Well Fuck universe. Because it just so happens that the universe is not that kind to our boy Yibo.
Why else would the universe do everything in it's power to mess things up for him on a regular basis when it came to getting his Zhan ge?

Of course Yibo doesn't want Zhan ge..
Please give my boy some credit.. It's a hetrosexual want.

Let's fast forward a week.

*If anyone is interested in the happenings of that week, it's in P. S.at the end of the update... Why? Because it's a post script*

It's their first time........for the scrip reading obviously *i know what you guys though*

Yang Xia, who is one of the producers had asked the cast to meet up for dinner before the first time they had to read the script together.
But as luck would have it, Yibo had missed it, which in turn had led to a series of unfortunate events.

Yes it's my story so please be prepared for lots of unfortunate things. For example the unfortunate way I am writing this fic. You probably didn't sign up for this.. but well... Let's continue.

What had happened then:

Xiao Zhan being the punctual boy that he is, had arrived on time at Yang Xia's house.
In fact, he was the very first one there.
He had planned it that way.

When all the courtesy talks were over Xiao Zhan asked what he had really wanted to.

"Why did you select Wang Yibo to play Lan Zhan?" Zhan had asked trying to make it sound casual.

"The same reason we selected you. He was perfect. And more over MXTX was given the final say in the matter and she thought you would make a good pair. Why?" The producer lady had asked looking curiously at Xiao Zhan.

'Good pair!? With that noodle armed cold Child!' Zhan had thought feeling less than excited.

That was a lie, he was excited af. He just didn't want to admit it to himself.

"Oh nothing. I was just curious. I will work hard...Amm, Jiejie, can I use your restroom please?" Xiao Zhan had asked.

No, he had not wanted to use the restroom. He had just wanted to get away from The producer Jiejie who had been looking at him funny.
And why a restroom? Simple, because it's a perfectly good excuse to get away from an awkward situation.

Once Xiao Zhan had entered the restroom and closed the door he had stood in front of the mirror giving himself a pep talk.
'Zhan you are older, more mature and a cool dude. You are a professional. You must find it in yourself to forgive HIM and try to get along with HIM. He may not be the Lan Zhan you wanted, but he is the one you have been given. You need to think about this professionally!'

With that done, he had walked out.
Lucky for him a few more cast members had arrived by then.

The producer Jiejie had made introductions.

'Everyone seems to be sweet and humble. I am sure one rude person will not matter.' Xiao Zhan had thought while introducing himself.

When everyone had arrived, the producer Jiejie had spoken.

"Now that we have formally been introduced, there are a few things we have decided on which I need to share with you." The producer Jiejie had said authoritatively.

Everyone had turned to her and given her full attention... except one man.

Yes that man was none other than our boy Zhan who had spent the entire evening looking for one Person ... No
Don't get him wrong, he had been interested in meeting everyone, but he had wanted to meet HIM too... Afterall the 'Person' was His.. Lan Zhan.

When even after dinner, YiBo had still not arrived Zhan had gotten angry.
'Where is he? Why isn't he here yet?  Does he think this meeting is not important enough for him to attend!?'

"Xiao Zhan?... Zhan?" The producer Jiejie had spoken suddenly.

"Mn?" that had brought Zhan back to the discussion at hand.
"Did you hear what I just said?" she had asked.

"Ah yes. Sorry. I was distracted for a second. Could you please repeat that?" Zhan had said politely.
'What the hell is wrong with me!?'

"There are two things, first, for getting into character better, MXTX wants you all to address each other by your character names. Xiao Zhan for instance will need to address Xuan Lu as Shijie." Yang Xia had said looking at Xiao Zhan.

Everyone had understood.

Wang Zhuo Cheng who plays Jiang Cheng had asked, "So I have to call Zhan ge, Wei Wuxian even when we are off screen?"

"Yes." Yang Xia had nodded and continued, "Second, We will be having training session for about a month before we start shooting. During that time I want the cast to mingle with each other to understand each other better. We have decided to put the members who are sharing the most scenes in the same room. Obviously the girls will have their own rooms."

Everyone had immediately opened their scripts to look at who they had to share the most scenes with.

Xiao Zhan hadn't bothered. He had just muttered a low 'Fuck my life.' under his breath.

You see, our boy XZ had already known who he shares the most amount of screen time with. And now that the producer Jiejie had dropped two bombs on him at once, he had felt out of sorts.
'He will call me Wei Ying even when we are alone... Fuck. We will share a room... Double fuck! I will have to stay with 'Him' for an entire month. Why!???' Xiao Zhan had thought to himself before taking a seat next to 'Shijie' and smiling at her.

Xuan Lu being the adorable woman that she is, had immediately gotten into her character, "A Xi'an, what is the matter?  You are smiling but I can tell that something is worrying you. We will be working together, if there is anything you want to talk about, I am here."

"It's the nerves I guess. I have never worked with such a big team." Zhan had replied sweetly.

But just as she was about to reply A voice had floated over to them.
"A Jie, Xia Jiejie has asked us to come downstairs. We will be going to the conference hall now." 'Jiang Cheng' had said coming towards them.

Shijie had immediately gotten up to leave.
"A Xi'an, come on." She had said before walking towards the door.

"Mn." Zhan had nodded. But he had kept sitting on the couch lost in thought.

"Zhan,  thank God you are here." Xia Jiejie had said, dragging Zhan out of his thoughts.

"Jiejie, what is it?" Zhan had asked walking over to her.

"YiBo was not feeling well so he got delayed. He will be arriving here in a bit. Could you accompany him to the conference hall?" Jiejie had requested.

Despite not wanting to do that Zhan had agreed.

"A car will be waiting for you downstairs. Come over as soon as you can... And Zhan, whatever issues you have with Yibo, I am sure you guys will work it out." Jiejie had said before leaving Zhan alone in the empty house.

Was Zhan disappointed that he had not got to meet Lan Zhan?
Nope, he had not been disappointed. Why would he be? He had met everyone else. 'One Person' really doesn't matter.
So.... was Zhan happy now that he would get a chance to meet the man Child alone?
Nope..he was definitely not excited and nervous as hell.
At least that is what XZ had told himself.
But that was not exactly completely true.
You see, since he had read the novel and had come to know that he would be playing Wei Ying, he had really only wanted to meet one person 'His Person' and that Person had turned out to be a rude person... At least that is what XZ had thought. He had been totally unaware of the way 'His Person' had actually felt about him.
So it was but natural for XZ to be a little sad.
And now that they had to get into their characters immediately he had been scared if he would even like 'His Person'

His mind had once again drifted back to the novel. Once again he had had to remind himself that this was not a Thailand production. Once again he had felt relieved.

'I could never do 'those kinds of things' on screen with that boy!'
XZ had thought.

'I should really stop calling him a boy... I may have to call him 'Er gege' from now on.' Zhan had thought and his heart had started to beat a little faster.

'What the heck is wrong with me... It must be the novel... I am too involved... I must concentrate on the script... And the Brotherhood.' Zhan's brain had advices him.

He had felt hot all of a sudden.

'Maybe I am coming down with something.' Zhan had thought before going to the restroom.

As soon as he had closed the door another had opened.

Yibo had finally arrived.
He had looked around the house.
He had been nervous and excited to meet his Bias for the first time in more than a year.

"Zhan Laushi?" He had whispered a few times walking around the empty home.

'Maybe Zhan ge stepped out for a bit.' YiBo had thought before his eyes had fallen on an unattended pack of chips.

They were his favorite.
He had immediately picked them up and started munching on them.

It was then that he had heard a 'thud' from an inconspicuous room. A room he had missed... The restroom.

The here and now:

As soon as Yibo hears the thud his first thoughts are 'Oh Fuck!  Jiejie is being robbed!'

Dropping the pack of chips he immediately runs to the restroom and  flings the door open.

"Who the fu... " YiBo yells at the person inside before tripping on the place mat and spiralling forward directly onto the person in the restroom.

Xiao Zhan's eyes widened first in surprise and then in shock as he sees YiBo first enter and then trip on the place mat.

He immediately flings his arms out to stop Yibo from falling and hurting himself.

You see,  XZ right now is doing what any man would do. He is protecting his.... 'Interests'
It's afterall a show where he is the lead. If his Lan Zhan is injured, his team will suffer too right....It's definitely not because he wants to protect Yibo's hips.... it's a hetrosexual want.
Our boy XZ is definitely 100% not gay!

So What happens next you may ask , especially looking at this disastrous start...

Simple, more disastrous and hella awkward things happen....afterall, that is to be expected from a hella awkward writer like me.

P. S.  It was a Long week.

What the Bae... I mean 'Bias' had done:

After that God damn 'Call' XZ had tried hard to forgive and forget. He had tried to remember how the Child had acted so cute when they had Met during Day Day Up.
He had tried to convince himself that the Child had probably been nervous, just like him.
Then XZ had read the novel again and tried to visualize Yibo as Lan Zhan...

He may or may not have thought about this 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇 a LOT.

That had been a huge mistake...  Xiao Zhan had realized that a bit too late.

The only thing that had kept XZ's thoughts Straight... I mean professional, was his firm belief that Yibo was a skinny noodle armed Boy.

What the potential Boyfriend.....I mean 'Fanboy' had done:

After the God forsaken 'Call', first and foremost, Yibo had wanted to jump off the highest peak in Gusu... but since the sets had not been ready yet he had given up on that idea.
Then he had prepared an apology and practiced it in front of a mirror trying to look cool but mature... He had failed. He had kept getting distracted.

That is because his mind may or may not have supplied him with images like these 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇

*gulp*
He had given up on that too.
He had finally just concentrated on the scrip...he had read and reread the parts where he was supposed to catch Wei Ying in his arms.
That had distracted him from his regretful thoughts.
He had finally decided to apologize to Zhan ge, with a few words, like Lan Zhan would have.

He had felt good at the prospect of meeting his BAE.. Sorry Bias.
That was until the day of the meeting when he had woken up feeling cold and drenched in sweat.

'Fuck my life.' he had thought before calling Xia Jiejie and telling her that he might miss the dinner and the script reading.
Luckily for him though, he had started feeling better by late evening and had informed Jiejie about the change.

"Xiao Zhan will wait for you at my place. You guys can come to the conference hall together." Jiejie had said and the fanboy in YiBo had done a celebratory dance in his mind.

Little had he known at the time that he was going to fuck up all over again.
