Toomi: As the late 19th century philosopher William James once said: "We are spinning our own fates, good or evil, never to be undone". Which suits both of these evil bastards, who while have committed some truly awful stuff, still majorly influence those around them to follow them no matter what.

Megumi: Which these two will do anything to reach their goal becoming all-powerful, even sacrificing their followers without a second thought. She's Sachi, Toomi and I'm Megumi.

Sachi: And it is our job to analyse their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle

Toomi: Ambition, a dream that is turned into a strong desire to achieve something in your life, mostly when it comes to power.

Megumi: But that ambition is all that it takes to drive someone over the edge

Sachi: Such is the case with the former leader of the Band of the Hawk, Griffith. Who might have started off strong, but as time went on, everything would end up going downhill.

Megumi: Born as a child of humble-birth he already had his ambition set sight on ruling a kingdom of his own, as he ended up receiving a crimson behelit.

Toomi: With the help of a miner named Pippin, a former bandit named Corkus, a tumbler named Judeau and a 12-year old named Casca, the latter of which Griffith saved from her would-be rapists, he formed the Band of the Hawk.

Sachi: Two years after the formation of the group, Griffith encountered the Black Swordsman himself, Guts, and managed to defeat him twice in order to win over his servitude.

Griffith: You belong to me.

Megumi: Where they would later prove victorious in a battle against the Black Sheep Iron Spears Heavy Knights of Tudor... What the fuck? Is that what medieval people called their clans?

Toomi: During one siege, the duo of Guts and Griffith would then encounter the demon known as Nosferatu Zodd the Immortal, who noticed the crimson behelit that Griffith wore, and warned Guts of the significance in his doom. Everything would go downhill from there.

Sachi: The brother to the King of Midland, Julius had hired an assassin to kill Griffith, but it ultimately failed. In retaliation, like any sane person would Griffith ordered Guts to kill Julius and any of the witnesses, which included Julius's son Adonis.

Toomi: This caused Guts to leave the Band of the Hawk after a rift formed between the two, which caused Griffith to go into a downward spiral which all led up to his imprisonment in the Tower of Rebirth, with his behelit getting thrown into a drain that leaded to a river.

Megumi: All because he was caught sleeping with Charlotte, the queen of Midland. No comment there, I got nothing.

Toomi: One whole year later, by the time that Guts and the Band of the Hawk came to his rescue, Griffith had been rendered completely mute and crippled from being tortured for one year straight. Griffith had tried to end his life due to his ruined state no longer allowing him to fulfill his dream. That was, until...

Megumi: Deus ex Machina.

Toomi: Well, from a certain point of view. The behelit ended up activated after a drop of Griffith's blood, where all of the members in the Band of the Hawk, which included Guts and Griffith, were transported to the Interstice. The plane in between the physical realm and the astral realm.

Megumi: They were greeted by the God Head, as Apostles ended up gathering around him, where Griffith would be given a chance to become the leader he always wanted to be, at the cost of sacrificing the Band of the Hawk. This was where Griffith's true character emerged, as he said yes to the deal. So long story short...

Megumi: And all that was left after the massacre was Guts and an unconscious Casca, the latter of which Griffith, well, y'know.

Toomi: This was where Griffith became part of the God Hand, now being known as, Femto. Now becoming the fifth member of the God Hand.

Sachi: And after Skull Knight saved Casca and Guts, Femto spends his time trying to achieve his dream by creating a new band of hawks and to one day become king of his own kingdom.

Toomi: As Griffith, he possesses incredible skills with a sword, able to hold his own and defeat swordsmen like Guts in a duel though that is far from his best attribute.

Megumi: Griffith's greatest strengths are his uncanny charisma to induce submission in others just by being around them. I mean just look at him, those pretty eyes, his thick puckered lips, his long wavy hair. Hell, I would follow him to the ends of the Earth!

Sachi: Which is what he makes sure his followers do Megumi.

Toomi: Femto has even done some impressive things, once fill every single person's dreams with visions of him. Which considering that Berserk took place in the Medievial times, the European population was around 61 million which means Femto has a planetary level feat of filling an entire world population at that time with visions of himself to play them into seeing him as a God.

Megumi: And speaking of planetary, Femto has even brought the World Tree, which connects the Earth, heaven and the underworld together. I mean he may have lost his friends and humanity but he hasn't lost his charisma, which with it, he was able to amass a gigantic army of Apostles and humans to work towards his dream of establishing his own kingdom.

Sachi: Which he was totally able to do! By having the enigmatic Skull Knight strike down a weird Cthulhu man with a special sword, it created a gleaming white city known as Falconia for him to rule over the changed world. All without using an election.

Feats

As a military genius, he played a role in winning Midland's One Hundred Year war with Tudor and was the leader of the Midland Regular army during the Holy Demon War against Ganishka and his Kushan invasion force.

Singlehandedly defeated Guts twice in their initial meeting while he was still human.

Toomi: And whilst that may have been his greatest victory, it certainly wasn't the only one. He's defeated an army of giants, avoided waves of projectiles such as arrows and cannon balls, and, thanks to his transformation into Femto, is now capable of taking Guts' head on.

Megumi: Oh yeah, that reminds me, Guts was able to survive the Eclipse, and is now dedicated to killing Griffith as painfully as possible. And note that Guts was capable of dodging a lightning bolt that went from the sky to the ground. The return stroke of a lightning bolt can move at 220 million miles per hour, and by scaling him to Guts, that means Griffith could reach similar speeds to him.

Toomi: But whilst Griffith is certainly powerful, he's far from invincible. Especially now that he's taken on physical form, meaning he is now susceptible to conventional means of damage.

Sachi: Furthermore, his causality and fate manipulation powers are unlikely to be useful in a spontaneous way, and are more akin to manipulation individuals across large periods of time.

Megumi: And let's not forget he made an enemy out of Guts. And you do not want to make an enemy out of Guts

Weakness

Made an enemy out of Guts.

Can be harmed by magically-endowed weapons that can effect spiritual beings.

Toomi: But Griffith's biggest weakness is that he doesn't really do much. Aside from trying to gain followers, push back Guts and crush a few Apostles, Griffith spent his time not really doing much

Megumi: But as long as his dream in within his grasp, Griffith with not rest to achieve it, either as a man, or a monster.

In my mind a true friend never relies on another's dream. The man, who would be my friend, must have his own reason for living, beyond me. Toomi: Imagine, if you can, someone so wicked that the sheer magnitude of their unholy dickishness literally destroyed the universe.

Megumi: You might think they'd have to be no less than the devil himself. But it was him, Dio.

Toomi: Born to an abusive alcholic grave robber Dario Brando, Dio grew up poor in the slums, constantly abused by his father until he poisoned him to death.

Sachi: But after being mistaken for saving George Joestar, this act was owed to the Brandos to which Dio was then adopted into the Joestar family.

Megumi: Thus starting a feud with the Joestar family that would last for an entire 120 years. But Dio had to bide his time accordingly, so in order to do that, he put young Johnathan Joestar through intense torture throughout his early teenage years, making sure to weaken his spirit and kill him.

Toomi: This involved beating him up, stealing his girlfriend Erina's first kiss, killing his pet dog Danny and even turning all of his friends against him.

Megumi: But luckily he didn't get away with it, Jonathan straight up beat the living crap out of him though the fight ends up introducing Dio to the Stone Mask which we will come to it later.

Sachi: Dio would make up with Jonathan and become close friends until George Joestar was then poisoned to death. With Jonathan doing research on Dario, realising the similarities in their cases to which he found out Dio killed him.

Toomi: Dio ran away, drunk and disgraced. However, a stone mask that reacted to blood had a unique attraction to Dio, so he took it with him. Encountering some drunk homeless people, Dio tested it on one of them, and realized that he could become a vampire.

Megumi: So when Jonathan, the police and Robert E.O. Speedwagon arrived at the Joestar Estate to confront Dio, Dio used the mask on himself, becoming what we know today as DIO.

Dio: I REJECT MY HUMANITY, JOJO!!!

Megumi: So a stone mask that turns you into a vampire? That's just bizzare?

Toomi: Okay, so he's not technically a vampire like, say, Dracula. Instead of turning you into an unholy demon, the Stone Mask eliminates your body's natural limitations.

Megumi: Making him way stronger, faster, and tougher than any human. He can hear a heartbeat through the ground, fly through the air, and hypnotize you with just a glance.

Sachi: It gets weirder. Dio can create mind-controlling flesh buds from his hair follicles, vaporize the moisture in his body to freeze anything he touches, and fire beams of pressurized fluids that can split the sky.

Megumi: Even more insane is Dio's healing factor. He's been burnt alive, impaled through the head, bisected, decapitated, lost limbs, filled with bullets, and had a huge hole punched in his chest not once, not twice, but three times.

His ultimate goal was to create a world where everyone knew their own fate and could make peace with the inevitable tragedies life had in store. In Dio's mind, heaven.

Dio: ZA WARUDO!!!

Toomi: The World is a stand, a physical embodiment of a user's fighting spirit. Since they're made of psychic energy, Stands can only be seen by Stand users, and can only be hurt by other Stands. Quite the obstacle for any opponent lacking similar abilities.

Megumi: Yeah, Johnny Cage can vouch for that.

Sachi: The World is absurdly strong and fast, able to match the Stand Star Platinum, which belongs to Jonathan's great-great-grandson, Jotaro Kujo. He technically inherited it from Dio through Jonathan's body and bloodline, making Star Platinum and The World the same Stand.

Megumi: And both are two of the strongest Stands out there. Just as strong as Stone Free, which can punch meteors that were pulled to Earth in seconds.

Toomi: By measuring the distance the meteors are from Earth, we can estimate they were moving at over 11 million meters per second. Factoring in their mass, they'd each have a kinetic energy of 441 kilotons of TNT.

Megumi: Not that crazy when you can throw punches that are faster than light. No really, Star Platinum kept up with this Stand, Silver Chariot, which could cut a beam of light.

Sachi: Looking at the interval Silver Chariot's sword swung relative to the light beam, it must've moved over fifteen hundred times the speed of light, and Dio himself has matched Star Platinum on his own, and taken his punches head-on.

Toomi: But The World does more than punch hard, in fact, it's powerful enough to stop time. For Jotaro, this lasts for 5 seconds, yet for DIO it lasts for double that.

Megumi: And get this, Dio has no limits to how often he can use it, in fact, he can use it as many times as he wants cause he's just this much of a troll. And Dio himself, can easily react to other Stands himself, without The World. DIO can literally react to attacks of over 2 billion miles per hour.

Broke a steel spear in half with one hand.

Has been stated that he became several times stronger after this.

Caught Dire's attack, Dire is able to move so fast that he created after images (At least 200 mph).

Dio's speed has been compared to a cheetah in the series (A cheetah's top speed is 75 mph).

Can react to Jonathan who can move faster the Tarkus who is faster than the eye can track.

Survived being bisected and decapitated while falling down a steep and tall cliff.

Survived a massive ship explosion when he was only a head.

Can lift over his head, drop and punch a steamroller with ease.

Can deflect Kakyoin's Emerald Splash with his bare hands

His stand can stop time for more nine seconds with a universal range (The stronger he gets and the more he fights the time stop's length increases) being able to stop a new universe being created (A speculation taken from Jotaro stopping time from preventing the universe being reborn into DIO's ideal World in Stone Ocean).

His stand is slightly faster and stronger than Jotaro's Star Platinum's Faster-Than-Light speed and diamond-breaking punch making his stand easily around Faster-Than-Light.

Discovered the existence of Made in Heaven so that Pucci could manifest it.

It appears he can react at Faster-Than-Light speeds himself without the use of his Stand.

Took a barrage of Star Platinum's punches (One even straight to the skull) and survived feeling nauseous and only strong enough to crawl around.

Can handle several Hamon users at a time and even prevent Hamon from touching him being able to freeze a Hamon user's bloodstream to prevent them from using it.

Technically killed Part 1 protagonist Jonathan Joestar and Part 2 protagonist Joseph Joestar in Part 3.

Killed: Noriaki Kakyoin (In approx. less than 2 minutes), Dire In about five seconds or so by freezing him and breaking him apart), nearly killed Hamon Master Will A. Zeppeli with one move.

Toomi: Dio has defeated Jonathan and Joseph Joestar, matched Jotaro Kujo in speed and power, only losing through a strategic oversight and even matched Stands in strength. Even Part 1 Dio is that strong. Plus, through his regeneration, he can attach limbs back to his body as good as new, and is nearly unkillable.

Megumi: Yeah, yeah, but that's nothin' compared to Dio's secret weapon, the greatest weapon in anime history.

Megumi: Well if you look at that, Dio can make donuts and pancakes as well.

Toomi: But as powerful as he is, Dio has one small oversight. The sun. Should someone durable enough battle him all night long, Dio will die from sun light, or anything equivalent to a UV ray.

Sachi: And he is extremely cocky and arrogant, preferring to humiliate an opponent instead of finishing them off

Megumi: Too bad he wasn't prepared for Jotaro to learn how to stop time too, and murder the shit out of him. That's some hardcore karma right there. But it only makes sense that a dog murderer would die like a bitch.

Weakness

Extremely arrogant & cocky, he prefers to humiliate an opponent and feel superior rather than simply finish them off quickly and efficiently.

Though a majority of his plans involve making the Joestar line suffer, Dio underestimated them and actually assured his own defeat by them. The best example would be his rivalry with Jonathan Joestar, having been defeated by him three times despite learning from their first bout how powerful Jonathan can get if pushed enough.

Despite knowing how dangerous Jotaro was, he still toyed with him, even after Star Platinum unlocked its time stop ability.

Dio has said that his occasional outburst of anger is one of his biggest weakness, making him act irrationally and more often than not ruining his plans.

All damage dealt to The World transfers to Dio.

Weak to Sunlight and Hamon based attacks which can disintegrate him in seconds.

Toomi: But Dio's biggest weakness is his hatred for the Joestar bloodline, despite taking the time to humiliate and hurt the Joestar family, Dio underestimates them which always results in his defeat. The best example is his rivalry with Jonathan Joestar to whom he has lost to him three times despite knowing how powerful the latter would get when enraged

Sachi: And another thing about Stands is that every damage the Stands take, the Stand users will feel it as well.

Megumi: But his greatest follower succeeded in extinguishing the Joestar bloodline and literally remaking the universe in Dio's image, creating that heaven he always dreamed of, So I guess if you're named after a rock star, a movie star, and uh, oh that's right, God, you're pretty much bound for greatness.

Standing alone in the grass field, Griffith silently broods before sensing something.

As he notices a car driving across the field, he pulls out a crossbow before opening fire at it.

TWIP!!!

The arrow zips across the air before striking the window, causing the car to crash onto a rock.

CRASH!!!

Griffith mounts on his horse before approaching the vehicle, closing in as he demands.

Griffith: Whoever you are, come out now!

The car door swings open as Dio steps out, tossing the dead corpse of a woman whom he has been feeding aside before declaring out.

Dio: Oh? A mere mortal challenges me?

Griffith then dismounts his horse, drawing his sword as he declares out to Dio.

Griffith: Stand down. Your act of defiance will only lead to your downfall.

Dio: Very well, let me have a taste of your blood!

Announcer: Fight!

Griffith prompts his horse forward, pointing his sword as Dio lunges forward, his Stand The World appearing before striking right into the horse, throwing Griffith upwards.

BAM!!!

Horse: NEIGHHHHH!!!

Griffith spins around in the air as his horse falls flat on the ground, turning around as he swings his sword at Dio who The World basically shields him from blow to blow before Dio himself throws a punch, striking Griffith in his face.

WHAM!!!

Dio lunges forward, prompting Griffith to raise his sword up as he shields himself from several blows from the vampire.

WHAM!!! BAM!!! POW!!!

As Dio swings his arm out, Griffith ducks underneath and swings his sword across, managing to cut the vampire.

SLASH!!!

However, that attack did little to slow Dio down as the latter summons The World who proceeds to attack Griffith with a barrage of punches.

Dio: MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA! MUDA!!!

BAM!!!

A single blow strikes onto Griffith as the knight is sent flying.

Engrossed in his fight, Dio fails to notice an eclipse happening, which in turn, opens up an abyss in the middle of the Earth.

RUMBLE!!!

Dio: Huh?

Dio stops as he notices the large hole opening, watching as Griffith tumbles down into the abyss, prompting Dio to follow hot in pursuit.

Down the red cavernous abyss, Griffith falls from the top before plunging into the lake of blood.

SPLASH!!!

Right at that moment, Dio lands feet first onto the ground, spreading his arms out as he declares out.

Dio: How so very weak. You thought you were victorious, but it was I...

But what Dio saw shocked him to the point he finished his catchphrase with a

Dio:...Dio?

Dio watches in shock as a large figure rose from the blood, the young beautiful man with long white hair that he fought earlier has now became a horrifying humanoid covered in armor and a long cape that resembles wings.

Griffith has became Femto!

Femto the points his finger at Dio, summoning various mostrous apostles to charge forward.

Dio looks around as various apostles from all around, ranging from different shapes and sizes closes in, hungry for his flesh and blood.

However, despite being heavily outnumbered, both Dio and The World began fighting back against the horde of monsters, ripping through the apostles through punch after punch.

BAM!!! WHAM!!! POW!!! THOOM!!!

Dio grabs onto an apostle before slamming it headfirst into the ground.

BAM!!!

He then throws the demon towards his Stand who then proceeds to throw a punch, sending it's fist plunging through the demon's skull.

SPULCH!!!

Dio then leaps up, swinging his arms outwards as he tore through two earwig like apostles before stomping onto another one.

SPLUCH!!!

As Dio throws a punch towards a large beast, the creature's armored head protects it from Dio's blow before it bites down onto the vampire's arm.

CHOMP!!!

Dio: ARGHHHHHH!!!

As if on cue, several smaller goblin like demons lunges forward, biting down onto Dio in an attempt to eat him.

CHOMP!!! MUNCH!!! SQURCH!!!

However, that alone wouldn't kill Dio.

The World then reappears, killing the monsters with a combination of blows.

WHAM!!! BAM!!! POW!!!

Dio then grins as The World began throwing a barrage of punches onto the armored monster.

BAM!!! BAM!!! BAM!!! BAM!!! BAM!!!

The monster retracts it's jaw and retreats, leaving Dio panting as blood drips from his wounds.

Right at that moment, Femto lunges forward, slamming into Dio.

BAM!!!

Femto then throws Dio onto a wall, sending him flying upwards before he uses his gravity manipulation, holding Dio up before slamming him repeatly against the floor.

BAM!!! BAM!!! BAM!!!

Femto then rips the spear of a bloodied corpse before plunging it into Dio.

SHOK!!!

Despite blood spilling from his wounds, Dio chuckles lightly as he asks.

Dio: Heh heh heh. Is that the best you can do?

Femto: Hm?

Before Femto even knows what happens, The World throws a downward punch, striking into him.

BAM!!!

As Femto is sent flying, Dio lunges forward, prompting Femto to raise his hand up, pulling Dio upwards.

Big mistake.

At that moment, Dio pulls out a Road Roller out of nowhere, sending it crashing down onto Femto.

Dio: ROAD ROLLER DA!!!

CRASH!!!

Femto: Ngn!

Femto grits his teeth as Dio began punching the road roller, screaming out.

Dio: MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA! MUDA!!!

Dio then jumps away as the road roller began going off in a massive explosion.

KABOOM!!!

Dio jumps back, grinning as the flames dies down, revealing a charred and angry Femto rising from the flames.

Dio then throws multiple knives right at Femto who uses his gravitational manipulation to redirect them back towards Dio.

Dio: Huh?

Dio quickly moves his body around, dodging the knives before closing in, only for Femto to push him back with a "force push"

WHOOM!!!

Dio was sent flying back as Femto began creating a small black hole around the vampire, attempting to crush Dio within his grasp.

Dio: Ngn!

Dio grits his teeth, grunting out as he felt the strong gravitational energy begin crushing him like a drink can in a vice.

Femto: How does it feel? To taste the crushing taste of defeat!

Femto gloats as he sadistically attempts to crush Dio.

Until...

SHING!!!

Dio's eyes began glowing brightly as he lets out a loud scream, unleashing a powerful eye laser from his eyes.

Dio: HUARGHHHHH!!!

THOOM!!!

A single blast broke Dio free from Femto's grip, causing the area to go off in a massive explosion in the process.

BOOM!!!

Up in the air, Femto flies out of the abyss into the air, looking down as Dio lunges upwards, closing in onto him.

WHOOSH!!!

Femto then thrusts his hand out, pushing Dio back before drawing a sword, preparing to strike Dio down.

However, at that moment, Dio screams out.

Dio: ZA WARUDO!!!

WHOOM!!! SHOOK!!!

Time freezes around Dio as the vampire sneers, moving past Femto.

Time then continues as Dio throws several knives, to which Femto dodges.

However, that attack was a distraction as Femto felt a hard punch square across his cheek

WHAM!!!

Recoiling back, Femto looks back as Dio sneers, saying to him.

Dio: How very futile. MUDA!!!

The World then punches right through Femto's chest, destroying his heart right there.

SPLURCH!!!

Coughing out blood, Femto stumbles as The World prepares to attack Femto.

Femto widens his eyes as The World began punching him in a massive barrage of punches, mercilessly beating the living soul out of Femto.

Dio: MUDA!!! MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA!!!

BAM!!! BAM!!! BAM!!! BAM!!! BAM!!! BAM!!!! BAM!!! BAM!!! BAM!!! BAM!!! BAM!!!

The World then throws one powerful punch right through Femto's torso, causing his entire body to go off in a bloody explosion.

POW!!! SPLURCH!!!

Dio then lands on the ground, screaming out in triumph as blood of the apostle rains all over him.

Dio: WRYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

Megumi: Jesus, looks like Dio really saved Guts the trouble. probably the only good thing Dio has done for anyone.

Toomi: Physically, Griffith is a normal human who don't possess any powers so it's no surprise he gets dominated by Dio's superior speed, strength, skills

Sachi: Though Griffith has beaten Guts and taken a beating from Nosferatu Zodd, those are nothing compared to Dio who has a similar level strength and is much faster, with Griffith having no speed feats of any kind. At least as a human

Megumi: But once Femto is brought into the works, that's where things gets interesting.

Toomi: Having the ability to manipulate gravity and existing in an astral plane, Dio would have a much harder time attacking Femto at a close distance as Femto can always push him back before sending hordes of Apostles to finish him off.

Sachi: And his ability to create a small black hole to crush Dio would certainly have finished Dio off if it wasn't for his eye beams

Toomi: Estimating the size of the clouds and the speed at which they moved, Dio's beams must have output an energy of over 10 megatons of TNT, which is far more powerful than what Griffith has dished out.

Megumi: And despite his ability to create small black holes, those don't really do much aside from crushing Apostles so there is not really any way for them to be similar to a real life black hole. Though what about Femto's reality warping? Wouldn't he have used that to just erase Dio from existence?

Sachi: Here's the thing, though Femto's ability to warp reality has enabled him to act as a God to the people and even dodge attacks from arrows, those don't physically hurt anybody, especially when you need to know that Femto's goal is to influence people to follow him, not destroy anyone or anything.

Toomi: And his ability to bring the World Tree which connects Heaven, Underworld and Earth though can be debated to be universal, it literally doesn't do anything. Especially with Dio's insane healing factor and superior strength, those at most could potentially just end the fight with a stalemate.

Megumi: Looking at the bright side, if we were using Heaven Ascension Dio, who has erased every Funny Valentine through the multiverse, Femto's feat of bringing in the World Tree would be all but naught.

Sachi: And Femto's existence in an astral plane which makes him impenetrable to a physical blade means that Dio physically cannot hurt Femto but that is a different story with The World, a Stand that does exist in an astral plane so theoretically, The World is all is needed to just straight up end Femto right on the spot, especially when Femto could not see Stands due to not being a Stand user himself.

Megumi: So he clearly has no defense against The World, including it's time stopping ability.

Toomi: Griffith's gravitational manipulation, astral plane existence and his

Megumi: Looks like this is the worst Dio(deal) for Griffith in The World.

Sachi: The winner is Dio...

* The connections between Griffith and Dio Brando is that both combatants are famously evil antagonists who are known for doing some of the most evil things in the genre, having slaughtered many with little to no remorse. The two also gained their powers by obtaining an ancient artifact which turned them into monsters while sacrificing people who cared for them, Griffith who became Femto after sacrificing the Band of Hawks and Dio became a vampire after killing George Joestar and the artifacts were created by god-like beings who look down on human beings, The Behelit was created by The God Hand while the Stone Mask was created by the Pillar Men

* The two were also born from poverty and raised in the streets which causes the two to dream of moving up the social ranking to become more powerful

* Both combatants are rather attractive men who uses their charm and beauty to convince hundreds of people to join them though Dio does it with a more sinister manner with the two having a rather evil heart despite their beautiful appearance.

* Both Griffith and Dio has also sexually assaulted the love interest of their enemies with Griffith raping Casca in front of Guts while Dio forcefully kissed Erina with such acts ends up causing both Guts and Jonathan Joestar to harbour deep hatred for them

* Both combatants even disappeared from the face of the Earth before they returned to the world by taking the bodies of a family member of the protagonist with Griffith returning to the world using the Moon Child's body as a physical form, The Moon Child being Guts' child while Dio took the body of Jonathan Joestar from the neck down

* Ironically, despite being constantly beaten by their enemies, both Griffith and Dio harboured respect for their rivals with Griffith who used to be Guts best friend and Dio who grew respect for Jonathan.
