Ivypaw returned to camp after battle training, before entering the pine tunnel she remembered Littleclouds cobwebs and went back to fetch them. When she entered through the pine tunnel she realized the camp was packed with wounded warriors and noticed Smokefoot. Owlpaw!

Ivypaw paced around camp looking for her brother. She overheard Russetfur reporting to Blackstar.

"We didn't have enough warriors we had to retreat. They marked over our scent markers as soon as we left," The deputy growled.

"I had that blind apprentice! If its litermate hadn't got in the way!" Owlpaws boast was just beside the medicine cat den.

Ivypaw raced over seeing Whitepaw and Cedarheart listening in on the apprentices boasting.

"Owlpaw! Are you hurt? You shouldn't of been out there fighting! You just became an apprentice!" Ivypaw fretted over her brother looking over him for serious wounds.

"He's fine Ivypaw only a few scratches, thanks for the cobweb. I'm glad we got it when we did." Littlecloud meowed as he patched up Smokefoot.

"Ivypaw your just jealous, because you haven't been able to be in a real battle and I did on my first day," Owlpaw sneered.

"You could of been hurt!" Ivypaw cried out.

"Are you saying I'm weak!?" Owlpaw challenged.

"Kits! Stop at once. Ivypaw Owlpaw is fine and Owlpaw you should of ran to camp for help instead of throwing yourself at expierenced apprentices!" Tallpoppy was on the scene in an instant.

"Whatever," Owlpaw slinked of to boast toe Snaketail and Ratscar.

Ivypaw looked down in dissappointment.

Tallpoppy wrapped her tail around her kit. " Your brother is just trying to prove himself. He's feeling challenged by you."

"Then you should of just let us become apprentices together!" Ivypaw felt herself just burst. "It's all your fault!"

Ivypaw raced out of the pine tunnel and ran as far as she could. She needed to get away from Tallpoppy and Littlecloud's unfairness. She needed Rowanberry to tell her her truth. Before she knew it she realized she had passed the Thunderclan border. There had just been a battle here there might still be cats lingering testing Shadowclan. Ivypaw quickly turned to run, but was pounced on.

Thunderclan scent surrounded her. She quickly kicked back with her hind legs and turned to face her attacker hissing. She recognized the light brown tabby tom from the gathering. Rowanclaw had pointed out the tom to her. He had just become a warrior, but Ivypaw didn't remember his name.

"Are you testing Thunderclan? Crossing the borders after a battle?" He quickly glanced around her. "Are there more of you?" He hissed.

"No! I-" Ivypaw slunk back. She couldn't tell this cat she was running from her problems. She looked up to the sky seeing a hawk. "I was following the hawk to make sure he didn't come back to camp. Tawnypelt is expecting kits any day now and hawks-"

"Yea," the tom looked up seeing the hawk and opened his mouth as if trying to find another Shadowclan scent but failed. "I understand."

Ivypaw tilted her head confused. This cats mood had changed quickly. Why?

"You should still get out of our territory," the tom advised her almost pushing her out as he looked around.

"I was just on my way!" Ivypaw grumbled and turned jumping back onto her side of the border. She turned back, but the tom had vanished.

Ivypaw shook her head and started back to Shadowclan camp.

"Ivypaw what are you doing?" Snaketail padded up with Blackstar and Whitepaw.

"Oh I uh saw a thrush but it ran down here and over the border," Ivypaw lied.

Snaketail hissed looking at the border. "This is why we moved it! Too much Shadowclan prey stray over there and leave us hungry!" Snaketail dug his claws into the dirt.

Blackstar nodded. "We'll soon have this peace of land. Its not our fault Thunderclan is allowing kittypets and rogues into their clans. They don't have true clan born cats that actually need the prey." Blackstar turned his head to Ivypaw. "Come hunt with us by the lake since your not with a patrol."

"You can partner with me!" Whitepaw meowed excitedly.

Ivypaw nodded and looked back to the border feeling her skin under her fur get hot remembering she crossed the border and lied about it. From now on she swore to not ever get that distracted. Like Rowanclaw said Borders are code and code was life. She padded alongside her denmate to hunt wodering then why would the Thunderclan cat be so calm when she crossed the border?
