"Princess, I must go see Midna." Y/N fidgeted with the end of her sleeve as she stood before the princess.

"Midna?!"

"Yes," Y/N repeated, beginning to think this was a bad idea. Zelda narrowed her eyes "You mean you want to see the weird witch who claims to be an imp from an imaginary world?" Y/N cringed as she said "Yes." again. Zelda's hair bounced as she tilted her head "But, why?"

"She knows of the unknown, Princess. Midna may be famed for her... errr... fantasies- but she knows more of Hyrule than anyone in the whole kingdom!" Y/N clasped her hands "And I think she might know of this uh, situation."

Zelda's eyes were slits "You want to see a weird Lady who lives in the middle of the lost woods with some dog-?" "Wolf." Y/N corrects. Zelda shakes her head and sighs "Y/N, we need to figure this out. I can't have you being so distracted." Zelda's eyes cloud over.

"That's what my father told me about ancient relics..."

"Are you okay, Princess?"

"Go, Y/N. If you think it's the only way."

Y/N smiled widely "Thank you so much! I hope to find a solution to this, Princess!" Zelda's expression grew serious "I'll send Link to go with you-" "Link?!" Y/N's jaw dropped. Zelda continues "I can't spare many guards, Link is as good as 5 knights. There won't be much loss..."

Y/N shook her head "It's Link's job to protect YOU, princess, not me. I will ask the Champions  if they can spare a moment. I have to fix this. For your sake and for Link's."

Before Zelda can answer, Y/N bows and runs to the door to go to the veranda, where the champions usually trained.

"For my sake?" Zelda said to herself "What is Y/N up to?"

Y/N hums to herself as she walks up to the veranda, the sun casting a glare in her eyes. Revali and Link are engaged in a battle while Urbosa, Mipha and Daruk sit down on the form practicing battle plans. Y/N feels out of place amongst these prestigious fighters. She clears her throat quietly to grab their attention.

All eyes turn to her and Y/N feels her cheeks turn red in embarrassment. "Uh, I'm really sorry to bother you all." she says, bowing her head a little. Link sheathes his sword and Revali tosses his head "I was just about to win...!" Urbosa shoots him a glare before turning to Y/N "It's no trouble, Y/N. What is it that you need?" her tone is warm.

"I'm terribly sorry to ask you for this... but I need two of you to come with me to see Midna."

"Midna?!" Revali snaps "Why would you want to see an asinine old lady living in her own fantasies?!" Mipha stands up "I would love to help. And I am sure that Revali would too." she says looking at the bird imploringly.

Link steps forward, looking at Y/N with clear eyes. Y/N shakes her head "No, Link. You must protect Zelda." Link nods and steps back, not knowing why he feels slightly hurt.

"I need to go. I'm close to a breakthrough on these blood moons- I'm sure of it! I know that Midna has the final piece. I need to go talk to her." Revali rolls his eyes "Fine..." he put the arrow he was holding on the bag on his back. "We'll leave tomorrow." Y/N adds, Revali's eyes widen "Tomorrow?!" he exclaims "Tomorrow." Y/N says firmly.

Y/N gives Link a look and then excuses herself. Link bows his head apologetically at the other champions and jogs after her. Daruk laughs "She's a stubborn one, that Y/N!" Urbosa nods "I'm sure she knows a lot more than she's letting on- Link too."

With Y/N:

I stop by the castle wall, hoping Link took the hint and followed me. I have a theory, I'm not quite sure if it's right. That's why I need to see Midna. That's also part of why I need to talk to Link, it helps lighten the load if you share it with someone else.

And he's just the right person, he's quiet enough to keep a secret and he's a good listener. Almost as if each person is a puzzle he's trying to solve. Speaking of puzzles, the only thing that doesn't add up is Link's place in all of this.

First he was missing for two or three days, and then he shows up under a blood moon practically dead... wait- he showed up practically dead and covered in wounds and not a few minutes ago did I see him fighting Revali. What happened to his wounds?! There is something much more sinister going on here...

A hand touches my shoulder and I recoil back, turning around. My defensive posture relaxes when I see that it is Link. I look at him closer, the cut on his cheek is gone. As if it dissolved into thin air, and he doesn't carry himself in a way a wounded soldier would.

"Link, could you lift your shirt up?" I ask, knowing full well how wrong it sounded. But, I need to see if that big gash on his side is still there. If it isn't, it means that we'll need Midna's help more than ever.

Link looks at me weirdly, a light pink dusting his cheeks. "Is your gash still there?" I elaborate, his eyes widen in realisation and he lifts his tunic up to survey his side. I scold myself for feeling flustered- it's for science! The gash isn't there, just as I had suspected.

Link drops his tunic and looks at me for an explanation, looking more than a little confused. "I think that the upcoming calamity has something to do with all of this." I tell him "It's somehow using the triforce to destroy you and the princes, therefore ensuring its success."

I begin to pace around "You show up one second looking dead-" Link's expression gives off a sarcastic 'thanks' "And the next it's all disappeared! Link, while I'm gone I need you to observe Zelda. After the last incident, you must expect anything. Can I trust you?"

Link nods, a ghost of a smile on his lips.
