About a month into school, Sam was called in to a parent-teacher conference about my 'behavior'

He convinced me to attend with him, although I had to miss a long awaited flying lesson with Cas. "Come on Sam, I wanted to learn how to use my wings" I complained for the fifth time that drive.

Sam's grip on the Impala's steering wheel tightened slightly. "Well maybe you shouldn't have slammed a kid's head into the wall" he shot me a look before returning his attention to the road.

"I warned him not to mess with me and that was the consequences of his actions" I crossed my arms, my wings splayed across the back of the leather bench seat.

"Still, you have powers, he's a human. He couldn't defend himself" Sam pointed out, turning off the low hum of music that'd been playing. "Plus you can't draw attention to yourself like this, heaven is still looking for you, and Lucifer's got demons scouring any angelic activity sights." He warned.

"I know Sam, but I can't live under a rock for the rest of my life in fear that someone's gonna find me" I shot back. "Is that why you guys won't let me hunt?"

Sam was silent, refusing to answer me. He pulled up to the school building, parking in a nearby vacant spot.

He didn't say anything as we walked into the school, not even until we reached my math teacher's room.

"You must be Mr. Winchester" Mrs. Roth asked with her usual disdain, eyeing the both of us up and down.

I adjusted my flannel and jacket, slightly uncomfortable with the attention. Sam nodded, an easy smile sliding into place. "Yes, and you are?"

"Mrs. Roth" she replied in her usual clipped tone. the woman lead us into her room, crossing her arms as Sam awkwardly maneuvered his long legs into a desk, I sat on top of the one next to him, not bothering to acknowledge the look that both Sam and my teacher shot me. "You're here right now because not only did your daughter harm another student, unprovoked might I add" I scoffed, but was ignored in favor of her rant. "I have reason to believe she cheats on all her class work and have recommended expulsion."

"What?!" I was taken aback at the accusation. "I've aced all your stupid tests!"

"Exactly" Mrs. Roth looked like that explained everything. "She rarely, if ever, pays attention in my class, then suddenly she makes perfect scores on my tests, a task that has never been done in all my years of teaching"

"Alright!" Sam called our attention "Mrs. Roth, In her defense, Andy was homeschooled most of her life, so her mom probably already taught her what you're teaching. Now I agree that she could be a little more respectful, but she already knows this kind of stuff"

I crossed my arms in triumph, smirking at the older teacher. "See, even Sa-Dad knows I wouldn't cheat"

"I think expulsion isn't necessary" Sam placated when he saw Mrs. Roth open her mouth, continuing like I hadn't said anything "now let's deal with the fight, I already know Andy's side of the story"

Mrs. Roth sighed, realizing she wasn't going to get anywhere expulsion wise. "Well, our quarterback, according to multiple witnesses, was walking down the hall when suddenly your daughter attacked him"

"What?!" I stood, throwing my hands in the air "the so called witnesses are all his friends, of coarse they're gonna make him seem like a saint"

Sam grabbed my shoulder, directing me to a chair, and I slumped down into the seat, crossing my arms at the unfairness.

"Justin, that's the quarterback, and his parents want to press charges" Mrs. Roth told "he sustained a broken nose from the altercation"

"Do you think I could speak to his parents? Maybe try to smooth things out?" Sam questioned calmly. I mentally pat myself on the back, if I'd chosen Dean as my guardian, he would've lost his cool by now.

"I'll speak with the principal to see if that can happen" Mrs. Roth glanced at me before turning her attention back to Sam. "It might do you well to teach your daughter some respect"

Sam nodded, standing up, although awkwardly, and held out his hand for my teacher to shake. "Thank you for letting me know."

The woman shook his hand almost disdainfully. "I expect a change in attitude in my classroom"

"I'll talk to her" Sam pulled away, tapping me lightly on the shoulder as a sign to stand up.

I followed the silent command, maneuvering my wings so his hand wouldn't pass through them.

When we reached the impala Sam had a contemplative look on his face. "What are you thinking about?" I asked as I got into the front seat.

"Your teacher, she was pretty nasty" he observed, turning the car on and starting on our way back home.

"Yeah, she's like that, at least according to the other kids" I shrugged, pulling my knees up to my chest and wrapping my arms around them. "You don't think she's a demon, do you?"

Sam's silence confirmed my suspicions. "Test her tomorrow, if she reacts you get out of there as fast as you can and call one of us, don't try to hunt her on your own"

"Okay, but I can handle her, I think you guys forget that I hunted for years before we met" I shot him a pointed look, resting my cheek on my knees.

"We're just trying to keep you safe" he justified.

"Yeah but you can't keep me in the bunker forever. I'm going to be an adult in a year" I remarked, although Sam gave me a smile.

"You really think becoming an adult means a thing to Cas?" He laughed "you're his kid and he missed most of your life, that's why he's so protective of you"

"Fair point" I relented, deciding to leave the hunting topic for another day, I opted for a different subject. "He's gone so much" I ook out the window instead of Sam.

"He's busy, he comes more for you than Dean or I, and he trusts us to keep you safe while he's gone"

"Still, it's hard to have a relationship when I rarely see him" I replied, hugging my knees a little tighter.

"Just be patient, Cas would much rather be down here with you than in heaven settling a civil war, he'll come when he can" Sam reassured.

I hope so.
