Grover's pov

I watch in horror as Percy and Annabeth made the deal with Kelli. What are you thinking! I wanted to scream but the rough hand of the Empousa blocked my voice. My eyes wandered to behind Percy, I stared in shock as I saw an Empousa creep up behind him.

A tried to warn him by screaming, my voice coming out as a mumble. All I could do was stand and watch as my best friend was hit in the head and knocked out. His body crumpled to the ground.

I struggled against my capture, all I got in return was a hard, stinging slap ending my attempts. The hat hiding my horns fell harmlessly to the floor. I looked to Annabeth, I could tell she wanted to desperately help him. She looked at me and saw my panicked and worried face. Annabeth looked away sadly a tear rolled down her face, I knew she had to respect the deal.

"Well that was fun!" Kelli giggled. I looked over to where she was standing. "Pick up the sea spawn and bring the girl." Kelli ordered. "what about the rest?" another growled.

I looked to Lucas. He was looking worriedly at the unconscious Sunday. Blood flowed from a gash on her head and her leg was bleeding, it must have been broken or cut from the exploding wall. He also looked confused by what Kelli was, what she was talking about and how she knew his parents.

"Leave them, a deal is a deal." She giggled again "maybe some monsters will find them, I said we wouldn't hurt them, but that doesn't mean anyone else can't." Her giggled turned to a laugh. And just like that they burst into flames and disappeared.

I roughly landed on my hoofs. To my left I heard a loud thud, I look around to see Lucas kneeling over Sunday. I moved towards him. And awkwardly put my hand on his shoulder. "Hey Lucas, are you ok?" as soon as I said it, I regretted it. Lucas looked up at me "WHAT DO YOU THINK? My...my parents were just taken a-and now my sister is...is". Lucas broke down crying.

I kneel down next to Lucas. "Lucas... I know you are c-confused but I can explain everything. But first we need to get everyone to safety before more like.. her come." Lucas whipped away his tears "o-ok" he said unsure. Quickly I stood up and found will's bag lying under some wall debris. I rummaged around until I found what I needed. I ran back to where Sunday was lying. "I have some medicine". Lucas nodded and moved over.

After giving Sunday some ambrosia, I rushed over to where Will and Nico were. They didn't seem majorly injured only a few small cuts here and there. I gave them both a swig of nectar and untied the ropes around their arms and legs. I look to where Lucas is still kneeling "so where is the safest part of the house? I mean surly Percy and Annabeth had a panic room or something." I mumbled the last part to myself.

Lucas looked to me "we have a room under the house, mum always said it was for emergencies. I've never been in their though.". "Ok let's go, quickly!" Lucas picked up Sunday delicately, and nearly dropped her when a growl sounded from behind us.

Slowly I turned. I stared directly into two blood red eyes. A Hell hound. Both Lucas and I can't fight a fully-grown hell hound and Will and Nico were in no state... suddenly a groan sounded from behind me. I think Nico is awake.

"Lucas, get over to Nico. Slowly" I whisper, staring right at the hell hound. It just stood their staring us down, Lucas being too scared didn't move. I need a plan think, think! Suddenly I had an idea. "Nico...NICO! Can you hear me?". Nico groaned "yeah" he whispered back. "are you feeling well enough to shadow travel?", "I guess..." Nico replied.

"Ok when I say go, Lucas I need you to run with Sunday to Nico and hold on. Nico hold Will and shadow travel us anywhere, preferably New York."

I slowly reached into my bag and pulled out one of my tin cans. 1,2,3 I count in my head and at 3 I threw the can right next to the monster. While it was distracted, I yelled "GO!". Lucas and I ran to Nico, and the world twisted as we sunk into the shadows.
