Summary: A girl who battles for the happiness of others, for the animals she rehabilitates on her family's farm. Monika's one goal is to provide a chance for the abused and neglected another chance at life, yet is losing the battle to being happy herself.

A boy who's looking for escape from an abusive home, finds himself neck deep in manure, hiding away in a barn. Finn couldn't see his life getting any better with his father's business taking a plummet and his father dying in a hospital bed.

Two teens, two completely different lives, and each harboring troubles they cannot escape. A girl who's afraid to love and a boy with only one wish to be loved find themselves working together to overcome an even bigger obstacle. Maybe, just maybe, there will be a happy ending for all parties involved...

Reviewer's Remarks: Second Chances is a teen fiction novel though it has not been further categorised by the author. The protagonist is a pubescent female whose character is soft spoken and kind (a little to kind).

The portrayal of Monika's (the central character) relationship with wildlife was appealing. I adore how even though the novel is a work of romance it doesn't solely revolve around the protagonist's love life but includes other aspects of her life. This is a point I feel romance books do not note.

The author's writing style was beautiful and I cannot complain about the grammar and tenses. The development of the story is something I would like to highlight. The author's development of story was fair but I would like to point out that while developing the story it must be  acknowledged that the audience may find it a drag and discontinue reading.

A note to the author: I love your style of writing and your concept for this story. The only thing I would like you to note is the development of the story. It is always best to utilise your concept and the jot down notes regarding it and how you want to proceed the story using that concept.
