Part 2: Your Sneeze Hits A High Note

"Travel the world, see the sights, there's magic in the air of the glittering night."

"What the hedgehog?" I gaped at the vehicle moving down the street towards the apartment. That was not a simple van or RV. It was literally a ship on wheels. Zane came up behind me, gripping my shoulder just in case I fell out of the window. I  leaned over the sill to get a better look.

"I advise that we move to the front of the building so that we can load in our personal belongings." Zane suggested as he picked up my bag and his own. I nodded numbly, taking our carry ons, following him out of our apartment and making it down the stairs and then making it back up the stairs because I  forgot the key in the lock.

When I finally made it into the front area Zane was putting our bags into the vehicle. It was beyond beautiful, the automobile mimicking it's water cousin with sleek sides and tall sails. But instead it had rolling wheels and a large glass window in the front.

"Welcome to The Land Bounty." A voice called, the Fire ninja's head poking out from the haul, the side opening in a panel so he could hop out. "Zane and my sister couldn't think of a better name so alas we are stuck with it."

Zane gave Kai an unimpressed look as he took our carry ons from me while I stared in awe at the beauty called The Land Bounty.

"Might wanna close your girlies mouth or she'll start choking on a fly." A female voice said dryly. Oh no it's a ghost.

Oh wait, it's just a girl.

My jaw snapped shut as I looked to see who was talking. Who I assumed was Isla, Kai's girlfriend, rounded the vehicle and leaned against it casually. She was a very pretty women with her flawless dark skin and curly brown hair. It hung loosely in a low ponytail and she wore distressed jeans and a red tank.

Maybe I should've thought more about what I was wearing,

I myself, had left my hair wild, and probably had less hair than I did before I brushed it. I had threw on high waisted shorts because they require less yanking, a black floral top because white shirts stain to easily, and sandals because I was to lazy to put on socks.

Perfect dressing strategy.

"Hi!" I tossed my last bag at Zane, my aim went horribly and ended up nailing him in the head. The cute keychain he had gotten me as a little anniversary gift with a mini locket of both of them bounced off his forehead with a metal clang.

Ouch, that must've hurt as much as my sucky little rubber duck version of the Ice Ninja I had given him as his anniversary present.

I gave a quick "sorry!" before excitedly shaking the Isla hand- but I didn't shake it vigorously........

Okay maybe I shook it vigorously. "I'm Gwen, nice to meet you!"

Isla gave a slow nod, quickly taking back her palm and moving rapidly back into The Land Bounty.

Okay, ouch.

Kai rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Why don't we all get in, I'm sure Cole and Lloyd are waiting!" He said quickly.

Nice save.

Sheepishly taking my bag back from Zane I moved into the thing, then tripped and fell out of it. Zane caught me before I could splat against the pavement, simply boosting me into the moving ship-thingy and getting in himself.

"Ooh...shiny!" I traced my hand along the metal along the walls, my hand finding the picture frames that hung there. I chuckled as I looked over the image, taking it off of the hook. It was of the ninja, they were all cooking for what I assumed was a birthday party. Zane was rocking a baby pink, frilled apron and was trying to take control of the situation. Nya was arguing with Kai and Lloyd looked like he was mediating the quarrel. While Zane was attempting to keep Cole from pouring what appeared to be hot sauce on the cake and Jay from eating it.

"Pink is your colour." I said thoughtfully as Zane came up behind me. He paused when he saw what I was looking at, his metal seemed to warm and his eye starting glitching, the sign of Nindroid embarrassment. I snorted but as the daughter of a mechanic I knew what to do- whacked him hard in the head.

Zane huffed and took the picture, promptly turning it facedown in a compartment in the wall. Suddenly, the whole vehicle jerked and my reasonably subpar balance caused me to go flying.

"Kai, I ask that you follow every safety protocol and wait for the passengers to sit down before driving, or an even safer solution would be allowing me to drive." Zane called, helping me into my seat.

"Pfft. I'm a good driver!" Kai protested.

Isla raised an eyebrow. "I swear the driver was screaming when you served in front of him. You know, that intersection at the street next to that stalky dudes house."

"He was sneezing."

"No ones sneeze is that long and high pitched...." Isla paused. "Well, except for yours."

"You make a high pitched sneeze?" I perked up as I cut in. "Is it really high pitched? Ooh! Can you do it now? Is it so high that it's like echolocation? Can I even hear it?"

"Fine! I'll let Zane drive. Then you'll have to sit next to HIM for the drive." Kai snapped. Isla had no problem with that so Kai pulled over and reluctantly handed the wheel to his Nindroid friend.

Zane significantly relaxed and I found myself having to grip the seat less as Zane carefully drove down the street towards the next house. Silence settled softly in the area, some people may have found it peaceful but....

  "So-how about that sneeze?"

Authors note *****

You're probably thinking, "Lucky, why did you switch to first person that's so unprofessional?" Or you're thinking "I don't care."

Whichever it is I felt I had to switch to first person to really capture the glory that goes by the name of Gwendolyn O'Hannah. Please don't be to bothered by it.
