I hope you enjoy chapter two!

Silverscale's P.O.V.

Immediately after I see the strange hybrid, I think She's a mind-reader. She has those tear-drop scales by her eyes. I used to think those were cool, when I was young, but that was before I found out what the silver scales meant. I decide that I can't let her read my thoughts. I say "Hi!" very enthusiastically, trying to not show my fear of her reading my thoughts. My eyes flicker to her neck, looking at the pendent pulsing with a faint light. How does someone have the same pendant!? Especially mine!? I look down and mine is pulsing more than ever with a light yellow glow. Just before she waltzed in I had been putting up my trinkets by the window. What are the trinkets, some dragons might ask? Scavengers. They are real live happy little fuzzy scavengers. Some dragons might think it's weird to keep scavengers as pets, but I find them adorable. "Do you want to go to the food cave?" I ask, frantically searching for a way to break the silence, and to get out of this cave, which seems to be getting hotter by the moment. She nods.

We quickly head down the twisting corridors of the academy to the giant food cave. The halls slowly got wider and wider until you could almost fit five dragons side by side with their wings out. We saw a sign labeled FOOD CAVE ------->. " I guess we go this way," I state. "What's your name?" she asks quietly, politely. " SilverScale, a basic NightWing name. Pretty boring I guess," I respond. "Eclipse." she states silently, and it takes me a moment to realize that she meant her name is Eclipse. "That's a nice name you have there," I say awkwardly.

"So how did you get here?" I ask without much context. " I hatched out of an egg," she responds sarcastically. I like this dragon. "No, I mean which route did you take to get here silly." We both start laughing at her sarcasm. "Oh, I took the scenic route that runs through the mountains ," she says to me as we near the food cave. "Fun! is it nice?" I ask. "Not really," she says, flexing her wings to show me various scratches and bruises where it looked like she had repeatedly smashed herself into the mountain. "Oh, was it that storm?" I ask a realization dawns on me. "I knew it was coming from a mile away!" I say. I notice she is scowling at me, and I decide to keep my mouth shut.

We walk into the food cave, and gasp in awe at the massive array of food splayed out before us. "Wow" Eclipse says, her voice lined with admiration. "I never realized how hungry that flight made me!" Eclipse exclaims. Cows, Chicken, Pigs, Goats, everything from Seafood to arctic Penguin and fresh Songbirds. I see Eclipse suck in a breath when her eyes wander over the roasted hare, which looks perfectly seasoned. We run at the food and eat, eat, eat. Halfway through the meal, a MudWing who had been standing in the back comes up and asks us if we are enjoying our meal. "Yes!" we both exclaim at the same time, look at each other, and burst out laughing. The food cave is a cave so big, at least one hundred dragons could walk around in it with their wings spread and still have room to spare. On the right side, there is no wall, letting the midday sun crash in, and leaving a good view of some dragons, RainWings and SandWings alike, sunning themselves on the rocks below. On the left side, a cool stream runs through the cave, providing a natural water source. We eat our hearts out.

I hope you liked it! Don't worry, it will get more exciting.
