It's been a while, and I'm sorry. Hopefully you enjoy this chapter, and  hopefully the characters don't seem occ.

Sorry if there's any grammar mistakes. I'll eventually go back and edit this whole book. C:

He was happy.

He was more content, less bitter.

The way he carried himself walking next to her, he seemed relaxed. He was serene and filled with tranquillity.

It was evidently obvious, his sudden change came from the beautiful blue kunochi.

Hinata Hyuga.

And he didn't mind hiding his sudden fondness, which radiated from him like bright rays of light.

He changed.

Because Sasuke Uchiha, didn't hold hands with females.

"Teme!" Naruto's loud voice echoed throughout the village. Earning the eyes of many wondering villagers.

But, Sasuke and Hinata remained closed. Watching as Naruto and Sakura came closer.

And almost instantly Hinata flinched upon the gazing eyes of both Sakura and Naruto.

But her sudden discomfort was eased when Sasuke's hand glided down her arm, folding over her hand. Firmly, squeezing her hand. Sending her a silent form of comfort, in the shape of his long but warm fingers.

His fingers laced with hers, with their palms kissing.

Their fingers intertwined, locked in a strong hold.

Leaving Naruto gasping and Sakura with a tug on her heart.

Sasuke was anything but warm and loving. He was anything from polite and caring.

He just didn't politely help, and worry over little things.

They went passed the buildings, heading to the comfort of privacy.

It was evident the air was filled anxiety. Leaving an uncomfortable silence to fall over them, like a thick and suffocating blanket.

"Teme." Naruto's voice broke the silence. Unable to handle the dead stillness and complete absence of sound. "H-How have you been?" He was trying. And his blue eyes showed. Because they didn't waver, although his features sadden and body quivered.

"Great." He keep walking. Eye's set in front, and hand securely wrapped in Hinata's fingers.

He picked up his pace, suddenly. Wanting nothing more than to arrive at their room. Where he and everyone could converse without the need to worry.

Or without the need to pretend everything is alright. When it isn't.

But in the mist of his sudden speed, he caught Hinata off guard.

And her feet tripped aimlessly on the helm of her long kimono. Feeling the weight of her body fall forward.

But protective hands help stop her fall. Sasuke pulled her towards him with his hands, and wrapped her in his awaiting arms.

Basking in her warm and sweet lavender scent.

"Are you okay?" She didn't answer. For she was to embrassed, for tripping and falling so easily. She was a trained ninja, a Hyuga. And it made her even more embarrassed and ashamed.

Without the intend to further embarass herself, she remained silent and allowed Sasuke's arms to hold her close to his breathing form. Burying herself in his open arms, hiding her scarlet cheeks.

Sasuke showed he cared, and he cared deeply for the shy Hinata Hyuga in his wrapped arms.

Neverthless, Sasuke didn't chuckle nor laugh. Didn't show a form of expression to express his sudden delight. He was an Uchiha, and he concealed his emotions behind a mask.

Naruto watched from afar as Sakura stood next to him. Her green and jade eyes continued to observe Sasuke and Hinata as they talked peacefully.

It seemed that the aura around Sasuke Uchiha has become much lighter. He was more open to emotions and he seemed happier.

"Teme is acting werid, right Sakura-chan?" It did pained her, to see how Hinata manged to change the cold and stoic man to a much living and happier person.

From a distance, Sakura could hear the giggles escaping Hinata's lips, as she blushed furiously.

Sasuke, chuckled.

It's a first she has ever heard Sasuke Uchiha chuckle. Much less direct a smile at a female.

Sasuke played with a strand of Hinata's hair, before coming closer to her.

His lips moved softly, and almost delicately before whispering softly on Hinata's ear. A smirk evident on his lips,

Sakura noticed his change.

And Naruto noticed the change in Hinata as well.

It seemed they both found comfort in each other.

It seemed they found comfort which they weren't able to provide for them.

And in his endless bitter self, he wasn't a man to obey others. He ordered, not comprised.

"So..." Naruto's voice trailed off. Never ending his statement and allowing the air to take it away. Losing his words which never left his dry lips.

"We were assigned to travel to the Kyougoku clan, and to insure you both were okay." His eyes shifted between his two teammates. "Since, you both failed to properly send any sort of information or reassurance you were both okay."

Naruto, chuckled nervously. Eye's wide with guilt. "I'm sorry."

"The old-" He felt Hinata's immediate look of disapproval. And he decided upon fixing his phrasing of words. To a more mature and a astute tone. "The Hokage, also thought it'll be wise to come prepared."

They gaved him looks of confusion. And Sasuke allowed a sigh to escape the end of his lips. "Me and Hinata are married."

There was silence. Empty of sounds and filled with a form of disbelief.

"Oi, teme!-"

Sasuke knew of his best friends emotions regarding the lovely Hyuga. He knew and couldn't help but dread his own feelings for her.

He should've ignored them. Shoved them into the depths of his heart and mind. But over the time spend with her,

He couldn't find it in himself to regret liking her or harboring any feelings for her.

Because she was Hinata Hyuga. And if not now, it would've been later that he realized he liked her.

"Naruto..." Sasuke silently met his eyes. In a contest. Filled with frustration and betrayal. He saw the pain swimming in the depths of Naruto's blue orbs. "I'm sorry." His hands locked with Hinata and he felt her body stiffen.

But he didn't care. And for what seemed like an eternity of dreadful silence, Sasuke shifted his eyes from Sakura to Naruto.

A smile, etched its ways to his lips. "I'm happy."

But Sasuke Uchiha never intently kissed a female from desire or want. Emotions, girls, and unnecessary display of tenderness were far from his definition of life.

They felt like unwanted children. Staring longingly. Hiden behind a tree, Naruto and Sakura could only watch as Sasuke and Hinata walked side by side. Hand in hand.

Smiling, happily and without a care.

Sakura felt her heart, open and stabbed. Poisoned by pain, and both emotionally unstable and in denial.

And Naruto felt betrayled but mixed with emotions. He was filled with envy, and frustration. Sasuke always had everything, in the palm of his hands. Both looks and love. He was loved by everyone despite his past and hard personality. And that now included Hinata, someone he denied himself of for being a dense fool.

But he also couldn't help but feel happy. Happy Sasuke wasn't alone in the dark.

Waiting to perish and only become more lost in the depths of the darkness.

And he has come to realize Hinata was perfect for him.

She was the light. He was the dark. The perfect match, Yin and Yang.

A loud giggle erupted, and they knew Hinata aloud those sweet sounds of chimes to escape her rosy lips.

They could only watch.

As Sasuke held her in his arm. Resting his head, on top of her head. Eye's closed and a faint smile decorating his hard features.

Hinata held onto him. Arms wrapped around his form, and face buried within his chest. Taking in the sweet scent of wet wood and mint.

Elegant and sweet. Almost bitter but cooling.

Sasuke pulled away slighlty, allowing his eye's to meet hers. Taking in her pure eyes, the eyes he has come to love.

So innocent and basked in white.

His arm found its way under her chin. Pulling her close. Until their nose touched, and their breaths mingled in one.

He smiled and she blushed. Deep and red.

He could feel her heart race, and he knew she could feel his.

And they matched in one heartbeat.

"Hina" He liked the sound of that.

She smiled, leaning closer to his touch. Enjoying his warmth and caressing touches.

"I like you... alot"

Sasuke noticed her body freeze. And her rosy cheeks turned a shade redder. But long before her lips could utter a single word. He closed the distance between them.

Kissing her softly. Slow and tenderly. She tasted of early morning drew, which came from the taste of her lips.

Lingering and heavenly in bliss.

The moment her lips meet his, it helped ignite something deep within. And in the shape of her lips he knew. He wouldn't let her go.

"Sasuke-kun?" Hinata's soft voice echoed from the comfort of their room down the empty hall. Alone, but warm Hinata and Sasuke shared the same blanket. Wrapped securely from shoulders to toes.

"Hm?" His voice was husky upon waking up early in the cold morning. But his breath ticked Hinata's neck, sending shivers down her spine.

"Naruto-" Sasuke knew far too well what words she will chose to leave her lips, and he didn't bother caring. But she was Hinata. And she cared far more than he did or ever will.

He wrapped his arm around her shoulder, bringing her closer to his covered chest. Enjoying both her radiating heat and fresh scent of lavender. "Forget about them," He mumbled under her hair.

"But,"

"Hinata," It was a warning. A tone different from the others he has ever used on her. This time his voice was deeper but slightly playful. And his deep smirk only helped add fuel to his voice. "Let just worry about us, for now."

I really hope you enjoy this chapter.
