Sei was greeted at the door by a different butler than last time, but glowing in the same sunflower colours. "I'd like to speak with the mayor," Sei said quickly.

"I can't let you in without an appoint—hey!" The RainWing yelped as Sei pushed past him and ran straight to the dining room. She pushed open the doors.

All four RainWings were inside, eating. Currasow turned violently orange and hissed like a snake when he saw her. Inca's eyes narrowed. The tips of Sibia's wings turned pale rose.

"What are you doing?" Tarsier gasped.  "We're trying to enjoy our breakfast!"

"Mayor Tarsier, I'd like to report a crime!" Sei announced without glancing at Currasow.  "Hearth of the SkyWings, your head of security in the city, must be charged of dragonet abuse, domestic abuse, and death threats, and has to be imprisoned immediately!"

"Dragonet abuse? Death threats?? What under the moons are you talking about, girl?" Tarsier hollered.

"Hearth has a son—I'm sure you all know that," Sei explained.

"Arrow," Currasow hissed.

Sei nodded. "Great recollection skills, you extraordinarily clever snake. Don't worry, I'll get to the part about you next." Currasow turned bright green and Tarsier shot him a confused look. "Anyway, Hearth also used to have a wife, Gleam of the IceWings. He abused her—physically and emotionally—enough for her to take her own life."

"Oh dear," Tarsier murmured, turning an ill green colour.

"After Gleam was gone, Hearth turned his violence to Arrow, who has been taking hits for two years.  Last night he came way too close to dying for fear of putting me in danger.  Which brings us to the death threats accusation.  Hearth told Arrow that if he told anyone about the situation, he'd kill me, the only dragon Arrow loves."

Currasow hissed in outrage.

"Oh, yes," Sei said calmly.  "And... do you see these bruises?"  She held out her arms.  "They were inflicted by your son, Currasow of the RainWings.  Yes, Arrow was the one who broke Currasow's arm, but only to protect me from him.  We were on the edge of becoming another version of Hearth and Gleam."

"Currasow," Tarsier hissed coldly, "to your room.  Now.  I'll deal with you later."  Currasow stood up and stomped away.  Inca watched him go with emotionless, glassy eyes.  Tarsier looked back at Sei.  "Okay, I'll have him brought into custody.  Tell your friend to stay away from that house for a while."  Sei nodded, thanked the mayor, said goodbye to Sibia, and left.

She opened the door just in time to see a flash of red scales dive toward Arrow's house and then flicker out, vanishing against the open sky.  Currasow, Sei thought in horror.  He's going for Arrow.
