Hi! The name's TJ/Taylor/Jamie/Taylor Jamie! (They/them)

I'm not exactly the best writer so this won't be as good as some other stories.

Just a warning in advance:
This story will contain some dark themes (is that how it's phrased?) including self harm, so yeah. I'll still give a possible trigger Warning at each chapter in case this kind of stuff bothers whoever is reading.

And on with the prologue!
————

John Laurens was your typical happy go lucky high schooler. Always being nice and smiling at everyone and helping them out.

Oh yeah, and he always carried around a ukulele.

This was a usual occurrence. Ever since the seventh grade when he learned it he started taking it with him to school.

The teachers didn't mind John doing this. He was a nice enough kid so they've let him. Most of the facility didn't even care about the students, anyways. So why should they care about one student carrying around a ukulele?

Anyways, on some days he'd help others by helping them pick up their books. Maybe holding a door or two for them.

Other days, he'd strum a few stings on his ukulele to someone having a bad day to try to get them to cheer up. Sometimes even in front of almost half of the school.

John had a big heart, that's for sure. There wasn't anyone who would resist his kindness.

Enter: Alexander Hamilton.

Alexander was the newest kid at their school. Barley speaking at all. Well, that wasn't true. The loudest and most talkative he ever was was in history. Quite odd, to say the least.

John's noticed before that he'd always be sulking or at least looking sad. Always.

People assumed he was depressed or just really quiet. Some rumors even said he was mute. (That rumor quickly faded, as he once tried to argue a teacher about the economy. Can't do that without a voice.)

John was determined to cheer this boy up. Or even make his day a little better. No matter what.
