BIRDSONGS WERE WHAT awoke Autumn, she could barely sleep, it was quite hard for her to. Almost immediately as she examined her surroundings, she felt disheartened. It was all not a dream.

Stretching her arms, a chill ran up her spine as her bare feet made contact with the floor. The wooden surface was cold and had yet to feel used to. Aimlessly walking, she encountered a mirror and nearly jumped up in fright.

Bags sat heavily under her eyes, sleep in the corners of them. She rubbed them, still drowsy from the lack of rest. Brushing her teeth and washing her face, she felt refreshed. Trying to give herself a reassuring smile, she nodded to herself in the mirror.

"There's more yet to be discovered. By then, I could perhaps leave this strange place." With that, Autumn exited the tent she was to settle into.

The afternoon sun rays kissed her glowing cheeks. Squirrels pecked at their acorns beside her, as birds hurried away home to fetch some lunch. "Maybe there is something to look forward to everyday." Autumn murmured, as she saw Grey try to fly a colourful kite in shape of a butterfly across the daisy fields.

Far ahead of them were the boys she met the evening before. One in particular stood out the most. He caught her eye and sent her a challenging smirk.

Grass scraped at her shins, the light breeze encouraged her to move on forward. Autumn could recognise those pair of deep green eyes about any where. Those exact pair belonged to her captor, though these ones were attached to a human- not a shadow.

"Ah, I see our new arrival has finally decided to join us today. How good are you at fighting?" There was a heavy british accent that dripped from his voice, it was posh and more exaggerated than Autumn's. He lifted his right eyebrow, "Are you going to converse with me or are you going to stay mute?"

Rubbing her left arm with her right palm, she shivered at the tone of his voice. "I'm . . . I'm sorry. I apologise, very sorry. I yes, yes I can fight."

"Really now?" The left corner of his lips tugged upwards, "Fighting is not for the faintest of hearts or for the weak." His eyes flittered from her boots to her determined face and chuckled.

She lifted her chin higher, scowling, she did not like his opinions on her."Who said I had a faint heart? I could tackle an enemy far too easily." confronting him, Autumn grabbed a sword from the ground and pinned him onto the body of the tree.

Pan's breath was hot against her wrist. There was something hauntingly breathtaking about him. He looked as if one snark comment could break him. But, he was better than that, he was far more stronger than he looked.

The boys chorused a gasp.

Autumn placed the tip of the shining sword under his chin. "Now who's the weak one?" Her eyes stayed on his, they were like whirlpools of mystery, one could get hallucinated by them if they looked into them for too long.

She fell into his spell, and let out a squeal when Pan knocked her from off her feet. The sword reverberated out of reach. He sauntered over, feeling rather too victorious and grasped onto the handle of the sword.

"Never, let your guard down." He said, monotonously. Winking at her and chuckling at her eye roll, Pan bitterly stuck the sword down into the mud.

Those words rang through his mind. Pan knew what happened if he let his own guard down. Trauma began to circle his mind, he grimaced and lightly hit his head as if it could take those thoughts away. Though, he couldn't show any signs of weakness. For it could attract all kinds of violence and bad luck. Enemies would be quick to act- to pounce on his unarmed body.

Clapping behind him was Blythe, "Well done Pan, I think you scared her off. Perhaps she'll leave Neverland now."

Pan scoffed, "Now why would she leave?"

"It's quite simple, you are a monster."

Anger flowed within Pan's veins, he squeezed his fist tight. "You give me that tone again, or-"

"Or what?"

"You'll end up like-"

Blythe crossed his arms, "Go on, say her name. You wouldn't dare because, you're weak."

Pan's fist moved faster than he could think.

It collided into Blythe's face, red metallic blood spewed down his chin. Quivering, he tried his best to hold back his tears, whilst being pulled away by the hands of River. Pan was being dragged away by Autumn.

"Okay what the Heck is going on here?" River asked, not entirely surprised by the scene before him. The two boys always fought. He couldn't blame them for Blythe and Pan loved Wendy too much.

"You tell him Pan," Blythe spat and shook his finger towards the boy who stared at his palms. "he was going to kill me."

Pan still drilled holes, with his vision, into his own palms.

He was scared.

The way all the boys looked at him with disbelief, and the way Autumn looked at him differently than before, even though he had just met her, was all enough for him to break down.

"I would never kill you Blythe." His voice was in mere whisper.

"Yes you would, just like you did to Wendy. Because I remind you of her don't I?" Spit sprayed everywhere as he spoke. "So you better get your bags packing Autumn, because he'll come for you next." He stared at her, before coughing into his palms. Blythe's eyes went cross-eyed, at the sight of his own blood, and he fell into River's arms.

River sighed, "Time to get you patched up Bly." he shook his head at how impulsive his friend could be. Always leading himself into trouble.

Breathing heavily and stunned, all Autumn could think of was planning a way out of Neverland. Still clutching Pan's arms, keeping him away from attacking Blythe any further, she dropped her hands. No word was left from her mouth as Autumn walked away.

From afar, Pan was a delicate mosaic. Up front, you could see every individual crack that formed together a picture. Each crack represented the wounds within his soul, he was falling apart more and more each day.

And no one could see that except, himself . . . and perhaps Autumn too.
