Poppy skimmed through her scrapbook with a distressed look on her face, it had been a rough day for her as she couldn't get something out of her mind.

Branch: Knock knock!

Poppy looked up from her scrapbook and saw Branch outside her pod, he sat down next to her and gave her a light kiss on her forehead.

Poppy: Hey, Branch...

Branch: Got something for you.

He placed a pink heart shaped locket around her neck, it had a gold chain on it. He opened up the locket and showed her a photo that was inside.

Branch: Remember when we took that picture?

Poppy: Yeah...yeah, I remember. Thanks, Branch, it's really pretty.

Poppy kissed Branch on the nose and rested her head on his chest, she held her hand in his and squeezed it as if it were a stuffed animal.

Branch: Poppy? What's wrong?

Poppy: What do you mean?

Branch: You're not very chipper, you're squeezing my hand, and you're barely saying anything. Something's bugging you.

Poppy couldn't lie to Branch, he was right, something was bothering her.

Branch: It's okay, tell me what's going on.

Poppy: Um...Branch...it's today.

Branch: What is?

Poppy: Y'know...

Branch thought about what Poppy just said, then he realized what was troubling her.

Branch: Oh...that?

Poppy: Yeah...I don't like to think about it.

Branch wrapped his arms around Poppy and kissed her head trying to bring her some comfort. See, what was troubling Poppy was that today was an anniversary. No, not a birthday or a wedding anniversary...or a half birthday or a celebration, not those kinds of anniversaries. It was the anniversary of the day that Creek betrayed the Trolls. Poppy didn't like to think back to that day, Creek had done a terrible thing and she was completely blinded by her affections.

Poppy: I can't believe I was so blind...

Branch: Hey, hey, don't talk like that.

Poppy: But Branch, it's true! I was so infatuated by him! He was so easy to fall for! I mean, how many other Trolls did the boop?! The boop, Branch!!!! THE BOOP!!!!! HE DID THE FREAKING BOOP!!!!!!

Branch crossed his arms, his expression turning bleak.

Poppy: I'm sorry...it's just...I didn't think he would be the one to turn away from us. I really thought I lost him when the Bergens took him and my friends.

Branch: No kidding, didn't see you try to help everyone else, other than him.

Poppy: ...Thanks for making me feel better.

Branch: That aside, Poppy, he did do something pretty unforgivable.

Poppy: Exactly! He literally gave away the location of our village, he gave into Chef's obsession! He even said that all the other Trolls could be eaten other than him! ALL HE CARED ABOUT WHAT HIS SURVIVAL!!!!! I TRUSTED HIM, I ADMIRED HIM, I EVEN WANTED TO ASK HIM OUT BEFORE EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE HIS TRUE COLORS WERE SO BLEAK AND TASTELESS!!!!! IT'S BEEN A WHOLE YEAR SINCE HE DID THAT DESPICABLE ACT TO BE SPARED AND I CAN'T THINK ABOUT IT WITHOUT LOSING MY SANITY!!!!!

Branch backed up when Poppy's emotions started getting high, she let out an aggravated yell and kicked her coffee table so hard that it hit the wall. Branch didn't like how intense she was getting.

Poppy: HE BROKE MY HEART LIKE A MIRROR!!!!! I CAN NEVER FORGIVE HIM!!!!! NEVER!!!! NEVER NEVER NEVER!!!!!!

Branch ducked when Poppy picked up a photo of her and Creek and tossed it on the ground stepping on it. She then broke down into tears and fell on her knees, her emotions pouring out like a massive cascading waterfall. Branch didn't like this side of her, he knew she got upset whenever Creek came to mind, but this was the most intense he had ever seen her. He scooched over to her and hugged her with all his might, trying his best to soothe her wild emotions.

Poppy: I hate him...I hate him...I hate him...

She kept repeating those three words like a mantra, her tears still pouring from her eyes like rain from a cloud. Branch started rubbing her back trying to get through to her.

Poppy: I hate him...I hate him...I hate him...I hate him...I hate him...

Branch: Shhhhhhhh settle down...he's not worth your tears. He did something no Troll should have done, don't cry over him.

Poppy hugged Branch burying her face in his chest, as much as she hated Creek, her outburst was definitely uncalled for.

Poppy: I'm sorry I got so mad...

Branch: You have a right to be, Poppy, I'm angry too. He never should've done that, we were all put at risk because of him. But...well, if you think about it, something good came out of it.

Poppy: W-What do you mean?

Branch: Look at us.

Poppy: O-Oh...right.

Branch helped Poppy up and wiped away her tears with a tissue, her eyes were red and a little puffy from all the crying.

Branch: If I'm being honest, Poppy, I was...actually kind of jealous of Creek.

Poppy: J-Jealous...?

Branch: Yeah...

Poppy: Of what?

Branch: Well...he definitely got a lot of attention from you while I had the most feelings for you. I doubt that it was love though, Poppy.

Poppy: What do you mean?

Branch: I think you just really liked him because he acted so charming, and like you said earlier, that blinded you from the truth.

Blind? Well, Poppy knew that Branch was right, and even she admitted it herself, she was too blind to realize the truth, she let her feelings for Creek cloud her judgement when the cat was out of the bag.

Poppy: I guess...I still carry that shame.

Branch: Hey...none of us could've predicted it, we all realized too late, no one's to blame other than him for turning his back on us.

He was right, he did a despicable act and she could never forgive him for that, no matter how many times he would've begged.

Branch: Feel better?

Poppy sniffed and wiped her eyes.

Poppy: Uh huh...

Branch: Good, he's not worth your tears, it's best if you let him go.

Poppy: You're right...I'm sorry I lost it.

Branch: Don't worry about it...you needed to get that out of your chest. At least you knew that he was never the right Troll for you.

Poppy: Uh huh...the right Troll for me was under my nose this whole time.

The pop queen kissed Branch on the cheek and gave him a huge hug, her head resting on his shoulder.

Poppy: Thank you, Branch...I don't know what I'd do without you.

Branch: You never have to find out, Poppy, I'm right here if you ever need someone to talk to, okay?

Poppy: Okay...thank you.

Now that she got it off her chest, Poppy felt so much better thanks to Branch. She didn't know where she would be without him, and she was grateful that he helped her realize how wrong Creek was. Hopefully, in the future, she wouldn't be caught in blind rages about him again after this conversation. She needed to let him go and realize that he would no longer be welcome in the village after the act he committed. All she needed was Branch who never once hurt her or broke her heart, he was indeed the right Troll for her.

Surprise! Another one shot for you all today! Hope you liked it!
