Let's pretend that Tigerpaw and Whitepaw are older than Bluefur's kits for this story lol

Sorry for starting the story so quickly

Bluefur's pov

Bluefur stood outside of the nursery and took in the sweet scent of the trees and rain. New-leaf is already here! She thought happily.

Her daughter Mistykit ran around at her paws, chasing a leaf. She'd grown so much. Thrushpelt was watching Mistykit, looking proud of his daughter.

"Look at me mother!" She gazed at her daughter, Mistykit, who chased the leaf all the way around the clearing. Bluefur looked at her sweetly. Mistykit pounced on the leaf. "Got it!" She squeaked, her bright blue eyes shining in triumph.

"Good job!" Thrushpelt congratulated Mistykit.

"Father! Father! Look what I can do!" Mosskit and Stonekit came whizzing out of the nursery. Both of them ran around their father.

"What can you do?" Thrushpelt asked them curiously. His green eyes were warm with love as he muzzled Mosskit.

"Watch!" She squeaked and ran into the nursery and emerged a heartbeat later with a feather. She placed it on her nose. Balancing, she padded around the clearing, her head held high so she could keep the feather on her muzzle.

Bluefur's mate looked impressed.

"Ooof!" The feather flew off Mosskit's nose as she banged into a ball of white fur by the fresh-kill pile. The she-cat lifted her head, revealing her pretty blue eyes.

"Hello Mosskit!" She licked the kit on the cheek. Mosskit stared at the she-cat. The she-cats white coat was well groomed and her eyes warmed when she saw Mosskit.

"Snowfur!" Mosskit squeaked happily. Bluefur laughed a little and bounded over to her sister. Stonekit and Mistykit followed, running at full speed and jumping straight into Snowfur's fluffy white pelt.

"Make sure you don't hurt my leg!" She warned them lightly. Bluefur was so glad that when the monster from the Thunderpath had almost hit her, she didn't die. Although she had hurt her leg, which was dislocated, she regained her strength and stayed positive and she was almost fully healed. She still had to do exercises with Featherwhisker every day just to make sure she would be fully healed.

The kits rolled around in Snowfur's pelt, making her purr kindly.

"Hi Snowfur." Bluefur nodded to her sister who smiled deeply at her.

"Do you want to go on a patrol with Speckletail, Thistleclaw, Thrushpelt, yourself and me?" She asked, her blue eyes locking into Bluefur's as she waited for an answer.

Although she hated and wanted to strangle Thistleclaw, she accepted. Bluefur turned to her kits.

"I want you to stay in camp with Featherwhisker okay. Ask Stormtail if he'll tell you a story or something, but do not do anything mouse-brained." Bluefur told her kits. They nodded.

"Bye mother! Have a good time!" They snuggled to her fur.

"We will!" She responded.

They then quickly said 'goodbye' to Thrushpelt. "Bye father!" Thrushpelt licked them on their heads and they trotted off to the elders den and then vanished from sight.

"Great!" Eyes lighting up, Snowfur called over Thistleclaw.

"What is it?" He mewed to his mate.

"We are going on patrol, do you want to come." Thistleclaw muttered something inaudible to Bluefur's ear. His gaze travelled from Snowfur to Bluefur.

StarClan help me! I'm stuck with this mouse-brain! Holding back a nasty comment, Bluefur waited for his response.

"Why not?" To Bluefurs surprise, he seemed very happy that they were on patrol together. Not a sign of annoyance rung in his mew. Shocked, Bluefur turned to her mate.

"Thrushpelt do you wanna go on patrol with Snowfur, Speckletail, Thistleclaw and me?" Her voice shook slightly when she said Thistleclaw but no one noticed.

"Um, sure." He nervously padded over to Bluefur from the nursery.

"Okay let's go!" Thistleclaw leapt happily over to Speckletail. "Do you want to patrol with us?"

Speckletail's amber eyes traced over the group, obviously wanting to see who was in the patrol. "Okay, I'll come, have you told Sunstar?"

"Yes, come on, we'll go to Sunningrocks." Thistleclaw led the patrol out of camp, not stopping to wait for them.

"Why is he acting that way?" Speckletail leaned into Thrushpelt and Bluefur.

"I don't know," Thrushpelt murmured. Thistleclaw was already two tree-lengths away, bounding off. Snowfur was running after him, laughing. They seemed happy. Almost too happy.

"We all know how he should act." Speckletail said, her lip slightly drawn back.

"Just....enjoy it, while it lasts I guess." Bluefur told them. "It probably won't ever happen again. Thistleclaw's always grumpy. He'll go back to his normal self," Bluefur bit her lip, obviously not buying her own words. "Maybe." Bluefur didn't understand why he was acting like this. This had been happening for a few sunrises now. Bluefur guessed he was trying to act all nice to them, which made Bluefur dislike him even more.

"Let's just go." Speckletail raced in front.

Bluefur at her tail, they raced the whole way to Sunningrocks. The wind felt good as it rushed into Bluefur's face. She felt relieved. Ever since her kits were born, she had to stay in the nursery.

Bluefur jumped over a tree log and then jumped on top of a rock. She pounced from the rock, over another tree log. She saw a blob of white fur and a dark grey and white blob as she jumped over the tree log. She fell to the open surface, landing in some feather and moss.

Rolling out of the moss and feathers, she saw her friends just behind her so she quickly moved out of the way for them to land.

"Cats always land on their paws." Chuckled Thrushpelt.

"Unless they're kits, or they haven't had much practice for a few moons." She mused.

"Do you think Mosskit, Stonekit and Mistykit will behave?" Thrushpelt asked curiously, tilting his head to one side. It hadnt crossed her mind that they were just kits, irresponsible balls of fluff that don't do what they're told.

"Well of course they will." She said, hiding her anxiousness. "They'll just get told a story from Stormtail, how hard can it be keeping three kits under....control...." Bluefur had not thought of it in that way.

"They'll be fine, I'm sure of it. I left my kits in camp while I went out, they aren't a mouse-brained as you think. Although they act that way." Speckletail nodded to the Sunningrocks. "They're waiting."

Up ahead Bluefur could see Thistleclaw helping Snowfur along as she limped. Bluefur felt slightly sympathetic for Thistleclaw and Snowfur, but, Snowfur didn't know what Thistleclaw had done.

He had almost killed a kittypet who accidentally stumbled into ThunderClan territory, killed many warriors for no reason, and now Bluefur has found out he'd been working for a secret place cats go when they dream called The Dark Forest. Thistleclaw was training there, presumably so he could get powerful and then take over the clans. Sadly, Snowfur loved Thistleclaw so much she couldn't see past his nice side. That's what bothered Bluefur so much.

When Bluefur caught up to the others, Thistleclaw stopped them and told them to wait.

"I can hear RiverClan." He whispered. StarClan please say Oakheart isn't on the patrol! They waited silently until the patrol padded past them. They didn't notice the ThunderClan warriors.

"Why can't we just share Sunningrocks with ThunderClan? Is it that hard to agree over some rocks?" Bluefur heard and saw a dark brown tom talking to a cat that was probably his mentor.

"Loudpaw, it's our territory, you should know that. We don't just share territory with our neighbours." A tom cat told his apprentice. Bluefur didn't catch sight of the tom because he blended in with the dirt too well.

Thistleclaw unsheathed his claws and sunk them into the ground furiously. "They are not!" He said, not making an effort to hide his anger.

"Let's just go mark the border." Snowfur hissed. She stepped out into the open. Bluefur followed after her sister, not taking note of the patrol that passed. The RiverClan patrol didn't take notice of them either.

Re-marking the border, they slowly padded back to camp.

"Wait there." Snowfur stopped the patrol and plunged into a bush. "Mouse-dung!"

Their was a squeak as a rabbit pounced out of the bush it was behind. Before it could escape, Thrushpelt pounced on it and snapped its neck, killing it successfully.

"Ah, while we're out doing a patrol, we can hunt." His face unreadable. The patrol congratulated him, all except Thistleclaw, who had gone back to his normal, grouchy self. Thistleclaw almost looked angry with himself.

"I could of caught it." Thistleclaw murmured. Bluefur could see that Thistleclaw was getting more annoyed. Everyone ignored him as they started to head home. Bluefur was excited to get away from Thistleclaw. She could also see her kits.

Bluefur sighed in relief. Finally she would just get a rest.
