Makes sense

Appearance: She prefers to stay pale yellows and tans, the shades of most SandWings. She has a piercing blue eye, and the other is blind and partially melted with her own venom. Her snout is deformed and pressed up against the rest of her face, pushing her nostrils up. Her teeth are overgrown and very crooked, one front tooth pushed through her lip. She is very scarred and battered-looking, though her figure is broad and she is not as glossy or sleek as most RainWings. Her only jewelry is a single emerald earring that she never takes off. It is enchanted to let her breathe fire and exhale frostbreath (unlike the IceWings' because it only freezes things, not poisons).

Well, this certainly is a unique appearance. I like her snout deformity, and the reasons you give for all her scars and injuries in her backstory. It seems pretty believable. I think that people usually make RainWing OCs, especially female RainWing OCs, very beautiful and graceful, so I absolutely love that you've made her deformed and dare I say ugly. I like this appearance a lot!

Personality: She is very bitter and loathing of other dragons, especially NightWings and excluding her father, who is the only supporting dragon from her childhood. She has been through physical and emotional trauma for years, and revels in her scars. Though she hasn't fought many real battles, the few who met her know she would dominate a battlefield. However, her war face is only on around other dragons, and all she truly wants is someone she can talk to.

That last part actually made my heart sink. Oh man, you gave me feels!

It makes total sense that she'd be like this considering the fact that she was basically tortured. Her personality fits her backstory, which is nice.

Backstory: Astrapia was born with a strange snout deformity and a mindset uncommon for a RainWing. The idea of lolling around in the sun and eating fruit her whole life never really appealed. She always had a thirst for knowledge and adventure, much to her tribe's disapproval. Her father was the only supportive one, and gave her the enchanted earring For her first hatching day. It was a gift her animus ancestor has been passing down for generations. But as the family line was lengthening, the powers disappeared. Her father encouraged her for a good few years, but she eventually had to exile herself so the RainWing tribe wouldn't do it first. She was captured by the NightWings for the venom experiments, but once they found out she could use fire and frostbreath, they took her to a different area to do extensive experiments. They never linked her power to the earring, and she was mistreated for years by them, thus her hatred of NightWings. Her snout deformity came from the overuse of her mouth guard, because she was a triple threat with venom, fire, and frostbreath. The venom on her eye cane from a desperate attempt to attack the NightWing who took her, but it bounced off his armor and into her eye. She was beaten and abused for a long time, and she was forgotten in the rescuing of the RainWing prisoners because she had been gone for much longer. The NightWings purposefully put her on an area of the island the volcano couldn't get to because they valued her strange powers. She was infuriated that she had been forgotten, and set off for the continent, seeking her revenge.

I though that she was a bit overpowered at first, with frostbreath, firebreath and venom, but I think I actually kind of like it. You make it work for this backstory. I've seen maybe a couple of other RainWing OCs who were captured by the NightWings before, but I think this one in particular is pretty unique.

However, I think there are some inconsistencies in this backstory? You first say that she was born with her snout deformity but later say that it was caused by the overuse of her mouth guard. I definitely like the latter explanation for that better, but I found this to be a little confusing. Also, why did she not remove her earring? Wouldn't that take her powers away? Or tell the NightWings that it was the earring that gave her powers? I'm also kind of disappointed by the ending. I'd like to know *how* she gets her revenge, because that sounds awesome.

Overall
I'll give Astrapia a 9/10! I really do like her, and while her backstory is pretty great, there were some bits that I didn't like very much. I think she has a good appearance and personality, and I couldn't really think of a way to improve them, because they were great!
