Dizzy: In the city of Fortuna, there existed an organization known as the Order of the Sword. This organization worshiped the legendary Dark Knight Sparda, the demon that rebelled against the Demon King Mundus and sealed the door between the human world and the demon world, as a god, as he acted as the feudal lord of the city long ago. The Order acted as a sort of cult, worshipping the knight and capturing other demons, as well as various Devil Arms, weapons manifested from defeated demons. Among this cult was a young boy known only as Nero.

Junko: Yeah, not much was known about this kid at the time. The guy was kinda an orphan named after the black blanket they found him in when he was a baby. But yeah, he grew up in the Order alongside his girlfriend, Kyrie, and her brother, Credo. Everything was going pretty well until one day when the Order was attacked by the one and only... Dante.

Dizzy: This moment would change Nero's life forever, as it would turn out that Dante was Nero's uncle and Nero himself was the son of Dante's brother, Vergil.

Junko: Wow, talk about a powerful family. Almost as powerful as your family, right Dizzy?

Dizzy: Let's not overestimate my family. I mean, I like them but Nero's is much cooler so to speak.

Junko: I'll say. Since Vergil is part demon, it makes Nero pretty much incredibly strong!

Junko: Small GIF aside, Nero can toss around demons three times his size like it was nothing! He can tear down buildings and a single clash with Dante created shockwaves!

Dizzy: Dante himself has stated Nero might be stronger than him in terms of brute strength, which isn't too shocking. Nero can easily slice through steel and has gone toe-to-toe with both Dante and Vergil alike. He's taken foes so powerful they can create massive storms and blizzards with ease, and even they were no match for Nero.

Junko: And he's super fast too!

Junko: The kid can easily keep up with guys like Vergil and Dante, who can dodge lasers, surf on missiles, and move at Mach speeds like it's nothing! Nero himself is fast enough to dodge lightning and light-based attacks!

Dizzy: He's also kept up with a Fury, which is capable of hopping through time and space. Along with this, Nero is incredibly durable.

Dizzy: He's had his arm ripped off, was impaled on several occasions, and has taken hits from several demons that can easily rip through steel. This includes both Dante and Vergil alike. In fact, Nero should scale to their own physical stats.

Junko: Virgil survived getting cut in half while Dante wasn't even phased by getting caught up in the middle of an explosion! He's taken a barrage of meteors and has even been hit by Hellfire, flames much more dangerous than regular fire as it bypasses one's resistance to heat!

Dizzy: This is thanks to Nero's Demonic Heritage.

Dizzy: In the world of Devil May Cry, a Demon's physical power comes from their Demonic power.

Junko: Well yeah. That's why it's called Demonic power. Naturally, it gives Nero all the superhuman physical strength he needs to get the job done.

Dizzy: It also gives him a powerful healing factor that's very similar to Vergil's and Dante's. This healing factor helped Nero survive getting partially melted and Vergil has even come back from just his soul.

Junko: His Demonic Heritage is also what gives him his sick demonic arm, Devil Bringer!

Dizzy: This unique arm is incredibly durable, able to block sword strikes barehanded, along with a variety of supernatural abilities. He can project it as energy to grab objects and foes from afar, extend its claws for slashes, absorb demonic artifacts to grant the arm new abilities, and even project the arm to sizes so massive that it could crush the face of a giant colossus. Although it was ripped off by Vergil, Nero was able to regrow it to not only regain his old powers, but also awaken its true potential in a pair of taloned wings made of demonic energy, which have the added bonus of flight, razor-sharp slashes, and dual attacks.

Junko: Yeah, great reunion with his kid though! Hey son, I'm back with the milk! Now give me your arm and I'll leave you again! Happy birthday! Speaking of arms though, he did need something to replace that arm he lost. So he got an upgrade! Akame, would you do the honors?

Akame: Hm?

Junko: You've been quiet for half of this. Don't tell me you're still mad about losing.

Akame: Of course not. Nero was lucky to have a friend who could replace his arm for him with something more metallic... a Devil Breaker.

Akame: Created by Nico Goldstein, the Devil Breakers each come with a variety of uses and possess specialized abilities for combat. Every arm comes with a standard grappling wire for snatching enemies from afar or bringing Nero in up close, along with a self-destruct mechanism when the arm is heavily damaged known as a Break Away, allowing Nero to switch out his arms, damage nearby enemies, break out of restraints, and activate powerful all-out attacks specific to said Breakers. Although Nero has regrown his right arm, he can convert said arm into energy to use the Devil Breakers at any time he needs.

Dizzy: The first Devil Breaker is Overturn. Made using a part from a Blitz demon, this arm is fairly straightforward as its basic attack "Battery" fires an electric burst in the shape of a giant hand while its Break Age move "Exploder"...well turns the arm into a bomb that Nero can stick to an enemy to deal heavy damage. This bomb can be manually detonated.

Junko: Then there's Gerbera a Devil Breaker that launches shockwaves for its basic attack "Jocky" which can be used either as a "palm blast" similar to Overture's basic attack or be used to propel him upwards. It also has two Break Ages with its ground-based variant, "Stamen Ray", firing a continuous laser beam dealing devastating damage and giving them "A little taste of the good shit" while its mid-air Break Age "Petal Ray" fires out multiple ricocheting lasers.

Dizzy: Punchline is a rocket-propelled Devil Breaker that can be launched off and fly around to constantly chase down and hit enemies independently of Nero, or used as a hoverboard to let Nero fly around the battlefield and strike enemies at high speeds all he likes. And with its Break Age, he can release the arm to uppercut enemies into the air like a rocket-powered Shoryuken.

Junko: So it's basically a rocket punch. Meanwhile, the Helter Skelter has incredible penetration power and is made specifically to break an opponent's guard. And with Tomboy he can boost the power of his weapons that we'll get into later.

Dizzy: He also has the Buster Arm, a Devil Breaker meant to replicate Nero's original Devil Bringer abilities when he had lost his arm to his father Vergil. While this results in a powerhouse breaker capable of throwing enemies with devastating force, this brute strength comes at the price of reduced durability, making it prone to breakage.

Junko: Though it's not like these things are the most durable arms in the world. Anyway, he also has Rawhide... it's a Devil Breaker that turns into a large whip. It's kinky but not as kinky as the Sweet Surrender. You know that's gotta be Kyrie's favorite.

Dizzy: Junko...

Junko: It's not his weirdest arm though. I mean there's the Pasta Breaker, there's the one made of bananas, and the Gerbera GP01, which has all of the same abilities as the original Gerbera, with an added bonus of excelling in mobility via shockwaves Nero can fire. Oh right, let's not forget that this guy has Megaman's Mega Buster!

Dizzy: Lastly is Ragtime, a unique Devil Breaker that creates bubbles of time that slow down anything caught in their area of effect, including Nero himself. These bubbles last a short period of time, and only one can be created at a time for Nero to use. However, should he use its Break Age, it will slow down all enemies in the area around him even further with no detriment to Nero, leaving just about anything open for him to attack.

Akame: But Nero doesn't just have these Devil Breakers as weapons. He also has his signature blade, the Red Queen.

Akame: A turbo-charged demon cleaver, which is modeled after the German Großes Messer.

Junko: Gro- what now?

Dizzy: Great Sword in English.

Akame:  A version of the Order's anti-demon weapon customized just for Nero. Equipped with a combustion engine, using the added power and propulsion to his sword swings. Revving the hilt like a motorcycle activates the Exceed system, which coats the blade in flames to set foes ablaze. This and a few other modifications make Red Queen comparable to Devil Arms in power and nearly impossible for anyone but Nero to wield.

Junko: He doesn't just have a sword, but a gun too! Meet Blue Rose! Not the guild from Black Clover.

Junko: A heavily modified version of the Smith & Wesson Model 500, crafted by Nero himself. It's capable of shooting two bullets with one pull of the trigger. It's got a 6-shot cylinder, an extra barrel underneath allowing for a double shot, and targeting sights and porting on each barrel to reduce recoil and muzzle flip. There's also a split lag between the first and second bullets. Thanks to that, the first bullet breaks the enemy's armor while the second pierces through the damaged surface and inflicts actual damage.

Dizzy: And I thought Ann and Boomstick were the gun experts...

Junko: I spend too much time with them both! Oh yeah, its shots can also be charged with demonic energy for a higher damage input.

Akame: Last but not least is the Yamato blade.

Akame: Sharper than any katana, the Yamato is stated to be able to cut through virtually anything, even the very fabric of space itself.

Junko: Too bad Nero was never able to use it to its full potential.

Akame: Even so, it allows him to summon and fire phantom swords, as well as a spectral demon avatar that mimics Nero's movements and attacks with Yamato. He can also use the blade in conjunction with the Red Queen for a barrage, or use the Yamato to unleash a barrage of slashes.

Junko: Other things in his arsenal include a Sephirothic Fruit that causes demonic plants to wither away, a golden stone that lets Nero revive himself, an Aegis Shield, and the Key of Cronus which manipulates the very fabric of time and space!

Dizzy: But if things get really rough, Nero can always activate his Devil Trigger.

Dizzy: After learning of his heritage to Vergil, Nero steeled his resolve and refused to let his newly discovered family die, unlocking his Devil Trigger. This form greatly enhances all of Nero's capabilities and then some, including his speed, strength, toughness, and healing capabilities, the latter to the point of regenerating his entire arm from a stump. He also gains a set of clawed wings for flight, enhancing his slashes, and acting as twin Devil Bringers in order to grab and attack any enemies from afar. This form was even able to defeat Vergil in his Devil Trigger, even after he had taken the power of the Qliphoth and Nero's old arm. While it does have a time limit depending on how much demonic energy Nero has, his sheer speed and power gives him more than enough to take advantage plenty of times over.

Junko: But that doesn't mean Nero is the strongest guy on earth. Far from it.

Junko: Despite lacking the experience of Dante and Vergil, Nero's pretty hot-headed, arrogant, cocky, and stubborn. I guess it runs in the family.

Dizzy: And if he's dealt enough damage, it could deplete his healing factor or cause the power of Yamato to weaken. His Devil Breakers aren't exactly unbreakable either.

Akame: He also has a tendency of being annoyed when being called dead weight, because everyone knows he's anything but.

Nero: You know God, I always hated that you made my arm like this. But now with it, I can destroy this thing. Who would've thought?
