I opened my eyes. My head ached terribly, but I  looked around and realized I  was still in 3rd period language.
"Ah, there you are. And since you've been sleeping in class, you can see me after class. Now tell me, what's the homework tonight?" Mr. Jefferson nodded at me.
The class laughed hysterically as I paused to remember what he had said, but I couldn't hear anything through whatever I was dreaming about.
"Uh, write the vocabulary 3x each and bring in lined paper for the project on Friday?" I asked.
"Well, look at that! She actually was listening! Now, as I was saying beforehand, you will need to write a report about a celebrity and make a poster board about them as well, so bring in lined paper tomorrow so we can start it."

I let out a sigh and put my head on my hand as I waited patiently for the last, boring 2 minutes of class to end and for that glorious lunch bell to ring.

RRRRING!!!
There it was.
"Dismissed!" Mr. Jefferson called as the class eagerly got up and stampeded to the lunchroom.

I grabbed my lunch box and met Cody in the hallway, where we usually wait for each other.
"Dude, I heard you fell asleep in Jefferson's." He snickered.
"Where'd you hear that?!" I asked, shocked.
"Marisa told everyone the second the bell rung." He stated.
I sighed. "Did she really?"
"Yep. Shouted it out to the whole 7th grade hallway just before you got out."

I grimaced as the two of us walked to the lunch room. That Marisa was always looking for a way to humiliate me- and I never knew why.
Cody was saying something about a new video game he bought, but I was more interested in my thoughts.
"And I was hoping you- Hey, are you even listening to me?"
I blinked.
"Huh? Oh, yeah."

Cody frowned.
"Dude, are you alright? You seem really out of it today." He asked concernedly.
"Yeah! I'm fine, just daydreaming, that's all." I said distractedly.
"No. Your not alright, I can tell."

Cody's the kind of friend who knows when something's up, even when you try your best not to show it. He can always tell when something's on your mind.

"Well, I have a terrible headache, for starters. My mom is going on a business trip tomorrow, so that leaves me home alone for a week. Obviously I don't know what to do and I'm stressing out over it." I confessed.

Cody sighed.
"I thought it was something more." He said as we sat down at our usual table.
I frowned.

"Your so helpful." I said sarcastically.
"Well, maybe this will make your day." He said.
Then he took me by the hand and dragged me out of the room.
