I finished it: I finished writing Wonderwall!

I know it's a short story, but it's quite an achievement anyways.

By the way, this is going to be somewhat of a longer author's note, because there's something I want to tell you (I'm just warning you if you're not a big fan of a/n - you can leave too with the satisfaction of having finished reading a book).

I had the idea for this book for a long time. At first, I wanted it to be a full-length novel, but soon found out that would be nearly impossible - I'd need a thousand wonderwalls for that, and it would make each girl a little less unique.

This made me hesitant to write the story. That was, until I discovered there was such a thing as the genre ShortStory on WattPad: why wouldn't I publish it in that category?

I decided to try it, also because I'd been taking a year-long break from writing and it was a little hard to get back to my old rhythm. I thought a small project might help me fix that, so I set a goal: I wanted to finish Wonderwall by the end of summer (not only to give myself a time limit, but also because it's a book perfect to read and write on during summer and it just happened to be that summer was right around the corner when I got the short-story-idea).

I don't remember exactly where I got the inspiration from, but I do know I wrote the idea down immediately. I was in love with it. Not only because of the story, but also because of the meaning behind it.

From the beginning I'd meant this for girls and to make them realize how great they are, how beautiful they are. Eli in the book falls in love with five girls, each different and unique in their own way. He admires each and every one of them because, no matter what they look like or what they do or the talents they don't have, he sees the talents and beauty they do have and believes every single one of them is perfect.

Because they are.

Melody was talented and the best friend Eli could have wished for.

Kendra loved sports and didn't let others tell her what to do.

Summer was nothing like Kendra: she was girly, talkative (nothing wrong with that!) and had the brightest personality.

Belle was a real outdoorsy and summery type with her love for surfing and kids couldn't help but love her.

Dawn was funny and could understand others like no other ever could.

And all of them were beautiful. None of them were alike and maybe they were jealous of another girl or wished they maybe would have been a little different. But the thing is, they were perfect the way they are.

Eli thought so, I think so.

We see others' beauty so easily, but forget to look at ourselves with the same eyes.

So, next time you look at someone and think "wow, her clothes are awesome!", look at your own clothes and see how cute you look in them. If you think "her hair is so gorgeous", feel your own hair and notice how soft it is. See the beauty in others and apply the same standards to yourself.

Because you are pretty, you are beautiful and you are talented.

In your own way. Maybe you're not like the others, but you're unique. You can't compare Melody to Summer--it would be like comparing an apple and a pear. They're not the same, they shouldn't be the same.

Maybe you're a little like Melody, Kendra, Summer, Belle or Dawn. If you are--and if you aren't too--see the beauty like Eli saw the beauty in them.

If you've made it this far into the author's note: congratulations! I hope this helped you a bit, because the moment I realized this, helped me a lot.

Anyway, I hoped you liked this 'chapter' and the story in general. If you did, don't forget to let me know!
