I am a big Yoshi fanboy and its no secret. I know a bunch about Yoshi so here we go, 10 facts about Yoshi! XD

1.Yoshi was originally going to be in the first Super Mario Brothers and was going to look more like the picture down below

He also appears to originally going to be a Koopa like creature.
But due to the limitations of the NES, he wasn't included until Super Mario World.

2.Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island was named Super Mario Yoshi's Island in Japan. The close reason why the name was changed in the west is because of the big success of Super Mario World in the west and that Nintendo of America didn't think that it wouldnt be very successful if the game was just called Super Mario Yoshi's Island.

3. Yoshi's don't have genders and they come in a multitude of colors.

4. Yoshi's Story was original called Yoshi's Island 64 because after the huge success of the original Yoshi's Island. They wanted tao make a squeal for the N64.

5. Yoshi is a koopa like creature

6.Birdo is girl and in the Super Mario 2 (Western version) manual it says about him: She is a he and he wants to be called Birdeta. So its Birdo that's gay. Not Yoshi.

7. Yoshi Story has a loooot of unused beta images. So let's take a look at some early images

from Space World 1996
First let's look at this unused Select Yoshi screen, with is called Select player and there were originally was a brown and purple yoshi, but was replaced by the black and white Yoshi

This unused 1-1world appear to be made of cardboard and seems to be more 3D-ish than the final version , also there's a smiley flower with is not present in the final game.

This early Piranha growth level design from Space World 1996 has more piranha plants and has a more details background and has more realistic platforms

The Skeleton Dragons in an underground level in Yoshi's Story were actually…just dragons in the earlier version of the game.

And this unused water level with probably appears to be an unused version a Jungle puddle has more realistic water and platforms/background. What makes this image really interesting is that there is a Giant Shyguy, with never appeared in the game.

This last one is an early Jungle hut level with looks very different from the final design, also if you look in the upper left corner you can see and unused tiny Shyguy.

8. There was actual going to be a Yoshi's Island Advance, and it looks soooo awesome in my opinion, but sadly it was only a tech demo and we will never get to see Yoshi's Story on the GBA 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
