lucky."

Jeno says sarcastically in the end, chuckling as if he was amused. "He was never supposed to be apart in all of this drama, Jaemin as well. But you brought them along with you, for what?"

"You brought Hakim, Patrine and Amy with you." Renjun points out.

"I didn't bring them with me. They wanted to be there for me. They actually listened to what I had to say." Jeno retorts.

"In fact, I never asked for them to be there for me. Never bossed them around, gaslighted, brainwashed, or even toyed them to be my puppets." He emphasizes straight away.

He didn't let Renjun say something this time, he was sure the elder boy would say the same thing. But they all know it is not true.

"You made me lost a lot of things, even myself. I did everything you wanted me to do because I loved you, and I was scared to lose you."

"If you have asked anyone else, especially the guy who kissed me, you'll know I was a victim in that situation. Not just you. You were most likely the witness of what happened."

"So Renjun, I can't apologize for something I didn't do."

"I've tried talking to you, but you have always pushed me away. You can continue to do that as you please, as long as you are now informed of what truly happened. I still respect you as a person."

"But please, amidst all this don't push Jaemin away from me. He didn't do anything, and I don't want to do anything wrong to him."

Also to those who are wondering, those flashbacks happened a little after their dating stage. So like– it was lovey dovey and smooth at first, but later it didn't.
