Newts P.O.V

The boys had spent all night by the maze doors. Waiting for them to open.

All we could hear was the grievers put there. I knew they would survive. She's a tough fighter.

As the doors opened we all jumped to our feet. At first we didn't see anyone but I didn't move from my spot.

Suddenly 3 bodies came around the corner but I frowned. Something wasn't right.

As they finally got to us everyone looked at Alby. "Minho. Where is she?" I asked.

Everyone's attention went to minho as he stood up and walked in front of me.

He then rested a hand on my shoulder. "she sacrificed herself to save Thomas. He was about to get stung when she threw herself in the way."

My entire body went stiff. She wasn't gone. I refuse to believe that she was gone.

"What do you mean? Why didn't you carry her?!" I asked a little angry.

"She wouldn't let us. She knew if we carried her, none of us would make it out alive." Thomas spoke as everyone stared at us.

I narrowed my eyes at Thomas. He's the reason she's gone. I glared daggers into him.

"Wait you saw a greiver?" Chuck asked. "He did more then see it. He killed it." Minho stated.

"Get Alby to the med jacks. Meeting now." I growled as I stormed off to the meeting pit.

I sat as Gally started the meeting. "Things are different now." I crossed my arms.

"The first thing that show it is Ben and alby both get stung in broad daylight." I was supposed to be in charge but I couldn't.

"Now our greenie here has taken it upon himself to enter the maze." I glared at Thomas trying not to be angry.

"Which is a violation of the rules put in place to keep us safe." I frowned slightly. We only had the rules because of Taylor.

"Him stupidly running into the maze has cost us so much already." Gally grunted.

"We lost one of our best warriors." Gally kept talking as I scoffed. Eyes turned to me.

"Stop beating around the bush Gally." I growled as I stood up straight. "She wasn't just a warrior. She was family."

"She sacrificed so much for us, even in her last moments she still wanted those boys out of the maze safe."

I shook my head. "Everything bad started happening the second the greenie showed up."

"First she starts having nightmares, then she becomes more tense in the maze."

"We all noticed her change in attitude the second he showed up. And now she died to save his ass." I grunted lowly.

"Hold up." Minho put in. "She said a few things before she died."

My eyes snapped to minho. "She wanted us to tell newt she loved him. Wanted to tell Gally not to hide from his feelings."

I turned to Gally seeing him have a understanding look on his face. "Asked us to watch chuck."

"But then her whole mood changed. It was like she suddenly remembered everything." This caught my attention.

"She said 'minho, listen. It's so obvious.' she said it was right in front of us the whole time." Minho's voice cracked.

"What was?" I asked taking a step forward. "Our way out. She said to follow the grievers. Follow them and you'll make it out."

I stared confused. "Is it possible she got her memories back?" I asked. Minho shrugged.

"We don't know. We will have to ask Alby when he wakes up." Gally put in.

I sighed looking at Thomas. "She's gone because your here." I pointed out as everyone waited for my next actions.

"So I'll be damned if her sacrifice goes to waist. He doesn't get banished and that's final." I turned my gaze to Gally.

"Well minho what do you think?" Gally asked trying to get some help from someone.

"Out of all my days I've been a runner, nobody has ever killed a griever before." Minho crossed his arms.

"Taylor put her faith in Thomas. It's like she knew he was important. She went from wanting to kill him to asking him to save us all." My eyes went to Thomas.

If she had faith in him, I guess I should too. "I say we make him a runner." This caused a uproar.

Suddenly a loud alarm went through the walls. "Is that?" I asked knowing exactly what it was.

A greenie alarm. We all took off towards the box as it opened. Once it opened I stared confused as I hopped down.

"Newt what do you see?" I heard someone asked. I looked up at them. "It's a girl?" I said with questions.

"What's in her hand?" Gally asked as I grabbed the piece of paper and unrolled it.

"She's the last one ever. Try not to get this one killed." I voiced out the letter.

"What the hell does that mean?" I asked confused. The girl randomly woke up breathing heavily.

"Thomas." She breathed out before passing out. "You still think I'm over reacting?"

Gally asked obviously annoyed. As the boys took the girl to the room I followed after with minho, and Thomas behind me.

"Jeff, what's going on? What's the matter with her? Why won't she wake up?" I asked.

"Hey man. I got my job the same way you did. I don't know. These are the kind of things Taylor would take care of."

He gave me a apologetic look. I noticed thomas staring at her. "You recognize her?"

He shook his head in response. "Really cause she seemed to recognize you." I accusingly stated.

"We should be focusing on the note." Thomas tried pointing out. "Later." I simply said.

"He's right newt. The box ain't coming back up how long do you think we got?" Jeff asked.

"Nobody said that. We will wait till she wakes up and get some answers then." I tried reasoning.

"Alright." Thomas said before beginning to walk away. "Where are you going?"

"Back into the maze." Thomas said before leaving. I gave minho a look telling him to go after Thomas. When will this end.
