Plain was flying as fast as she could, straining every muscle and tendon in her body, with only one thing in her mind. She hadn't stopped to rest for a day. She stopped at a lake to refresh herself, carefully checking for wolves before landing. She had one wolf encounter, and that was one more than she wanted.ahe splashed water on her face and cleared her mind. She realized that she was free. Free from the controlling yoke of her mother's constant foilings, setting things up to keep her in the little hut. She spread her wings and inhaled. She looked around, and in her possessions. She had left nearly half her things in her haste to leave. She had one rabbit, and two spears. One she had stolen, the other made by imitating scavengers. She sat, watching a hawk absently she was semi-aware that she was gripping the ground. The only place she was safe was with others. But that was the last place her mother told her to be. She spread her wings, and flew toward Jade mountain, and her destiny.
