Kokonoe: Phew...

Junko: You okay now?

Ann: You kinda went berserk last time.

Kokonoe: I'm fine I'm fine. No need to worry.

Junko: Good, because we still have to go over his Haki!

Ann: Oh right, he does have that doesn't he.

Ann: Haki is a mysterious power that allows the user to utilize their own spiritual energy for various purposes. There are three types of Haki and Luffy is among the small number of people in the world who can use all three types of Haki. Most notable, Silvers Rayleigh, Gol D. Roger's First Mate, and Right-Hand Man instructed him during the two-year timeskip who stated he has a noticeable talent for Haki, having mastered the basics of all three types of Haki in only a year and a half.

Junko: The first type of Haki Luffy knows is Armament Haki.

Kokonoe: This lets Luffy use his own spiritual energy as armor to defend against attacks, as well as make his own attacks more potent. A person can apply the armament to a section of their body, over their entire body, and even apply it to their weapons. He regularly uses it in combat in the New World to increase his defenses and attack power, and with it, he is now able to strike Logia users, such as Caesar Clown, and those with powers similar to that of a Logia, like Katakuri

Junko: But Luffy didn't just achieve Armament Haki, he learned the advanced level of it.

Junko: While in Udon, Luffy started learning advanced Armament Haki to bypass Kaido's tough scales after he recalled Rayleigh deflecting and harming an enormous elephant on Rusukaina without touching it. Amid his instruction to emit Haki a short distance, he inadvertently advanced to a higher-grade of advanced Armament Haki where he channels it into his target's body, thus letting him destroy them from the inside out.

Kokonoe: After relentless non-stop training under Hyogoro's supervision for a week and striking a thick steel block using his hardened arms, Luffy could emit Armament Haki at will, blasting a hole through a tree's opposite side by emitting Haki from his hardened fist. He later removed Yamato's explosive cuffs by destroying them from the inside out, showing conscious control over this higher-grade Armament Haki

Ann: He also knows Observation Haki!

Kokonoe: Luffy learned to use Observation Haki during the two-year timeskip. With it, he is capable of sensing the presence, emotion, and intent of others, greatly aiding his ability to dodge attacks, such as bullets. He is highly proficient at using this Haki, he can even predict attacks from beings with little to no emotion like a Pacifista

Ann: And he advanced this one too.

Ann: While in Totto Land, he significantly strengthened this Haki by battling Charlotte Katakuri, who had mastered this Haki enough to enable him to see a little bit into the future. After many hours of applying his Observation Haki and pushing it to the limit, Luffy was able to visualize Katakuri's next moves extremely well, as well as develop his Haki enough to dodge many of Katakuri's attacks and prevent Katakuri from dodging his. After leaving Totto Land, Luffy has been able to dodge attacks with even greater ease, as shown when he instantly took out a Beasts Pirates scout in Wano Country as soon as they began to try to attack him, and afterward dodged multiple strikes from the sumo master Urashima without displaying any effort.

Kokonoe: And by the time of his imprisonment in the Prisoner Mine in Udon, he has further developed his ability to see the future and can now see the short-term future as fluidly as Katakuri can as shown when he instructed Hyogoro on how to dodge multiple attacks from Alpacaman and Madilloman several seconds before they happened. He later stopped warden Babanuki's Excite Shot attack before he initiated it, stating that he did it because he "saw a terrible future".

Junko: And finally, his most important one... Conquers Haki!

Junko: A very rare type of Haki whose users are said to have the qualities of a king. This grants Luffy the ability to overpower the will of others. This results in victims being mentally overwhelmed by the user, with particularly weak-willed foes instantly losing consciousness.

Kokonoe: This power was latent within him, and was first seen used at the Flying Fish Riders' base to stop the bison Motobaro. Luffy then unintentionally used it in the arena at Amazon Lily to stop Marguerite's group from being killed, in Level 5 of Impel Down to knock out attacking wolves, and at Marineford to knock out the executioners who were about to kill Ace, along with many elite Marines and New World pirates.

Ann: Silvers Rayleigh taught him about this power on Rusukaina, and Luffy trained to use it at will. After the timeskip, Luffy used it to knock out the members of the Fake Straw Hat Crew, and not days later at Fish-Man Island, he was able to knock out 50,000 members of the New Fish-Man Pirates in an instant. When he fought against fellow Conquers Haki users Chinjao, Donquixote Doflamingo, and Charlotte Katakuri, their clashes created a notable effect similar to lightning. Even when unconscious, Luffy could still use Conquers Haki. After Kaido knocked him out, Luffy used Conquers Haki on some of the Beast's Pirates before they took him into custody.

Junko: Also, just like the other three, he learned the Advanced version of this too.

Ann: While fighting Kaidou on Onigashima, Luffy came to understand that he could use his Conquers Haki to infuse his arms and legs and exponentially increase his attack power, becoming one of only a handful of Conquers users known to achieve this advanced technique. With this new skill, Luffy dramatically enhanced the destructive capabilities of the advanced Armament Haki attacks that he recently learned, becoming capable of striking Kaido with immensely powerful blows without even making direct contact with the Emperor's body. Much like other people shown using this advanced application, thin streams of dark energy are shown emanating from Luffy's arms when he infuses them

Kokonoe: However, due to having only understood it for a short time, his control over the ability is stated to be "crude" and "clumsy" by Kaido, and led to him being swiftly defeated by the Emperor after managing to briefly clash on equal ground with him.

Ann: But not long after that, the two clashed again and split the sky with their Conquers Haki! A feat only achieved when two of the Four Emperors fought each other. This may indicate that Luffy's Haki has ascended to the same level as that of the strongest pirates in the world.

Junko: Wait, isn't that, like, a huge deal? Kaido easily scales to the likes of Whitebeard, whose Devil Fruit is said to be able to destroy the entire One Piece world!

Kokonoe: Well, we can't take that quote too seriously. The highest Whitebeards devil fruit has been shown to destroy isn't any bigger than our own moon... and probably our Earth but even that's a stretch and he's not shown to be capable of destroying the One Piece Earth yet.

Junko: Eh? What's the difference?

Kokonoe: There's a huge difference. After all, the One Piece world is 4.7x bigger than our own sun.

Junko: Huh... yeah, maybe that is beyond anything Luffy's shown, so let's just stick with what we know.

Ann: Right! We still haven't gone over his Gears!

Kokonoe: Right. Luffy has found new ways of utilizing his Devil Fruit, developing transformations to his body called Gears. We, of course, will start off with Gear Second.

Junko: In this form, Luffy increases the size of his blood vessels, causing his blood to flow more quickly and pumping more oxygen and nutrients through his body! This greatly increases his speed and power, as in this form, he is capable of keeping up with users of the Soru technique and overwhelming the defensive capabilities Tekkai technique!

Kokonoe: Initially, Luffy activated this by pumping blood through his legs to activate the effect across his entire body, but after the timeskip, he has shown to have more control over it and can activate it in any select part of his in his body. Before his two-year training, the usage of Gear Second depleted his energy quickly and even threatened his lifespan, but in the present day, its effects appear to have been reduced.

Ann: Also, by combining Gear 2 with Haki, Luffy can use my favorite and one of his most powerful attacks, Red Hawk!

https://youtu.be/fzihSJIGOBg

Ann: Where he punches his opponent with such speed and force that it causes his fist to ignite into a shroud of flames! By the time of the raid on Onigashima, his Red Hawk was strong enough that it forced Kaido, one of the strongest Pirates in the world who is renowned for his near-indestructible body, to actually dodge the attack!

Junko: He has other attacks too like the Jet Pistol! Where he delivers a Gomu Gomu no Pistol so fast that the fist's movement is invisible, and it truly seems like he shoots his opponent, except that the resulting impact is not akin to an actual pistol but to a small hand-held cannon and powerful enough to propel the unlucky recipient several meters away!  The incredible speed both makes the strike far more powerful and harder to dodge!

Ann: He actually has a bunch of attacks that are much faster and stronger. And when he adds Haki, they increase immensely. Like the Eagle Bazooka, Hawk Whip, and Hawk Gattling.

Junko: Then he's got Gear Third!

Junko: By blowing a massive amount of air into his thumb, Luffy can inflate the bones of a particular part of his body, making it gigantic!

Ann: Wait, even his bones are rubber?

Kokonoe: Right. All of Luffy's bones and organs are rubber, which is why he has a much bigger appetite than most.

Junko: Anyway, These inflated body parts are capable of inflicting damage on a massive scale, being able to break through walls and large structures with ease, and Gear Third's power became magnified when Luffy learned to use Busoshoku Haki during the timeskip!

Kokonoe: Initially, Gear Third would cause Luffy to shrink to the size of a child after its use, temporarily limiting his fighting capabilities until his body returned to normal. However, this no longer happens after Luffy's two years of training.

Junko: Since most of the techniques in this mode are basically the same as the regular attacks, but greatly augmented by his increased mass and power, we won't be going over every single one. But we'll at least talk about most of them.

Ann: Like the Elephant Gun!

Ann: After pumping air into his fist to drastically increase its mass, Luffy uses his Haki to harden it, turning his arm black in the process. Luffy then attacks in a similar motion to when he uses his Gigant Pistol, launching his fist towards his opponent.

Junko: He has an enhanced version called the Elephant Thor Gun, in which Luffy launches himself into the air with Gomu Gomu no Rocket first, before striking, discharging electricity when it lands.

Kokonoe: There's also the Elephant Gatling Gun, which is basically a giant, haki enhanced Gomu-Gomu no Gatling Gun.

Junko: And the Grizzly Magnum, where after enlarging and imbuing both his arms with Haki and gaining a considerable distance from his opponent, Luffy stretches his arms back and strikes with open palms simultaneously while in the air!

Ann: He has the Gomu-Gomu no Tsuppari, where after enlarging his arms, Luffy strikes his opponent with an open palm. This move doesn't require the use of Haki

Kokonoe: And finally there's the more powerful version of that, the Gigant Tsuppari. A move in which Luffy stretches his arm very far back, and as it shoots forward he inflates it greatly before striking his opponent with a massive open palm.

Junko: Now that we're done with Gears Second and Third, we can talk about Gear Fourth!

Kokonoe: Right. In order to activate the technique, Luffy coats his arm in Armament Haki before biting into his forearm. Similar to how he activates Gear Third, he blows an incredible amount of air into his body, but this time he inflates his muscular structure before distributing the air throughout his body, with emphasis on his upper half. Luffy's proportions become warped and his body becomes much larger in size, with his arms, upper torso, and legs coated in Armament Haki. The coating across his torso resembles the wispy ends made from flames, giving it the appearance of tattoos, and he also gains shading around the inner and outer edges of his eyes. Gear Fourth also increases Luffy's metabolism.

Junko: Right.  There are three known forms of Gear 4 and we're starting with Gear 4 Boundman-

Junko: What the heck?! That thing looks ridiculous!

Kokonoe: In this form, Luffy's proportions become warped and his body becomes much larger in size, with his arms, upper torso, and legs coated in Busoshoku Haki. In this form, Luffy is continuously emitting steam in this form. As a side-effect, he is incapable of standing still on the ground, and instead constantly bounces on the spot. While Luffy is using Boundman, his physical strength and speed are increased whereas before, Gear Second's lack of strength and Gear Third's lack of speed made them ineffective individually.

Ann: He can also fly and can now redirect his punches during an attack instead of retracting it back, allowing himself to bypass to necessary build-up time between attacks, making his attacks into semi-homing attacks using a technique called Culverin!

Kokonoe: He also has plenty of attacks.

Junko: Like the Gomu-Gomu no Kong Gun!

https://youtu.be/r8Bv-1XPzxI

Junko: After compressing his fist into his enlarged forearm and making it look like an actual cannon, Luffy unleashes a devastating short-range punch with enough power to break through Doflamingo's own Haki-enhanced defense and blow the Shichibukai all the way from Dressrosa's palace to the middle of the city!

Ann: He has an enhanced version called the King Kong Gun!

Ann: The Gear Fourth version of Gomu Gomu no Gigant Pistol and Gomu Gomu no Elephant Gun, and one of the most powerful techniques Luffy has ever utilized in any form! After Luffy compresses his fist, as he does for Kong Gun, he blows a large amount of air into his arm, drastically increasing its size, then unleashes it for a devastating blow!

Kokonoe: This was first used to defeat Doflamingo, and was powerful enough to break through the Warlord's Spider's Web and God Thread techniques simultaneously, while still maintaining enough momentum to send him flying into the city below with enough force to completely level the town and cause the ground to fold in on itself.

Junko: While in Wano Country, Luffy learned to advance his Armament Haki and performed a new version of this attack. Using this version, he does not inflate his arm and instead projects Haki out of his fist. This allows Luffy to hit objects with an equivalent amount of power without even making physical contact. A single attack was powerful enough to shatter a large block of steel.

Kokonoe: He's got a move called Rhino Schneider, where he compresses his legs into his body and delivers a flying double dropkick. It has enough power to send the opponent crashing through dozens of buildings and across a town center.

Ann: He has the Leo Bazooka, which is the Gear 4th version of the Gomu-Gomu no Bazooka.

Kokonoe: And the Kong Rifle which is a Gear 4 version of the Gomu Gomu no Rifle

Junko: And the Gomu-Gomu no Kong Organ, which is a rapid-fire version of the Kong Gun!  After compressing both fists into his arms, Luffy moves his arms horizontally in a rapid fashion, with the afterimages giving the impression of two extra pairs of arms being materialized, before releasing a flurry of continuous heavy punches! This was first used against Cracker's Biscuit Soldiers, and each individual punch was powerful enough to smash through a biscuit shield!

Ann:  And that's about it for Boundman. There's Tankman, but he's mostly just fat. So next up is Snakeman!

Kokonoe: Luffy takes a form similar to Bound-Man, but he appears much skinnier, and this form focuses heavily on the use of homing attacks and a dramatic increase in speed. In this form, Luffy gains a significant increase in speed and ability to use "Python" to change the direction of his attacks, the latter of which he also possesses in his Boundman form. However, Snakeman allows his attacks to continuously accelerate the longer they last, allowing Luffy not only to press an attack more fiercely on an opponent capable of dodging but also to increase the attack's speed and power until he finally lands the hit.

Junko: Attacks include the Gomu Gomu no Jet Culverin!

Junko:  Similar in nature to Bound-Man's Culverin attack, but much faster.

Kokonoe: Then there's the Black Mamba.

Kokonoe: A mix between Python and Gomu Gomu no Orgun, sending a flurry of attacks that home in on the enemy should they deflect or dodge the initial punches.

Ann: And finally the King Cobra!

https://youtu.be/bkefF53B5pQ

Ann: Luffy compresses his arm, and as he releases it, instead of directly targeting his opponent, he first has his arms loop around himself once before sending his enlarged fist flying at his opponent. The wide loop gives his attack additional acceleration, thus increasing its momentum, while enlarging the fist adds more mass, the combination multiplying the force of this strike!

Kokonoe: Luffy has so much power and is only getting stronger. But he does have weaknesses.

Ann: Luffy isn't completely immune to blunt force trauma. Certain things like Sea Prism Stone, Haki, or Roushiki can bypass and nullify his rubber body. Knives and blades also have the potential of harming him. And he always had a difficult time with ice-based opponents.

Junko: He's not very good at sticking with the plan, though he is at least battle smart.

Kokonoe: Also, Luffy can't be in Gear Four for too long. If he overuses it, he will be forced back to base form and unable to use Armament Haki or even go back to Gear 4 for at least ten minutes.

Junko: But thanks to the Wano arc, that weakness has been diminished a bit and he can still use Observation and Conquers Haki.

Ann: With how powerful he is, it's no wonder he's got a bounty of $1,500,000,000! And maybe one day he truly will be... the Pirate King!

Luffy: Hero? No! We're Pirates! I love heroes, but I don't wanna be one! Do you know what heroes are? Say there is a chunk of meat. Pirates will have a banquet and eat it. But heroes will share it with other people. I want all the meat!

(Note 1: Luffy had a lot and I don't think I got everything. I also rushed on the ones that are simply stronger versions of other moves. But everything will be put in the battle)

(Note 2: I know Luffy is in the middle of round 3 or 4 against Kaido and is most likely gonna get a power-up (either a devil fruit awakening or Gear 5). If Luffy gets a power-up before the Death Battle (Which I doubt it will) then the battle will be postponed until I can include it in the fight)
