The Union Grand Prix (ユニオングランプリ, Yunion Guran Puri), also known by its shortened name UGP, is an organization created to battle the Jyamato and the Union Academy. They host a series of games of the same name in which the competitors fight as Kamen Riders.

Overview

The Union Grand Prix was created for the purpose of combating the Union Academy, who the organization see as a cancer to the Multiverse due to the growing amount of individuals with special powers who abuse their gifts, the villains, and the Jyamato, monsters from different dimension who are invading different realities.

The Union Grand Prix was financially backed by shadowy cabals of major Japanese and international corporations, with representatives (such as Nobuhiko Nabeshima) acting on their behalf. Through this, they are able to recruit many staff members. They mainly work in the manufacturing of Desire Drivers, Rider ID Cores, and other equipment the Riders will utilize, along with erasing the memories of the disqualified Riders and Union members.

Due to the unspecified interdimensional technology responsible for operating the game, some of the spectators and sponsors of the DGP are implied to be from different dimension.

Some of the Riders who are past players that have been disqualified can join the UGP as the staff members.

Recruitment

The recruitment of the Riders are decided by the Game Master, who perfroms a strict and throughout evaluation of all potential players before allowing their participation. How the evaluation screening works is unknown.

Once they have been selected, a game navigator will approach the potential participant and invite them by presenting them a Desire Driver and a Rider ID Core, with a small booklet of rules that each player is expected to follow. Touching a ID Core is one of the methods of agreement, to which doing so restores the player's memories if they had lost in or bore witness to a previous game. If they agree to play, they cannot void it until the game's conclusion. Once they wear their Desire Driver and equip their Rider ID Core, they are instantly transported to the UGP Temple, which exists in a location inaccessible by Earth's satellites.

Additionally, players can still join even after the orientation period has ended, as demonstrated by Kamen Rider Shirowe who join mid-game. Like all players, this requires approval from the Game Master. Game Master can let a civilian to participate in mid-game under the agreement of a player giving up his entry rights.

After the selection is completed, each player is given a default uniform to wear in game, which consists of a t-shirt or a tank top with the color of their choosing, a pair of pants, a jacket, a vest holster, a pair of combat boots and knee pads for each player to store their Desire Driver and other Raise Buckles they (will) have collected. They are expected to wear the uniform (minus the jacket) for the entire duration of the game.

Gameplay

At the start of each game, a transparent and impenetrable glass barrier is erected within a certain radius around the selected area, which becomes an area known as the Jyamar Area. Communication with outside areas except the UGP Temple will be cut off. The participating players are then safely teleported into its radius where the first round begins. Although not required, players can activate Raise Buckles on their Desire Drivers, which allow them to equip weapons and high-level armor onto themselves, as well as freely enter and exit Rider form.

If no players survive at the end of a round, the area is essentially "deleted" from reality and all civilian deaths in the area are permanent.

Should unexpected developments occur within a game, the Game Master themselves are allowed to directly intervene in a matter impartial to all players, such as providing everyone with new Raise Buckles as well as fighting the Jyamato using the Game Master's own Rider gear that is far more advanced in technology in comparison to the Desire Driver, allowing the Game Master to exercise their duties whenever needed. Game Masters, however, cannot perform actions that directly influence the results of the game, such as abusing their authority and intentionally targeting a player for elimination.

Elimination

Players can be retired from the game with the following methods:

- Failing the mission objective.

- If the player is physically unable to continue the game due to injuries or health issues.

- Disqualification through rule violations.

- Voluntary giving up the entry rights to another.

- Refusing to comply with mandatory rules.

- Destruction of ID Core.

Once a player has been eliminated, a large red "LOSE" notice will appear over their name on the ranking board, and their bodies will be enveloped in a blue-white static and simply disappear along with their ID Core, leaving only the blank Desire Driver and/or any Raise Buckles that had been equipped onto the driver. The retired players will then return to their normal lives without any memories of the game.

While formerly retired players are indefinitely barred from playing again regardless if they have their memories or not, though this can be overturned with the Game Master's approval.

Player Death

Once a player is fatally injured, the player's bodies will enveloped in red-black static and disintegrate into nothingness, permanently erasing their presence on Earth, and leaving only the Raise Buckle equipped behind.

Safe Area

In-between rounds, players can chat with other players, rest, check their current rankings, survey the current game map, and even trade/gift Raise Buckles if they wish. Players also have access to the concierge area supervised by Girori in the Desire Temple, where they can also enjoy complimentary refreshments and shop the Desire Store. Violence against other players and acts of sabotage remain prohibited. Continued violation of these rules will lead to point deduction, and even instant disqualification from the game.

Victory

When the player wins the final round, the players' greatest wishes will be granted.

After the game is over, the game will reset the world, where all destructions of the city in the game are rebuilt, with most of the civilians being able to revived after the world resets. The victorious players will retain the memories of the game, and are even allowed to transform as a Rider. However, disclosing the information regarding the game is forbidden.

Desire Driver

The Desire Driver is a belt that is used as a primary transformation device to all participating UGP Riders in the Union Grand Prix.

To transform, the user must insert their ID Core into the the Desire Driver to transform into their Entry Raise Form. The player automatically assumes Entry Raise Form at the start of each round if they do not possess any Raise Buckles.

When a Raise Buckle is inserted, a mechanical apparatus appears behind a user, with an arm and hand containing the armor based on the Raise Buckle manifesting to the side. Once activated, the arm pulls the armor to the top/bottom half, and completes the transformation. The upper and lower halves of the riders' forms can be reversed with "Revolve On" by rotating the Desire Driver 180 degrees in either direction. Revolve On causes the body to partially detach from the user while it rotates, with the user re-merging with the armor once it's oriented. The Rider ID Core and the accessories of certain Riders are automatically reoriented to their correct positions

ID Cores

The Rider ID Cores are personal identification code terminals used by participants of the Union Grand Prix.

Rider ID Cores are placed into the center of the Desire Driver, allowing a player to register in the Union Grand Prix as a Kamen Rider. The player can assumes Entry Raise Form in the game when the ID Core is solely inserted in the Desire Driver. Every ID Core is linked to one individual, and cannot be shared by anyone else, unless the Game Master changes it. How exactly does the Game Master can change the Entry rights is unknown, but it is presumed that it is used through the Vision Driver.

When a player equips a driver with the ID Core inserted, they can access the UGP Temple with the authorization of the management. So the UGP management also has the right to ban the entry towards the Temple of any player if they want. However the player can overcome this priority if they owns a Vision Driver due to its higher authority.

ID Core additionally function as storage devices and retain information such as the behavior and scores of players. Touching one will allow a civilian to restore their memories regarding the Union Grand Prix, regardless of whether they played or witnessed a game. When a player loses in a game, the ID Core will vanish, where it is kept in the Game Master's possession, and can be given to a returning player if they are selected to rejoin the games. The Sponsors and Supporters can obtain some of IDs through their authority.

Upon a player being fatally injured during a game, the ID Core will crack and the player dies, vanishing them from the battlefield. Although cracked ID Cores normally cannot allow a player to transform, the player can brute-force the transformation, though doing so will cause severe pain and combat ability to be significantly hampered by the paralyzing electric shocks. The resulting Entry Raise Form suit generated by the transformation will also have a partially damaged appearance. However, cracked ID Core are able to be restored to their original appearance, though the method of restoration, however, is unknown.

ID Cores are also able to be destroyed by brute force without needing to fatally wound a player. Doing so will result in the corresponding player being retired, with them unable to transform into a Kamen Rider ever again.

Raise Buckles

The Raise Buckles are belt buckle-like devices used by the Riders in the game. There are at least two types of Raise Buckles, with every single one of them having their own unique activation method in the Desire Driver.

Form Buckles

Form Raise Buckles, also known as Personal Raise Buckles, are types of buckles used by Riders to access their main forms. There are only one of each in every round of the Union Grand Prix, but they are able to be used by Riders for their forms once found. The Form Buckles have their own affinities that matches their ID Core, and thus giving them more power and advantage during battle. Riders can even trade Buckles and use them for their own power too. They can be used in either side of the Desire Driver. There are only one of each in every round of the Union Grand Prix. At the beginning of the game, the Raise Buckles can be found in Mission Boxes as loot for them to be used further on. When the Form Buckle is used by a mismatched Rider for an extended period, it will automatically eject itself and will be sent to its matching Rider.

However, the Boost Raise Buckle is the only exception due to being a "special" item, as immediately after activating and performing a finisher, it automatically ejects itself from the Desire Driver and flies away, and will not appear again until the next round. If the user does not use the attack, it will still be able to be used again.

So far, Form Buckles include:

Boost - Greatly enhances the Rider's speed, along with the Raise Buckle and their respective weapons, and summons the Boostriker.

Magnum - Equipped with Magnum Shooter 40X and enhances the Rider's accuracy while also granting the ability to manipulate the trajectory of the fired bullets.

Zombie - Equipped with Zombie Breaker and gives poisonous claws. While transforming, the Zombie Buckle produces poisonous liquid capable of dissolving the user's enemies into nothingness.

Beat - Equipped with Beat Axe that grants sound manipulation, as well as grant the additional use of cryo/electro/pyrokinesis.

Monster - Equipped with Monster Glove which grants enhanced punching power.

Powered Builder - Equipped with Gigant Weapons.

Armed Buckles

A smaller Raise Buckles used by Riders to access their Armed Forms. They equip any Rider with Raise Weapons and simpler straps of armor. There exists multiple copies of one small Raise Buckle.

Unlike the Form Buckles, the Armed Buckles are taken away from the riders once the round ends, repeating the cycle once the next round begins.

So far, Armed Buckles include:

Arrow

Water

Hammer

Shield

Chain Array

Claw

Drill

Propeller

Super Buckles

Super Buckles are Raise Buckle types that are enhanced versions of Form and Armed Buckles. These buckles are used for power-up items that greatly boosts the powers of the Rider or grant them additional abilities.

The Super Buckles are able to be used by multiple Riders at the same time due to existing as many copies. So far the super buckles include:

Feverslot Buckle

Accesses the form associated with a random Raise Buckle. The Slot can land on any of the Larger Raise Buckles or "???," which mimics a random Armed Raise Buckle. When this random form matches a second Raise Buckle used alongside the Feverslot Buckle, it results in a stronger Fever form. Due to its design, it is normally used in the right-hand slot of the Desire Driver. Seven copies of this Raise Buckle were distributed at once by the Game Master. While this buckle is quite powerful, its ability to access all of the Raise Buckle powers doubles as a weakness. Since the form is chosen at random, a player may end up with a Raise Weapon or a form they are unfamiliar with, causing a handicap. This shortcoming can be worked around by pulling the Golden Lever a second time, although there is still no guarantee of a desirable outcome.

Command Twin Buckle

A rare buckle that is a set of Two Raise Buckles, the orange Command Jet Buckle and the blue Command Cannon Buckle. It is able to access the Raising Sword. The Command Cannon Buckle must be charged by using the Raising Sword in order to be removed. Both Raise Buckles can then be used together in the Desire Driver to access Command Form. When the Command Cannon Buckle is on the right-hand side of the Desire Driver, Command Form will be in Cannon Mode. When the Command Jet Buckle is on the right-hand side, it will be in Jet Mode. Cancelling the transformation will cause the Command Cannon Buckle to disappear again, so the user must start in Raising form and charge the Raising Sword each time they want the want to use Command Form.

Guard Riders

The Guard Riders are UGP's staff members and a group of mass-produced Kamen Riders working as the security guards for the UGP. Their main task is to track down any Union members who violate the game's rules.

To be assigned as a Guard Rider, they undergo physical trainings that will allow them to engage in combat. They will also learn about erasing memories of retired players, cleaning up evidences of the game from the area, and manufacturing of Desire Drivers, ID Cores, and Raise Buckles. Each of them wear black jackets, black pants, and black shirts and caps that has UGP symbol. They also wear masks that hides their face and voices.

The Guard Riders' Entry Raise suits are same as the Entry Forms for the rest of the players, with exception that their helmets are completely blank, and their ID Cores are black with no emblem or animal motif whatsoever, and has no announcement sound whenever they insert their ID Cores to transform. They also have a red sleeve accessory on their right arm that has Greek alphabets on them to symbolize their ranks.

Through Game Master as Kamen Rider Glare, the Guard Riders that are employed by the Game Master can be controlled through becoming GM Rider, with his Hypnoray latched onto their heads. This is only for Guard Riders who breaks the rules and have brainwashed in forms of punishment. This also apply to Union members, where they will forcibly become a GM Rider against their will.

There is a chance a disqualified UGP player can join the security team. Although they will lose their original Rider forms and their ID Core, replaced with black one used by the standard Guard Riders. However, the Guard Riders are able to use Raise Buckles as well, but only limited to Armed Buckles only.

Personality

Each Guard Riders' personalities vary. However, they are all loyal to the UGP and will follow the orders and protocols the Game Master or a high ranking UGP staff will give them.

The Guard Riders also announce, "Execute/Shikkō" (執行) instead of "Transform/Henshin".

As for GM Rider, they become silent, unresponsive, and highly obedient toward the Game Master due to the Hypnoray attached to them.
