Onto the story!

Third POV

Jay was still stunned by this. What were his parents doing out here so late? Especially during a thunderstorm. He fell into deep thought before being cut off by them.

"Um, excuse me..? We-we are sorry to-" Edna said, before she was interrupted.

"Please, come inside! You must be freezing out here!" He deepened his voice and led them inside. Boy, was he glad he was wearing his mask, because he couldn't bare to face them after running away. They'd be ashamed of him.

"It's really not a big deal, ya don't have to-" Ed said and slightly coughed.

"Nope. I-We are not letting you out there alone."

"You don't even know who we are!" Edna raised a brow. "How could you let strangers into yer house like that?"

Okay.. Now this got pretty awkward. He tried to stay silent -as he was not proud to say making a deeper voice hurts his throat a bit- and did not answer any other questions.

They eventually arrived inside. Once they got at their dining room where everyone sat, he started to feel cold sweat running down his face. Just before the couple entered Jay whispered to Lloyd to pull up his mask. Looking confused, he did. Everyone gave the three a weird look once they were in their sight, with Lloyd's face becoming paler and paler by the second.

The Blue Ninja signaled for Wu to speak to him in another room. He nodded, leaving with the brunet to speak.

"Jay, what is the meaning of all this?"

Jay took his mask off and finally broke. "I'm so sorry Sensei Wu! These are my parents and I found them outside freezing I don't know what they're here for, but we sort of ran away from home with Lloyd and they don't know this is me and-"

"JAY!" Wu hit him with his stick. "Calm down! We are not going to abandon them!"

"So you'll let them stay?" Jay sheepishly smiled.

Wu sighed. "Of course. Not for long, though, so be prepared. As for the identity misunderstanding, this is your problem. You and Lloyd will have to tell the truth." He said. "Now, go back to the rest."

"Thank you!" He sniffed and pulled him into a tight hug.

Nya eventually returned from the kitchen. "Okay! Dinner is read- Oh and I guess we're having guests!" Her voice trailed off as she awkwardly stood there, looking at the smiling couple.

"L.." She started to say, before Lloyd gave her a pleading look. "Link! Um, yeah! Could you help me serve dinner?" Lloyd let out a sigh of relief as he nodded and literally ran into the kitchen, with Nya awkwardly following. She shut the door behind them and began to speak.

"Who exactly are these people? And why did you bring them here?!" She slightly panicked.

"These are Jay's parents. They took care of me for a while before me and him ran away for this mission.." He sighed. "They can't know it's us! It's too dangerous!"

"You say that like I'm going to blow your cover anytime soon.." Nya mumbled.

"Uhm, what about the extra food?"

"I already have it covered. I just wanted to know what the heck was going on." She narrowed her eyes.

They eventually both got back to the dining area. Everyone was already there as the two served dinner.

"It's still so nice to see you again Cole! I am still surprised Lou agreed to this!" Edna exclaimed, giving a wide grin to the Master of Earth.

"Hey, you have got to keep fit even if dancing is your passion!" Cole lied. "Your body must be a temple, after all!"

"What is the reason of your arrival?" Zane blurted out.

"Oh, we're sorry! Ya see, our children have been missing for quite some time.. We haven't given up on them yet. I know they're strong, wherever they are!" Their faces slightly dropped, even though their voices stayed in their casual cheerful tone .

But they weren't the only ones feeling sad. Jay felt guilt -too much guilt-. He was ready to cry. Lloyd on the other hard, didn't know what to think. He was more than glad that they considered him their child, but he didn't like lying to them. It was not like him.

Edna tried to cheer everyone up a bit.
"This is amazing. Did you make it?" She glanced over at Nya, as she awkwardly nodded.

"Trust me, I'm not that good. It's just observing none the less." She blushed.

"This is great none the less. I could give you some recipes if you want!"

"That would be great." She smiled. "Zane over here is really interested in culinary as well." She placed an arm on her friend's shoulder.

"Perfect." Edna smiled back.

"We should probably show you your rooms." Wu stroked his beard.

"Rooms? Ya really don't have to! We don't live that far!"

"I think staying here is your best option for tonight. And the thunderstorm isn't the only reason.." He gave Lloyd and especially Jay the 'you have to tell them look', making them feel even more uncomfortable.

"Well, if we aren't bothering you.." Ed sighed.

"Not at all! Jonathan here will show you your room. Right, Jon?" Cole looked at his best friend. This was his only chance at revealing the truth to them. Though it was his choice whether he was going to blow it up or not.

"Of course.. come with me." He felt his face red after saying that. He was about to tell them and he couldn't be more nervous. The couple gave him an excited grin as he led them to their room. It wasn't much, just one of the many extra rooms the Monastery had. A plain double bed with a night side table next to it, along with a closet on the very end. Not surprising, really.

"This is your room.." Jay sighed.

"Thank ya dear! Everyone is so kind here.." Edna gave him a tight hug.

"But the question is, why are you and that green guy wearing your masks all the time?" Ed crossed his arms, raising a brow.

Jay felt his heart skip a beat. He didn't know what to do. His hands were slightly trembling, as he focused on his heavy breathing. 'Okay, Jay, it's now or never. Just.. tell them the truth. They'll understand.'

"O-oh, it's just that we have a cold.. We wouldn't want to get you sick." He decided to blow it. He heard a sigh coming from the other side of the door. He immediately knew what was going on.

"I-I have to go now." He bit his lip, heading towards the door.

"Right.. goodnight." Ed said as he gave him a small wave. It's not like the two didn't know what was going on. But he had to be the one to come out to them, not the other way.

He got outside and closed the door behind him, only to be greeted by three familiar faces; Cole, Nya and Lloyd. They stood there, giving him a disappointed look.

"Where are the rest? Aren't you going to call me stupid together..? As a team?" He felt his eyes get puffy.

"Kai is teaching Zane how to play video games, they don't know yet, remember? Wu must be asleep by now." Cole coldly said.

The brunet started to feel like he was going to cry. He really wanted to hug them. His parents. Tell them that he and Lloyd were safe. Tears where about to stream down his face when all their faces turned loving, reassuring.

"If you are not ready to tell them, that's fine. But you know that you can't live with it forever." Nya sighed. Cole spoke up next.

"They are your parents. They will accept who you are and what you want to do." He put a hand on his shoulder. "Trust me, I know firsthand that that not everyone is like this."

Lloyd stayed silent in the background. "Look," He finally spoke. "All three of us have a rough past with our parents. Heck, our mission is to kill mine." He sighed. "I'd been living with these people for some weeks, even months. They are great people. They deserve to know"

Jay took a deep breath. "You guys are right. I promise I'll tell them tomorrow, okay?" He said, giving them a weak smile.

"And that's the right thing to do." They all smiled back.

He slowly went to their room as the others decided to stay behind for a bit. 'What do I do now? Sit here and do nothing? I mean, they will learn about it at some point..'

"Ugh!" He groaned, burying his face in his pillow. "I'll find a way tomorrow.." He muttered, before he finally fell asleep.
