Personality: Is very sweet and kind off-ice and known for being courteous when encountered by fans on the street, but has a reputation as one of the dirtiest enforcers in women's ice hockey history. She was often feared by her opponents and many of the Flames were a little bit intimidated when they found out she would become their assistant coach. She holds the NWHL record for most fights.

Backstory: Ruby was born to two hardcore Bruins fans in Boston, so hockey had always been a big part of her life. When she was 5 years old, Ruby expressed interested in learning to play hockey herself and her parents put her in skating lessons. Over the next 12 years she showed much talent and promise in her abilities on the ice and played for Team USA at the 2010 IIHF World Women's U-18 Championships, where she won the silver medal. She played for the Eagles Women's Ice Hockey Team while at Boston College and continued playing for USA at the IIHF championships every year. Fresh out of graduating from college in 2015, she was drafted onto the newly-formed Boston Pride and named captain. While on the Pride, she was in a relationship with David Pastrnak for 2 years. The two were a very popular couple and were widely shipped in the media due to them being two of the most prominent hockey players in Boston, but in 2018, they split, and neither of them have yet to speak on their breakup. They still follow each other on Instagram, so it is likely that they are still friends. In 2019, Ruby received and accepted an offer from the Calgary Flames to become the first woman in an NHL coaching position. She left the Pride to become the Flames assistant coach, though she still continues playing at IIHF championships and is a two-time Olympian. In April 2020, Ruby announced that she was dating Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk in a sweet Instagram post (see below). Ruby and Matthew have not been extremely open or public about their relationship thus far, though inside sources say that the pair are "completely smitten with one another" and "are very much in love".

Fun Fact: Matthew and Ruby have yet to speak on this, but one of the Flames WAGS' Instagram stories went viral over the summer when a fan noticed Ruby's voice in the background saying, "I can't help it, Matthew getting into fights is such a turn-on" ;)
