Morning had broken,and sunshine had filled the dorm room.Akko had just woken up.Lotte and Sucy were still asleep.Akko looked down to her right and saw Cole,who was also still sleeping. "Oh right,Cole.I think I may let him sleep in a little." She thought to herself.But just as she was about to get out of the bed,Cole woke up. "Akko!Akko!" He said as he grabbed her arm.She smiled. "Relax bud,I'm not leaving you." She told him.The other two girls woke up shortly after. "Little guy really trusts us doesn't he?" Sucy said.Lotte looked outside the door and saw many of the students began to walk through the halls. "Well,we're not bringing him to Ursala without drawing to much attention.Better to bring her here" She told the others. "A teacher of ours.She's very kind person." Sucy told Cole.The witches got dressed.They were just about to leave,when Cole grabbed Lotte by her skirt.He clearly didn't want to be alone. "How 'bout I stay with you?" Akko asked.Cole smiled.The other two girls left to get Ursala.Akko stayed with him.They sat on opposite ends of one the beds.Akko decided to ask Cole a little bit more about his old life,because maybe she could help him get through it. "What was it like with you're family?I just want to help you get through it." She said.Cole looked down. "Barely slept.Hardly ate.Yelled at for every slip up.Made me sleep in basement...so cold." He said.He buried his face in the bed.Akko petted the back of his head. "It's going to be okay.We'll help you get through this." Akko said.He smiled at her.Fifteen minutes later,Sucy and Lotte returned to the room with Ursala. "So what did you girls want me to see?" She asked.Akko showed her Cole.Ursala was surprised.She got on her knee and took a look at the boy an gently examined him. "So he was in the woods,all on his own?" Ursala asked. "Yeah.Poor thing's adoptive parents severely abused him.He told me how badly they treated him.Locked him in a cold basement,practically starved him.Quite horrible." Akko said. "Not very surprising,as I have heard similar cases like this happen every now and then." Ursala said. "Child,how old are you." Ursala asked.Cole held up six fingers. "So,I imagine he has to go to an orphanage?" Lotte asked.Cole got scared and clung to Akko. "Normally yes.However,it seems his mental state is extremely fragile,so moving him would affect him much.Plus,it seems has gotten attached to you three." Ursala explained. "You mean...he can stay here?" Akko asked sound excited. "I would be the best option,especially if we want to make sure his parents can't find him.At least until we can find him a proper home.Until then,you three shall protect him." Ursala said. "Yes Ma'm!" Akko saluted. "Maybe he can learn a little magic here." Akko continued. "I suppose that isn't a bad Idea." Agreed Ursala.Cole smiled.Akko hugged him. "Don't worry bud,We'll protect you from here on out" She said.Cole hugged her back tightly,while also shedding a few tears of joy.
