Chuuya was very proud of Dazai. Not only because he had stepped up so much as a father the past couple of weeks. But also, because he was trying so hard to do right by Chuuya as well. Dazai had moved in with Chuuya and Rei as he said he no longer wanted to be away from his son and now lover. Yes lover. Chuuya has truly seen the change in Dazai, and to say he was proud was an understatement. Dazai was nowhere near how he was four years ago. He was more kind and loving now, and he could see the bright side of the world. And maybe that's because Dazai had something to live for now. The world for both of them seemed a little less lonely with Rei, and each other. And it was about to get even a little less lonely.

Chuuya sighed as he had just finished throwing up. Chuuya was sure he had caught the bug Rei brought home. With Rei being in school now, and constantly around other children. Especially with it being the dead of winter in Yokohama. He always got sick, and when Chuuya and Dazai took care of Rei one of them also fell ill. Rei had been sick a week in a half ago, and he gave Chuuya and Dazai quite the scare when he complained about his breathing. Come to find out Rei had the flu and pneumonia. He was hospitalized for the first five days until his breathing got better. And after a couple days of rest at home, and Chuuya's attentiveness with all of his son's care and needs. Rei was in tip top shape in no time. But now Chuuya would have to go get himself checked out as well. And if he was sick he would have to have Rei with Kouyou until he was well. Because the last thing he wanted was to reinfect his little one.

Chuuya panted as he held on to the door frame of the bathroom. Dazai rushed over as he looked at Chuuya in worry. Dazai lifted up his hand and his eyes widened as Chuuya's forehead was scorching hot.

"Baby you're burning up... We have to get you to the doctor. Can you get dressed on your own?" Dazai asked softly.

Chuuya nodded. "I think I caught the flu from Rei..." Chuuya coughed as he moved to go get dressed.

Dazai grabbed the lysol off the dresser and he started spraying it around the house as Chuuya got dressed. Rei stepped out of his room and looked up at his father.

"Papa what's wrong?"

"Your mother is sick. We are going to go to the hospital and call Atsushi-kun to watch over you for a little while."

"It's my fault... Mama is sick form taking care of me..."

Dazai shook his head, and he kneeled down and hugged Rei tightly. "Buddy it isn't your fault. There is a lot of sickness going around. Mommy will be okay, and I'll be there. I'll take good care of Mama."

"Promise?"

"I promise Buddy."

Dazai sighed as he waited patiently for a doctor to call back Chuuya. Chuuya was currently resting his head on Dazai, sleeping. At least he was getting some rest while they waited. Dazai was glad. Dazai rubbed his hand through Chuuya's kind of damp ginger curls, and he hummed as he did. Soothing his lover anyway he knew how. They didn't wait much longer as the nurse finally called Chuuya back.

"Nakahara Chuuya!" She yelled.

"We're here!" Dazai said back and Dazai gently shook Chuuya on his shoulder. Chuuya stirred awake and Dazai grabbed his hand. "Come on baby. The doctor called us back."

Chuuya nodded and he got up with Dazai following the brunette to the back.

"Sushi-kun?" Rei said softly.

"Hm?" Atsushi said as he leaned down his book.

"Will Mama be okay...?" Rei mumbled.

Atsushi smiled softly as he picked up the small child and sat him on his lap. "Your Mama will be just fine. And Dazai-san is with him, and he won't let anything happen to Chuuya-san. Not to mention Chuuya-san is really strong. The strongest person I've ever met." Atsushi admitted.

Rei smiled at Atsushi's comforting words, and he hugged him tightly as he nuzzled into the young teens chest.

"Thank you Sushi-kun."

Dazai sat next to the bed holding Chuuya's hand, and he rubbed his hand softly as the waited for the test results from Chuuya's blood being drawn. Dazai heard the door click open, and him and Chuuya looked up at the doctor.

"Well Nakahara-san. I have great news. You do not have the flu so that is a wonderful thing. But the reason why you are sick is because you are 12 weeks pregnant. Congratulations."

Chuuya sat up nearly choking on his water. "Pregnant?! No- no. I can't be pregnant. I've been on birth control since Rei was born."

"And while birth control is only 99 percent effective there is a small chance you can get pregnant." The doctor said.

"Can I... Can we see the baby...?" Chuuya asked softly.

"Of course. I can have a nurse come in right away to give an ultrasound. Better yet I recommend it we want to make sure the baby is healthy and growing properly. While I go get the nurse to come in I am going to go write a prescription for some prenatal vitamins. That needs to be taken immediately so do make sure to turn them into the pharmacy and pick them up from the pharmacy today."

"We will doctor. Thank you." Dazai said as he watched the man leave the room.

"I- I can't believe I am pregnant... They said the chances of me ever getting pregnant again after Rei was low because of... because..."

"Sh... You don't have to say it... I know. But sometimes. Miracles happen." Dazai smiled as he rubbed his hand through Chuuya's hair.

Dazai and Chuuya where interrupted as the nurse walked into the room.

"Hi Chuuya. I'm Nurse Keira, I am here to do your ultrasound today." She said kindly as she started setting up the machine.

"Hi, and okay." Chuuya lifted up his shirt a bit showing his stomach and the nurse took a bottle of gel in her hand.

"Now Chuuya I am sure you know this is going to be really cold at first." She smiled and opened the bottle pouring a little gel on his stomach. The nurse moved the device around and Chuuya and Dazai looked at the small screen.

"And there they are." The nurse smiled. "Strong heartbeat and growing perfectly fine."

"Wow." Dazai said in amazement as he smiled. "That's our baby..."

Chuuya smiled as he looked at Dazai's face full of happiness and excitement. Chuuya couldn't help but be just as happy seeing how in love Dazai already was with their unborn baby. The nurse printed out scans for them and on the way home Chuuya held them in his hand and he smiled at them. Dazai rubbed Chuuya's hand gently as he drove.

"Hey." Dazai whispered.

Chuuya looked up at Dazai.

"I love you. So much. And I promise you this time I'll be here wholeheartedly."

"I know. I love you too Osamu." Chuuya said smiling.
