Chapter 23: Someone

Taehyung and Jungkook went to the restaurant. Jungkook pulled out the chair for Taehyung. The older sat down on the chair in front of Jungkook.

"Tell me now." Taehyung started with a sigh.

"How are you, hyung?" Jungkook inquired looking through Taehyung's eyes.

"I'm doing fine, how bout you?" Taehyung retorted.

"I'm glad to know about that, hyung. And I'm fine too." Jungkook responded.

"That's good to hear." Taehyung simply smiled.

An awkward silence filled them for a while not until Jungkook broke it.

"Hyung" Jungkook uttered.

"Yes?" Taehyung responded.

"I-I'm sorry for leaving you." Jungkook muttered.

"Why are you sorry for that?" Taehyung asked confused.

"I should've stayed with you, I shouldn't have left you." Jungkook replied.

"You don't have to say sorry, besides, I understand and respect your decision. I know in the end you will still choose your family, they are more important than me." Taehyung said with a hint of sadness in his tone.

"No, hyung, that's not it. You know I treasure you a lot more than them." Jungkook retorted.

"But you choose them." Taehyung mumbled.

"Because I have to do that. I... I can't tell you the reason yet." Jungkook sighed.

"Maybe it's better if we move on and act as if we don't know each other." Taehyung suddenly said which made Jungkook taken aback.

"Hyung" Jungkook uttered with a startled face.

"You're successful now, Jungkook. I can't be with you, I might ruin your career. There are a lot of people who can recognize me as a criminal that can ruin your image and life." Taehyung explained.

"I don't care about them, hyung! I can do anything but not forget you." Jungkook insisted.

Taehyung held Jungkook's fisted hand on the table with his two hands.

"You have your own path now, Jungkook. You should live as your own. I'm nothing with you, we're different now. I have my own life and you have your own too. I don't want in the end both of us will suffer. Besides, I heard you're getting married now, you should think about your future family. You don't have to worry about me, I can take care of myself." Taehyung stated.

"But hyun--"

Jungkook was about to explain something but Taehyung's phone rang.

"Wait, I need to answer this call. It's Jin hyung, it's important. Excuse me." Taehyung said as he stood up answering his phone.

He went out of the restaurant to hear Jin's voice clearly.

"Hyung." Taehyung started.

"Taehyung, where are you? Some of the customers were complaining about their orders taking too long to deliver. What are you doing right now?" Jin retorted inquiring.

"I'm sorry, hyung, something happened. Don't worry hyung, I'll deliver their orders in hurry. I'm sorry." Taehyung said slapping his forehead.

"Fine, I'll tell them to wait." Jin sighed.

"Thank you, hyung." Taehyung said and turn off the calls.

He came back inside the restaurant.

"I'm sorry, Jungkook, I really need to go. We can talk another day, bye." Taehyung excused himself.

"But hyung--"

"By the way, happy married life to you." Taehyung smiled and walked away.

Taehyung ran back to the company, got inside the car and he sighed. He hopes he can move on. He shook his head and started to drive.

Taehyung arrived a few meters from the house of his customer. He parked his car on the parallel line. He got out, opened the trunk of his car, and carried the box. He closed the trunk of his car and walk. But when he got his few steps, rain starts pouting out.

He curses under his breath since he doesn't want the order to get wet.

"Why now?" Taehyung muttered.

Suddenly, he felt someone standing beside him. He looked up and his guess was wrong since it wasn't Jungkook but Bogum who was holding an umbrella for him.

"Hyung, you're here." Taehyung uttered shocked.

"I'm surprised to see you here, I didn't expect to meet you here." Bogum smiled.

"I'm here to deliver, how about you?" Taehyung asked.

"I live here, do you want me to help you? Tell me the address and I'll lead you there." Bogum offered.

"Block B, no. 47." Taehyung responded.

"That's my house, I forgot I ordered dalgona. Do you want to come with me or wait here instead? I'll take money to pay you." Bogum stated.

"It's okay, hyung, I'll come with you." Taehyung smiled.

"Are you sure? You can stay in your car, I'll be back. You might get wet before we can even reach my house, my umbrella was small." Bogum uttered.

"Don't mind me, hyung, it's alright. Besides, I'm not a kid anymore." Taehyung giggled.

"Fine, let's go now." Bogum said and Taehyung followed him.

Meanwhile, when Taehyung left, he didn't notice that Jungkook followed him. Jungkook was standing not far from them, he was an umbrella but he was too late. He was watching them while soaking in the rain, his heart was clenching and tears were threatening to fall.

"Sir, it's raining, let's get inside the van. Ms. Sue was also waiting for you. You might get sick, you're wet." The driver said while protecting Jungkook from the rain.

"Let's go." Jungkook uttered turning around to get inside the van.

He sat down on the passenger with his heart burning in jealousy. He doesn't like seeing his hyung being with someone. He hates it, he hates that he wasn't the one beside his hyung.

His hands balled in a fist on his fist.

"Sir, here's the towel." The driver said and handed the towel to him.

Jungkook grabbed it, drying his hair.

"By the way, Ms. Sue told me she's worried about you. She's in your house, sir. Are we going there?" The driver asked.

"Yes, please." Jungkook replied sighing.

"Do you want to buy flowers for her, sir? I'm sure she's freaking out, you need to bring something to her to calm her down." The driver uttered.

"Okay." Jungkook responded.

The driver started to drive while Jungkook was quietly watching the rain.
