Everyone looked at the pile of bricks that once had been a chunk of the ceiling above their heads. Somewhere underneath the pile was the Viper. "You know, there could be a chance that he's still alive under all of that," Duke tried to reassure Tattoo and the Flushed Pets, who seemed more horrified than him and Max.

Just then, the top of the brick pile burst into flame. The Flushed Pets gasped in horror. "Never mind..." Duke mumbled, slowly stepping away from Tattoo.

"No! You were too young Viper!" Snowball cried from where he was still in the water on a floating piece of wood. Max and Duke watched as he and the Flushed Pets except for Ripper began weeping. The boxer didn't show any emotion.

"Technically, you might have deserved this Viper since you bit quite a few people so this is probably something WAY overdue..." Snowball rambled mournfully, tears streaming down his face. Max and Duke took this moment to try to sneak away. But then the rabbit began shouting, "You two squished the sacred Viper into a flapjack!"

"He was sacred?!" Max and Duke exclaimed at the same time. They glanced at each other nervously. Glowering at the two canines, Snowball screamed at the top of his lungs, "GET THEM NOW!"

"RUN!" Duke shouted. Looking over, he saw Max was already taking off. The giant mutt rushed to follow his brother as the Flushed Pets raced after them. Running down a long drainage pipe, the dogs glanced over their shoulders to find themselves still being chased.

Suddenly, the ground underneath their paws gave out as they reached the end of the drainage pipe and they plummeted towards the sewer water below...
