Appearance: Medium height and pretty buff build. Weirdly pink-red scales fading slightly to yellow at her tail often said to have captured the dusk itself. Mild dusty yellow underscales and wings. Flaming blue eyes as if the sky was burning. The larger cracks between her scales actually glow very faintly, although it could be barely seen at night. Oak brown horns. Firescales.

Ohhhh, she sounds gorgeous! I love this description, I can tell you put a lot of effort into this! I can get a very clear image of what she's supposed to look like. I like it!

Personality: Typically jittery and prone to nervous breakdowns under stress. Shys away from dragons when she can, but for some reason is also ridiculously talkative. Overconfident in her belief that her firescales can save her from nearly anything. Can be blunt if ticked off. She does have claustrophobia from an event in her backstory.

I like this too! She's different enough from Peril, which I like, because the few firescales OCs I've seen tend to be a lot like Peril. I like that the events of her backstory affect her personality, that's always good.

Backstory: Her story starts in the egg. Spinel and her unnamed brother were twins, but when they hatched, her own brother burned up in her talons by accident. It was a traumatizing event for her, and since then she was scared of confined spaces, since it always reminded her of the past.
Her parents raised her, although it proved to be quite difficult because of her firescales.
One day, a group of soldiers from the Sky Kingdom suddenly appeared and attacked them for betrayal for running away from the tribe. Spinel, still a fairly young dragon then, accidently set the cave they were staying in on fire. She was the only one who made it out alive.
There was a period of time when she was nearly insane, driven mad by the deaths of so many dragons under her talons, staggering around the continent. Before she met Laurel.
Laurel, a healer from the RainWings nursed her back to help(of course away from the Rainforest). Since then she is basically an explorer, searching the continent for empty and unknown lands.

Hmm, alright. Again, I like that she has a realistic reaction to trauma. It's an interesting backstory, tragic but not poorly written. A lot of people don't like when OCs have tragic backstories, but I think they can be alright, as long as they're original and well written like this one.

I don't like the ending though— just roaming the continent seems strange. I would have preferred it if she settled down somewhere with Laurel. A lot of people have their OCs as explorers, which I don't really like. It's just overused.

Overall
I'll give Spinel a 9/10! I like her, she's well written. Some might consider firescales OCs overpowered, but I think firescales would be more of a disability than a superpower, which you demonstrated well in her backstory. I just dislike the ending, idk. Just something you should consider changing.
