John's Perspective

I arrived into Kingston Highschool (very creative I know-), practically beaming. Like usual, the first sounds I heard were the sounds of people in their little groups, chatting away.

I made my way to my locker, waving to people in the hall. Like usual, only a few people actually waved back at me. Oh well. Better than everyone ignoring me and pretending I don't exist.

That's not the point, but still. Doesn't everyone need at least a little cheering up in the morning? Especially on a school morning?

Anyways, I arrived at my locker, and I see one of my closest friends, Peggy, waiting by it.

Margarita, also known as Peggy, Schuyler is one of my closest friends my age, well, close to my age. Peggy is actually supposed to be in her sophomore year, but she skipped a grade back when we were younger so she's a junior like me.

She's apart of a bit of a more....wealthy family. Although she's one of the nicer sisters out of her two, Angelica and Eliza, the "Schuyler Sisters," as people call them. Although she could be sassy or show some though love when needed.

"Hey John!" Peggy greeted, as I opened my locker door, nodding in response to her. "Did you hear what the new kid did in his History class yesterday?"

Oh yeah! There was this new kid who came here about.....two weeks ago. Although I'm not exactly sure why we still call him "The New Kid." We all just do. I've seen him in some classes before.

"No. Why? Did he talk back to a teacher? Did he punch a kid in the face? Did he throw a printer? Did he-"

"No, not any of that. Or what you were about to say." Peggy interrupted. "Well, the talking part was kind of close. Apparently he ranted about how a musical wasn't that historically accurate yesterday."

"In history class?" I questioned, starting to make my way with Peggy down the hall in the direction of first period.

"Yeah. Pretty odd, actually. From what I've heard, they weren't even speaking about it!" She exclaimed, before her eyes widened.

"Pegs? You okay?" I asked, a bit concerned.

"I.....I gotta go!" She said, before quickly sprinting away down the hall. Huh. That was odd. She's usually never like this. Oh well. She's Peggy. She'll be fine.....

Right?

Oh well. I'll just ask her later. Guess I should start playing for the day.

I quickly grabbed my ukulele and started strumming lightly. I close my eyes, strumming more while walking around some.

The teachers don't mind when I do this. Nobody does. They're all just used to it. Some people even clap after I finish playing. Which, is a nice thing to do, but I honestly don't understand why they do that.

I continued strumming for a bit and twirling around, until I felt myself bump into someone, my eyes quickly opening and soon widening.
