Part 16 — Silence

Zap was tied to a chair. "I actually won't fucking say anything now. I will if you let me out."

"This is very important and we need to take precautions."

"Precautions my ass. Let me out!"

"You're so damn hopeless..." Samuel pointed a gun at Zap. "Speak."

"You're a piece of shit."

"Say what I need you to say."

"You're a piece of shit and you should let me go."

"Argh..." Samuel withdrew his gun. "Jessica! Get in here!" No response. "Jessica!" He turned back to Zap. "Look, we're not against you, but we really need this information. It's a case that's been around for a long time and we need to know anything we can."

"Just let me out, then! What's the big deal?"

"Eventually keeping you tied to that chair will be necessary. Look, just answer this: Where do Xin and Azyra live?"

"I'm honestly surprised that you can't find the answer to that...but I won't tell you, anyway."

"Jessica won't say a word!"

"Not my problem."

"We'll get her—and look, there she is!" Samuel and Zap saw Jessica enter the room. She looked at Samuel. "I'll take care of it."

"Well then! That's good, Jessica. I'm sure he'll listen to you. Now if you'll excuse me, I'll work on something else." Samuel exited the room. When he was out of sight, Jessica walked over to Zap and shot the ropes with her gun. "Don't worry about Samuel, Zap. He's not a bad person, he's just really addicted to solving cases. Come on, let's leave the HQ. I don't think we need to be here anymore." Zap followed Jessica out of the room. Being careful not to enter Samuel's sight, they snuck past that room. With Samuel no longer being a threat, they ran out of the HQ and walked towards Zap's apartment. Zap pulled out his phone while they were walking. I should let her know that we'll be there...
