"This is gonna be crazy..." Peridot protested, although she wanted to start walking as well. Lapis didn't respond, but took her hand and hoisted her out the window. She closed the window and took off running. Peridot followed after, tripping multiple times. It wasn't very graceful, but they were able to run to the edges of the town, blocked by a steel wall about the height of Garnet, much too tall for Lapis or Peridot to climb.

"Peridot, it's alright. We'll get over somehow." "Well I hope so." Lapis sensed a puddle next to her, but didn't know why she was aware. She lifted her arm with the intention of lifting Peridot over the fence, but a wall of water rose from the pond instead. Peridot stared. "Woah..." Lapis froze momentarily, "Well, I guess. I. Have water powers? Perks of being dead I suppose." Peridot nodded but continued staring at the levitating water. Lapis sighed and pulled the water over to the two of them. "Jump up!"

"What?"

"JUMP! As high as you can!"

Peridot did so, and Lapis pushed the water under her, and thrust upwards. This propelled Peridot enough so she could grab the top of the wall. Unfortunately, she hadn't been completely able to stay afloat in the water, so now she was gasping for air. Nevertheless, Peri reached down to Lapis, pulling her up and over the wall. They stood on the top now, looking over the small town. That they were leaving... Lapis almost pushed Peridot off the wall to continue travelling before realizing that it dropped off into a black void. There was no land in sight. With no where else to go, Lapis picked up Peridot and leaped off the wall into the void.

"AAAHHH!!!! What are you doing?!?!?" Peridot screamed as they plummeted into darkness. Lapis responded coolly,

"Why not? I mean, it's not like the landing could kill us or anything..." Peridot tried to give her a look, but it was too dark.

"I mean.... Hey. That's true. But what if there IS NO LANDING!?!?! What if we just fall forever?" Lapis's arms loosened around Peridot. "We'll be..." Peridot almost cried. "We'll be alone forever!" Lapis let go of Peridot and she drifted away a bit.

"We'll be alone together."

The ground rushed toward them at the speed of light and they both slammed into it--hard. Peridot landed head first. "Ow..." Lapis fell flat on her back and tentatively touched the scrapes and cuts the rocky ground had left there. No blood. In fact, the cuts closed up at she touched them, and before long, they were gone entirely. She glanced over at Peridot, who was holding her forehead tightly, but all her other cuts were closing up and disappearing. Eyes wide, she took her hand away from her forehead, revealing that the deep gash that had been there a moment was completely gone.

The two of them stood and began walking through the mound of rock. A thin, broken-looking figure hobbled out from behind one of the rocks. "You two... human?" The figure struggled, voice cracking on every syllable. Peridot stood frozen with confusion and Lapis with fear as they gazed upon the fallen human.
