I blinked open my eyes to see myself enclosed by a glass cover with a few holes in the sides, surrounded by a strange white room. Something was attached to my mouth. I wanted to take it off, but it made me feel better when I left it on. I felt so energized. But that isn't important right now. I just want to know how I got here in the first place. I began grooming my face, but when I brushed my right cheek, I saw some dried blood on my paw. I gasped. Then, groggy from the faint, I began to rub my eyes. But I couldn't clean my right eye. It was blocked by a strange web of soft, white stuff that reminded me of moss. There were tall creatures, wearing pale teal covers and something that masked their muzzle and mouth. They looked relieved, but concerned. I was confused. I could walk, but it really hurt on my hind leg. I looked behind to see a bad twist in that leg. The rear paw was facing a totally different direction. One of the creatures then showed a strange gesture. I tilted my head. He then picked me up and laid me back down. What was he doing? He then took off the thing covering my snout, but then he put on a different one. The scent was horrid, but it made me dizzy. I laid down, trying to shake it off, but whatever was inside the cover was forcing me to shut my eyes, immediately drifting off to sleep.

My eyes snapped open. I was in a different place, sprawled on a huge white patch of bedding. There were all these wires stuck on me. Pointy things pricked through my skin, dripping a strange fluid. There was someone there watching me, delight sparkled in her light blue eyes. I shuffled my paws to find a more comfortable position. But as I moved my rear leg, it felt heavy, as if something were stuck on it, and it was still really sore. My leg was... I don't know how to describe it. But it had a hard metal casing bolted into it. It seemed to be bolted to the inside of my leg, so it made it heavy. "Looks like it hurts." A voice said below her. She saw a long furred cat. "I know the feeling." He said. "I had to get my back paw... I don't really know." He explained as he stretched out a rear paw. It felt hard, with no fur or warm flesh on it. "It seems you got a brace on that leg. Ya know, you getting that brace reminds me of something." He said. "Oh, wait! I didn't get to introduce myself. Sorry!" He said. He stretched out a paw. "The name's Oak." He said. But before I could touch mine with his, the female creature made some sort of call to Oak. "That's my call. I gotta go. Nice meeting ya!" He called before he trotted out the door. 'Strange cat', I thought. He was so familiar...

After a bit of exercise on the metal brace, I was walking around strange white hollows. There were other animals around me, all crippled and trying to heal. There was a sudden sharp pain in my leg, and I crouched. A guide picked me up and carried me along. She brought me into a different room with unfamiliar things. There were more pointy pokers, the strange... "masks", I think they're called. I was settled down on another soft pillar. A needle pricked my shoulder, gushing a strange fluid. Before I could think any more, I went to another deep trance.
