(Y/n)'s pov

Ah, the dance, I've been asked to do the karaoke or something to keep everyone entertained. Not a bad idea Ozpin. Had to leave my armour including my helmet for the suit. Risky but we'll be fine. Already got maximum security in my dorm. I've got a dance partner which is Velvet. Cute and beautiful she is. I do hope she's ready for tonight. I am at her dorm waiting outside patiently and with flowers.

(A/n: Not mine.... Again)

She came out of her dorm feeling embarrassed, her dress is red and she wore her necklace. She was prepared but still embarrassed.

Velvet: "H-hey (Y/n), how do I l-look?"

(Y/n): "You look beautiful my love."

Velvet: "T-thank you."

(Y/n): "I've brought you flowers as well Velvet."

She's still cute when she blushes.

Velvet: "Red? Like my dress?"

(Y/n): "It seems to fit the theme."

Velvet: "It's perfect."

She placed the flowers in the vase before locking arms with me.

(Y/n): "Shall we go?"

The entrance to the dance was greeted with Jazz and Quickshot. Human sized but robotic features and custom-made suit for the theme.

Jazz: "What do we have here? Boss man is here and looking good."

Quickshot: "Great outfit sir."

(Y/n): "Thank you Jazz and Quickshot."

Jazz: "And you look beautiful miss Scarlatina."

Velvet: "T-thank you."

(Y/n): "Shall we go?"

(3rd pov)

The people were enjoying the dance. Drinks, snacks and dancing. Team RWBY enter the ballroom after (Y/n). Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang wore in red, white, black and yellow with their respective colours. Blake locked arms with Sun as they walked through. Both Ruby and Yang entered with some hesitation but soon relaxed as Jazz lets them through.

Ruby: "Amazing..."

Ruby struggles to keep herself on balance with heels. Yang helped Ruby as much before enjoying herself. Weiss tried to find someone to dance with. She was a bit upset since she couldn't dance with Prime. She couldn't do it. Not yet.

Weiss: "Next time..."

Team JNPR entered the ballroom with Ren and Nora locked arms together. What surprised most people are that Jaune and Pyrrha are together. An opportunity like this is against the odds.

Jaune: "Shall we dance Pyrrha?"

Pyrrha: "Of course Jaune."

The dance continued as Ruby watched from the sidelines. Ozpin stands beside her.

Ozpin: "Not enjoying yourself?"

Ruby: "No... Everything's fine. I'm just not much of a dancey girl."

Ozpin: "Well, you can't spend your entire life on the battlefield. Even if you may want to."

Ruby: "Yeah, but what about (Y/n)?"

Ozpin: "He's... a special case, that I should not talk about it. Now if you think about it, fighting and dancing aren't so different. Two partners interlocked. Heh, although, one wrong move on the ballroom merely leads to a swollen foot."

Ruby: "Or a twisted ankle."

Ozpin: "It's not everyday that friends are able to come together like this. Time has a way of testing our bonds. But it's nights like these can help keep them stronger than ever. Nights like these are ones we'll never forget."

Ruby: "I wish..."

The door opens with Emerald and Mercury entering the ballroom.

Jazz: "Just in time for the party my friends."

Mercury: "Wouldn't miss it for the world."

Jazz signalled  Ozpin to get the main event started. Ozpin walked towards the stage ready to get everyone's attention.

Ozpin: "Attention everyone. I would like to make an announcement. As you know, we had a legendary warrior who can defeat armies of grimm. A strong-will fighter ready to defend and a good partner to someone. I would like to present Prime up to the stage."

Multiple claps were heard as Prime walked up. Most women blushed as his face was shown. (S/f/c) hair illuminates from the lights, (f/c) eye's shines as it had a meaning. Any huntresses would describe him as handsome. Scars on his face still amazed many people.

(Y/n): "I would like to thank all of you for letting me do this speech. Now in these dark times, dangers will come. But as long as each and every one of you stay strong, we will live to fight another day. You all have courage, strength and skilled. Each and every one of you, had heard legends of Prime fighting for the people. You are seeing the legend. Now, because you are here with me tonight and having the dance with your partner, I would like to perform the music for all of you. I've picked these songs that suits best for tonight. Enjoy this moment because it will be the final performance I will ever do. Velvet Scarlatina, please join with me. Soundwave, operation: entertainment."

Soundwave came from behind the stage in human sized with a second microphone. He handed over to Velvet once she's on stage.

Soundwave: "Operation: entertainment."

He transformed into a boombox and started playing the music. (Y/n) and Velvet followed the beat and prepared to start singing.

(Y/n): "Velvet, are you prepared for this?"

Velvet: "I am."

The people cheered once the music finished. Most enjoyed the beat and some trying to understand the music as if it had any meaning. Ruby and Yang had little understanding form the music, Jaune and Pyrrha can relate from their progression towards the end.

(Y/n): "This final song is for my dearest partner, Velvet Scarlatina. Soundwave, please play the soundtrack 1106. Velvet, join with me for this final song."

The crowed are filled with excitement. Once in a lifetime they'll ever hear it again.

Ozpin: "Thank you very much for joining with us Prime. I do hope you stay for more music. Everyone, please enjoy for the night."

Team JNPR danced in sync with perfect moves in the middle of the ballroom. Jaune was still wearing his suit. He had nothing to be embarrassed. The happiness continues as Velvet decided to kiss (Y/n) on the lips.

Velvet: "Thank you for the wonderful night (Y/n)."

(Y/n): "My pleasure Velvet."

Velvet: "Though, I'm a bit upset that my team weren't there for tonight."

(Y/n): "Don't worry Velvet, I had Quickshot recorded the performance. It's HD. Cherish it dear."

Velvet: "Thank you."

Weiss' ambition grew as she wants to be with him but couldn't do anything about it. Emerald and Mercury are on the second floor spectating the crowd. Mercury watching the recording from (Y/n)'s performance without Emerald noticing.

Emerald: "It appears all the dancers have partners."

Cinder was on call prepared to make a move.

Cinder: "How long do I have?"

Mercury looking back at the crowd before casually replying and watching the video.

Mercury: "We should probably be home by midnight, to be safe."

Cinder: "I'll keep my eye on the clock."

Cinder ended the call and started moving towards the Beacon communications tower. Emerald noticed Mercury watching a video.

Emerald: "Did you seriously recorded that?"

Mercury: "He did say it's once in a lifetime so why not take it?"

Ruby was outside of the ballroom watching people leave. She soon noticed a black figure on top of the roof, running towards the tower. She was choosing whether to notify his brother or go follow the person.

Ruby: "I don't want to upset him after what had happen..."

She followed the person without anyone noticing. Meanwhile Jaune was dancing with Pyrrha after the event. He noticed Pyrrha blushed more than before.

Jaune: "Something wrong?"

Pyrrha: "No no, it's just that I have no idea you can dance so well with me."

Jaune: "Well, these things tend to happen when you grow up with seven sisters."

Pyrrha smiled as she continues to dance with him. Feeling that she wanted to kiss him, she decided to go with it.

Pyrrha: "Jaune."

Jaune: "Yes?"

Without hesitation, she gave him a quick kiss on the lips. The crowd hadn't noticed it but Jaune was shocked.

Jaune: "Well, it looks like I owe you a lot Prime. Shall we continue?"

Pyrrha: "Of course Jaune."

Timeline/period: V2, ep 7, night time

Ruby's pov

I followed the unknown figure towards the communications tower. I saw the guards unconscious. With my weapon on me, I proceeded to walk towards the elevator with caution. I hope I made the right decision.

Ruby: "Hello?"

Out of nowhere, I saw the figure coming out all dressed in black.

Ruby: "Excuse me. You know, it's not a masquerade party, so why don't take off that-"

I've noticed the person summon several crystals and flew towards me. I blocked all of them with my Crescent Rose before shooting back. All four shots were easily blocked by her then brought out her swords. I dashed towards her hoping to get the strike. She evaded with ease and shot multiple arrows at me. I stumbled after dodging the attacks. I recovered my balance and ready to strike before hearing the door open. I turned to see Ironwood standing looking concerned. Hoping he could help, I looked back to see that she disappeared. So close.

Ironwood: "What happened here?"
