The next morning Steve and I walked hand in hand down to the cells where the men were imprisoned.

I released my hand from Steve's and stop walking.

"What wrong?" Steve asks, turning back to me.

"I thought I knew the man who I grew up with, and now I'm about to confront him. I never though I'd say I was afraid of my brother. But now I am and I don't know if I can do this." I say.

Steve takes my hands in his, "You are the strongest woman I have ever met. To confront your brother who's a murderer, that takes courage. And your courage is unmeasurable. You can do this. And if you feel like you can't do this, don't forget that I'm standing right next to you. Not just as a friend, but as your boyfriend. If he tries to hurt you, he has to go through me first. I love you Alice, and I'm going to do whatever it takes to keep you safe."

Steve pulls me in for a hug. Does he know that he smells so good? I can't even tell what cologne he's wearing, but he smells amazing.

Steve has his hand on my waist as we enter the room where they were holding the two men. Cole was in one cell, and the metal armed man was in another.

"Ah, the captain and his precious girlfriend. Come to pay me a visit?" Cole asks.

"Enough, Cole." I snap back.

"No, I'm just getting started." He tries.

"Listen to your sister." Steve tries.

"I wouldn't even call her my sister." Cole responds, his arms crossed and eyes glaring at me.

"What makes you think that I could call you my brother?" I retort.

"What makes you think that I ever cared about you, Alice?" Cole stands and leaned against the walls of the cell.

"That's enough!" Steve calls out.

I move towards the other cell, the metal armed man just sat there, glaring at me. Steve approached from behind.

"Who is he?" Steve asked me.

"I don't know." I responded.

Steve walks in front of me, "Who are you?" He asked. The metal armed man just stood there, glaring at Steve.

"He's a waste of time." Steve concludes after questioning him for ten minutes.

"Why would you try and kill me?" I asked my brother.

"You're just another enemy, Alice. I won't stop until SHIELD is gone." Cole replies.

"You won't even get near her." Steve defends me.

"I might've failed twice, but third time's the charm, Alice!" Cole shouts.

In a state of panic, I run out of the room. Steve was right behind me.

"Third time's the charm!" Cole shouts, and it echoes in my ears.
