Skeeter didn't know why she still kept buying chips from the hospital's vending machines. They tasted like brick wall━not that she would know what a brick wall actually tasted like. 

"Hey, Skeeter." 

Her head whipped to the sound of her name. Skeeter furrowed her brows in confusion once her eyes landed on his tall figure. "Keanu?" She queried once he was standing right in front of her, "Visiting hours are over. You know that, right? And, don't worry about Chris. He's got Bambi right by his side."

"I know. I actually came to see you." 

That statement had actually made her smile and had failed to hide it as she stuttered out, "O──oh. Well, hi."

"Hello." His lips curled into a smile, "I brought food." 

Skeeter's eyes shifted to the his hands where two bags of McDonald's were. The smell of burgers and fries reached her senses and it made her stomach grumble. Yet:

"That's fine. You really didn't──"

"You sure potato chips are a good option for dinner, Skeeter?"

Sighing in defeat and at Keanu's pointed look, Skeeter heads to the cafeteria while he wordlessly follows. Fortunately, the cafeteria was mostly deserted. There was an old couple occupying a table and a janitor mopping. 

As they sat down and started to eat, Keanu noticed that she sat like a boy with an ankle propped on top of her left knee and ate her food like she hadn't eaten for hours (which was probably true). 

"Wow. You eat like a baby dinosaur." He humored and proceeded to impersonate the sound she was making, "Chomp, chomp, chomp."

Skeeter could only roll her eyes at him because her mouth was preoccupied with delicious food. They continued to eat in a comfortable silence with the soft crackle of an acoustic cover of Here Comes the Sun in the background. 

"When you bring me McDonald's or any kind of food, you're bound to meet Skeetersaurus." She replied once she had finished. Under the table, Skeeter nudged his foot softly. "Hey, thank you for dinner."

Keanu shrugged. "I just had this inkling that doctors don't keep themselves healthy."

"Oh, really?" Skeeter quirked an eyebrow, amused. "What makes you say that?"

"Well, you text me at two in the morning which means you're not getting that much of sleep. You have five cups of coffee almost every day."

"Which I'm not ashamed of, by the way."

"And, I just caught you having chips for dinner."

"Which did not push through because my handsome knight in shining armor arrived with food."

It was Keanu's turn to roll his eyes. Skeeter was joking──of course──and used the fact that he would blush and squirm once he received compliments to her advantage. But, once his eyes settled on the smile that she gave him──a smile that was linked to sunlight and sincerity──he wondered what else he could do in order for her to always give him genuine smiles like that.
