As our heroes continue their journey to Cyllage City, they meet a young woman named Penelope who challenges Ash to a battle on the spot, right there in the forest! Penelope wants Ash to come with her if she beats him, which makes Serena a little nervous. Plus, Penelope's partner for the battle is Sylveon, a Pokemon Ash hasn't seen before. Ash is extra excited when Clemont tells him Sylveon is a Fairy-type Pokemon—a type Ash has never encountered!

Froakie does its best, but Sylveon easily defeats it with a devastating combo of Attract and Draining Kiss, leaving Froakie a little embarrassed and sulky for a while. Ash keeps his word, and all our heroes come along as Penelope leads them away...straight to her kindergarten class! Penelope explains that she and Sylveon explore the forest every day, looking for wild Pokemon to befriend so the children can meet them. This time, she's brought our heroes and all their Pokemon instead! The kids are delighted, except for one boy named Randall, who's afraid of Pokemon and determined to keep his distance.

Y/n felt sorry for Randall,having the fear of Pokemon is hard as Pokemon are just about everywhere. But before he could go comfort him, he got a call from his Xtransceiver. Picking it up, he saw that his teacher was calling him.

"Y/n, i'll need you in Castelia city in the Unova region." Palutena said with a serious look.

This caused Y/n to tense slightly, have only very rarely ever heard this tone from his teacher, after telling the others that he'll be away, he teleported to Unova via Palutena's  Gardervoir.

When he reached Castelia, he saw that it was in chaos, buildings damaged, and people and Pokemon are panicking.Y/n quickly tracked down his teachers aura but could't find it. Guessing  he need to find the source of the destruction and stop it.

Knowing she'll only step in when needed as she done it before, Y/n extended his senses across the city.  It didn't take him long to find the source of the chaos, it then zipped by him. Not wanting it to get away, Y/n quickly created a large aura dome to trap it, it turned around allowing Y/n to see it.   

It looked like a red  flying saucer , it then unfolded into a bug like machine Pokemon. 

"What in the...? Who's that Pokemon? Y/n muttered before pulling out his Pokedex to scan it.

"Genesect, The Paleozoic Pokemon, A Bug and Steel Type. This Pokemon existed 300 million years ago. Team Plasma altered it and attached a cannon to its back."

"Team Plasma? I thought it was disbanded?" Y/n thought." No use thinking about it now, i need to stop it before it does anymore damage."

"Gyarados battle time!"

Y/n was too focused on Genesect to notice a shadowed figure on top of a nearby building who's watching in interest.

"Flamethrower!"

Gyarados fired a blast of fire at Genesect who dodged and used signal beam that struck it's mark, but Gyarados shrugged it of and knocked it back with Aqua tail. But before Y/n and Gyarados could react, the Paleozoic Pokemon used extreme speed in a hit and run tactic. 

"Stay calm Gyarados, use fire blast on my signal." Y/n called out which Gyarados nodded.

"Wait for it....." Y/n muttered as waited for the right moment, he then saw it "Now!"

Gyarados unleashed a 大-shaped blast of yellow-orange fire from its mouth that struck it's mark casing an explosion, but it died down Genesect was barely standing.

Y/n took a chance and threw a Luxury ball at it.

1...2..3 and ping. And with that Genesect was caught.

After picking up the Luxury ball, Y/n sensed a unfamiliar aura nearby. Knowing the civilians has evacuated by now, he chased after it knowing it belong to who unleashed Genesect in the first place.

After few minutes of searching, Y/n growled when he realized he was given the slip. But he saw a briefcase  with traces of the culprit's aura on it.  Opening it up, he saw four colored drives in it. He also saw a note attached to the case, he then read the note.

"To the brilliant young trainer who  managed capture my creation,  in this briefcase is the four drives to change the type of Genesect's signature move techno blast."

Y/n saw there's another note in the briefcase that explained about the drives and what types what drive change the move into. 

He met up with his Palutena at the Pokemon center five minutes later, she and some others had been helping the civilians evacuating. He explained what happened while they waited for another guardian that was helping Palutena evacuate the civilians.

"So they just left you that briefcase after losing you?" Palutena asked.

"Yeah, i checked it over several times, there's no traps or anything like that." Y/n informed his teacher. " The notes have the Team Plasma symbol at the bottom."

"Hm.... it seems that our culprit is the scientist Colress, who's goal is to discover the true way to draw out the strength of Pokemon." Palutena informed after a thought. " He's once a member Team Plasma to reach his goal, but left for unknown reasons. He's one of the types that will do anything for their research, no matter the consequences."

"I hope after he's caught, he'll think about using less intense methods after release." Y/n said with Palutena nodding.

Soon the other guardian arrived, it was Y/n's old friend Ahsha. She informed them about some sightings of a blond haired scientist , but he managed to give them the slip before they could catch him.

"Y/n, i overheard him saying something about a small army of Genesect that escaped the labs they were contained in, once we find help us capture them after they are found?" Ahsha asked.

"Of course, i'll help however i can." Y/n nodded.

"Well you two, Colress may have escaped, but our original goal of protecting Castelia is still compete." Palutena said with a small clap of her hands." What about we have a meal before Y/n returns to Kalos and Ahsha and i return to the guardian school." 

"Yes ma am ." The younger guardians said in union.

As they waited for their meal, Y/n could only wonder what the future will hold as he journey continues.
